  1. I got my second Moderna vaccination today. While I was getting it, I got a text saying one of my favorite bands, Dawes, just announced a tour. I'll be seeing at least three of those shows and they always announce more for Spring. They are even coming to a venue I can walk to, drink and safely walk home. Normally, I've got quite a drive and cannot drink. That's six concerts in my future, including these three Dawes shows.

  3. I'm the Pastor of a small church in St Albans Uk and I also manage a community Food Bank. The Food Bank is hosted by my church and since we began the x4 local churches have been the main suppliers for donations to the food bank. March 2020 and all churches stopped physical service, moved online but the repercussions were that the food bank donations had no obvious source. It was a real concern. Every week during this pandemic I have had at least 3-4 offers of donations to the food bank from people I do not know in the community. People have been donating bags of shoppi

  4. Yes, we have a (not so) good medical system. It's for everybody and you don't need to pay anything for it, which is great! Part of the population prefers to pay for health care (like me), but it's optional. The vaccines offered here are Sinovac and Aztrazeneca (so far) and it's still in the elderly group. Since we have a large population of young and middle aged people, it's not gonna happen that soon .... I hope I will get it asap, but I don't think it will happen before September.

  5. Since I've had more free time because of the pandemic (I've been working at home since March 2020 and have not been able to meet people), I have spent my free time studying things I've always wanted. I'm graduated in one area, work in another, and interested in a third one! 😆 Now, I've been able to use my time to dedicate to the study of the third one: Systemic Constellations, Quantum therapy and Floral therapy. I finally found myself!

  7. I've been studying quantum therapy for the recent weks and today I had a big proof that it works. I'm amazed by it!

  9. I also got a new couch. It was a great deal and is being custom made. This one is wide enough that my dog can lie with me on it. The one I have is not.

  11. Here is the link for that letter if you haven't heard it before (if this is your first time seeing/hearing this, be forewarned that is it a tear-jerker...) https://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2015/nov/19/you-will-not-have-my-hatred-husband-paris-victim-letter-attackers-video

  12. Yes, that's what I hoped too. He had that unfortunate rant later which I still think came from PTSD from that awful event. I hope he has some peace now too.

  13. That's a whole other question. I'm not fanatical about the royals myself, and the idea of one family being put above the rest of us does look increasingly outdated - especially if you don't believe the religious aspect. Equally, I wouldn't like the idea of our politicians having any more power than they already do - especially some of the current lot. We've seen in America and Brazil how you can very easily end up with very unsuitable people being president. And a number of other European countries still have monarchies (Netherlands, Spain, Norway etc) and they seem to be happy wit

  14. Paris was filmed with 4K cameras but released on Blu Ray/DVD. Berlin was filmed in 4K but released on DVD. At this rate Heartland will be released on VHS. 😀

  17. Feel grateful that no matter what today brings I probably won't have to fight an angry octopus.

  18. Just got a phone call from work and they are scheduling vaccinations for the staff. I'm getting the J&J shot next Thursday. Unless the boss is pulling an outrageous April Fool's prank that is. 🤔

  19. I had my first Covid vaccination this morning. It looks like the health service in my town may well have already got round to doing my whole age group - and there was a good, steady stream of people coming in to get theirs, so hopefully that means most people in the area are accepting the vaccine when they're called for it. It was very quick and I barely even felt the needle. Nothing to worry about at all I have the appointment sorted for the second dose - and it's just after my birthday. My present for this year is being protected from Covid.

  20. This has to be one of the more touching stories coming out during our pandemic: https://edition.cnn.com/travel/amp/dog-rejoin-owners-covid/index.html

  21. ...and... I meant to post this a lot sooner. Back in 1847, the Choctaw Nation (a tribe of Native Americans) gave $147 (approx. $5000 in today's dollars) in relief aid to the people of Ireland during their great famine. The people of Ireland have long memories and like to repay debts - so they have been raising lots of money in a GoFundMe campaign for Native Americans suffering from the coronavirus. That's how one repays a debt...story here: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2020/05/06/coronavirus-irish-donate-native-americans-cite-great-famine-help/5174302002/

  22. Let's hear it (again) for Ireland. The Irish Prime Minister, Leo Varadkar, who was a junior doctor until 2013 (and then became Minister of Health) before becoming Prime Minister, has volunteered himself to be on the medical register again - that means he's going to work combating the COVID-19 pandemic until it is over in Ireland.
