  1. Happy birthday to my favourite band! Great memories of the E&I concert in Hamburg, can’t wait for the next one!

  2. Ever since I saw this photo of Dallas Schoo wearing a special commemorative Music Rising t-shirt, I sought one out for myself. It had been years and years until one appeared on EBay, and of course, I couldn’t let it go. I am beyond thrilled that it arrived today, the 15th anniversary of the Dome’s reopening, the same event the t-shirt commemorates. What timing! ♥️ #U2T0925 #superdome #musicrising #dallasschoo #love Dallas Schoo 📷 credit: Matthias Muehlbrandt

  3. My attire for the day. The SOE album and e&i tour supporting it (and the time after it) has been one of my favorite eras of my whole life (overlooking COVID, of course - that bit, in and of itself, has been dreadful). So, this had to be the shirt today.

  5. I work in a COVID clinic at the moment. It is a long busy day. It's hard work. I went out in the afternoon to grab a coffee, when I went outside, there was a lady walking past with the tiniest puppy on a lead. His name was Mitchell and he was the cutest most gorgeous puppy. I have some video of it, but when I tried to upload it, it said the file was too big, it's only 18 seconds but it still said the file was too big. I said to the lady with her puppy, your puppy is cuter than a baby. It was the highlight of my day.

  7. I got my dog groomed and had a lovely visit with a dear, dear friend today. Before: (shame) In my defense-she's a lot cuter when it's combed the right direction and it's not my fault she decided to go roll in everything right before the photo-op? the owner shame no matter...one lady in Michigan totaly bitched me out when she saw a pic of Ri'ri' with ruffles. After: 3 hours. Another round in about ten days. It is very difficult to sit and let someone else work on my dog, even if it is this lady doing it. She's the one who taught me every thing I know about Irish Terriers. I just wanna smack her every time my dog whimpers, which is a lot. (my dog plays it to the hilt) She kept telling me how well I was doing, as though I were the dog.

  14. Totally unfair this! I'm lucky I live in the Netherlands, so didn't have to pay these taxes for the fantastic gifts. I think it's f**cking shit that all those merch is being sold in the US!!!!! U2 is an band from the EU and does have an office in Amsterdam so they have to pay low taxes. Why not an office in Europe/Ireland for selling merch or sending fan gifts? Is it that difficult?? Bring back Principle Management to Dublin!!!

  16. I had a day out today to a nearby town that I hadn't been to for well over 2 years. It's only about 15 miles down the road, but the landscape makes it feel like you've driven much further, with the hills and rural scenery. I borrowed 2 books from their library, bought 4 more at a lovely independent bookshop, had lunch, explored the town some more - including 2 small art shops/galleries - then went back and bought 2 more books from the bookshop. I was also able to add 2 more dictionaries to my language collection, as I found Czech and Hungarian dictionaries in a charity shop. It feels good to be able to have days out like that again, - and to be able to support the local shops, cafes etc in those towns as they're getting back to normal.

  17. Thank you very much. I've not seen a Bond film with Daniel Craig. I want to see No Time To Die. I appreciate the heads up. My good thing: Coldplay is coming to Soldier Field in Chicago on May 28. I'm signed up for the verified fan thing on TM. I've also figured out a way to humbly ask the lady who comp'd me two tickets to the last Coldplay concert at Soldier Field (because it rained the previous Summer when Coldplay was at Soldier Field) for help. Man, I have balls when it comes to this stuff. Rock and roll, baby. The nervous 'I have got to get great seats for this show' rumination begins.' The first time I saw them was GA, Clocks had not been released, not many people were going to the shows and we were right in front. I'm spoiled. BONUS: Ticket prices seem to have come down by at least $50 for this tour versus the last. Yee Haw! My other good thing (equally unexpected) was running into this on YouTube: If you have not seen this, listen to what Sir Paul McCartney says at 1:50. It's quite funny and delicious. I am stoked about this. I did not know. 57 hours of footage? Peter Jackson does not take on small tasks. Wow. Very exciting. I guess I'm going to Disney.

  26. Paddy Maloney has left so much music behind for future generations to enjoy. Perhaps his greatest quality was his lack of snobbery. He worked with anyone from pure trad artists to pop stars. The Stones even appeared on an album by The Chieftains. Sinead O'Connor's version of "The Foggy Dew" stops me in my tracks every time. Good luck and goodbye Paddy, I'll see you further on up the road.

  27. I saw all Vertigo shows, save one, in Chicago. I had great seats for every one. I had second row when they played my city. Still, I mourn not seeing the Vertigo stadium tour that hit Europe. I'm in bliss watching these right now. Thanks for posting.

  29. …and now I have seen “No Time To Die”, and I did indeed love it! 😎👍 My first film in a theater in almost 2 1/2 years! For those who only watch Bond films sporadically: if you plan on seeing this one, be sure to see “Spectre” first. You would miss a few things if you didn’t see “Spectre” first. I loved the little nods to the whole Bond franchise throughout the film as well - very nice touches!

  38. I picked up my copy of Dave Grohl's book at lunchtime The bookshop had just had the pre-orders delivered about 10 minutes before I got there, so it was still in the postal wrapper. It's very good so far - and so absorbing that I forgot to finish making my cup of tea I'm hoping the library will get a copy so that (if the categorising/numbering works out right) we can sit it next to the book by his mum.

  39. I’d be prepared for something underwhelming. How nobody from the band or their management has managed to figure out that there are several amazing zoo tv shows that could be released to commemorate the album I’ll never know. We’re not talking crazy obscure shows there’s shows like Stockholm 92 which there has to be footage of they could upscale and release. There’s Dublin 93 which was broadcast on the radio. There’s all the bits from Yankee stadium that were recorded/filmed. We’re not talking about average performances either, these are all great shows and feature different Setlists to the Sydney show which was more Zooropa heavy. I can sort of understand the band not wanting to release just everything and anything when it comes to live stuff but I’ll never understand them releasing so few great shows that we know exist.

  40. It is good, no spoilers here. I’m not sure it’s as good as the 5 star reviews it’s getting but if you like Bond you’ll love it.

  41. Good for you, Doc. The only true pain killer that works every single time, without side effects and expense, in my not at all humble opinion. It's also the best/safest way I can find to get out of the house during a deadly pandemic. My good thing is Ri'ri's (my dog) daughter is going to have 4-5 puppies any time/day now. Nothing against Chicago but I got me a reason to road trip to Kankakee, which is where my current Irish Terrier was born.
