  3. Iran has nuclear weapons even though they've denied they do. Israel is just itching to bomb them off the face of the earth. This is scary shit!

  5. I feel like Neil McCormick does, time to take a long break. This was a long grueling tour and especially for Bono I would think, having major back surgery in the middle of it. I was amazed at how quickly he recovered and was back bouncing on stages so soon after that surgery. As we age, the body doesn't bounce back as quickly as when we're younger. Like Neil says, they gave up a lot of their personal life over the decades while their kids were growing. Bono's sons are at that crucial age, and I'm sure he'd like to spend a lot more time with them then he did with his girls. Bono needs to
  6. Rachel Maddow on MSNBC has been to the OWS in NYC and always talks about the Occupy movement on her show. So does Keith Olbermann on CNBC.
  7. Are you at the NY Occupy? I've wondered what's going to happen with winter approaching. Your visible presence is imperative. I'm extremely pissed off with what happened in Oakland on Tuesday. Tear gas and rubber bullets! 24 year old former U.S. Marine Scott Olsen and verteran of the Iraq war is in critical condition after being hit in the head with a rubber bullet. He's a member of Veterans for Peace and Iraq Veterans Against The War. Where is the outrage?!http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/45031727?ocid=ansmsnbc11 Oakland has a long history of social protest going back to the 60s and is a
  8. Wahine, I'm sorry you're going through a really tough time right now. Hang in there lady, we're with you. Claire T, good response to VacantLot!

If I was 20 years younger I'd be camped out there with them. I'm concerned with them out there in winters freezing weather. People have the power!
  10. Well, things are getting nasty. Looks like Northern Ireland back during The Troubles. Rubber bullets and tear gas, this tells me the status quo is getting a little nervous about the 99%, they should be http://www.huffingtonpost...html#s434145 Via Occupy Oakland's Twitter account, an image of a protester struck by a rubber bullet fired by police:
  11. Oh WAAAAAA, then go cry at his funeral. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. The West propped up these leaders, they turn into murdering evil tyrants so the West takes them down, or their own people do. That's the way the ball bounces. Next case!
  12. This is a white shirt cop who should be brought up on disciplinary charges and fired http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=iv&annotation_id=annotation_89135&src_vid=Ey_4wRdLrM4&v=n8iV9mA4fKk

  15. Nazhira, no I haven't heard Bono say anything about the OWS 99% and don't think we will. He does own a very expensive penthouse in the San Remo apartment building he bought from Steve Jobs. So technically, he's one of the 1%. but he's not a U.S. citizen so he's excused
  16. Vietnam Vet with a cardboard sign Sitting there by the left turn line Flag on the wheelchair flapping in the breeze One leg missing, both hands free No one's paying much mind to him The V.A. budget's stretched so thin And there's more comin' home from the Mideast war We can't make it here anymore That big ol' building was the textile mill It fed our kids and it paid our bills But they turned us out and they closed the doors We can't make it here anymore See all those pallets piled up on the loading dock They're just gonna set there till they rot 'Cause there's nothing to ship, nothing
  17. [quote name='nazhira wrote: Kristaps'] This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TH3kiaJ1-c8&feature=colike and this: WTF, America? And, of course, the hero of the day Tony Bologna macing women, and the NYPD white shirt attacking a guy for nothing? This is intolerable. What is this: the end of law? the end of civil rights? the end of freedom? A question: Is this situation possible because of anti-terrorism law? they just can arrest people for nothing? Thank Bush then. By the way I've read news ( I don´t know if it's true) that Amnesty International ask

  19. Cain? Cain? OMG NO!!! NO freaking Republicons as Prez, kick them all out! No businessmen as Prez either, they're already draining us dry. I have NO sympathy for CEO's while they cry "we don't know what's going to happen so we're hoarding our money and giving ourselves big bonuses and laying off the little people." Well people aren't consuming either so there go your products and no growth in the economy. Corporations profits have never been higher then they have been the last few years. Don't give me the crap about their stockholders either. Once they repealed the Glass-Steagall Act in

  21. Bono said this because every artist 'steals' a little something from other artists, but rearranges little things they 'steal' to their own formula. There's only so many chords and chord progressions so it's inevitable there's small similarities in almost all songs. That's why people get into discussions about how one song is a "ripoff" of another song. It's not done consciously, usually, it's the subconscious influence of other artists that you're exposed to and then filtered in a different way. His original quote: "Every artist is a cannibal. Every poet is a thief. All kill their insp
