  1. From the album: Adam Clayton @60

A cool night in May in Seattle saw Adam Clayton wearing gloves to perform. Didn't seem to bother him at all.
  2. From the album: Adam Clayton @60

One of the highlights of the performance at the Apollo was seeing how much the band were enjoying the intimate setting. They loved being that close to their audience and were feeding off of the experience. It was wonderful seeing them having that much fun.

  5. Adam has to be one of the most entertaining musicians to watch live. The way he interacts with the crowd, the way he winks and smiles, and lets you know he sees you out there. I always find it a great night when I end up able to see it up close. As he turns 60, I want to extend my birthday greetings, and also to thank him for all the entertainment over the years.
  6. From the album: Adam Clayton @60

Adam sitting down during "Red Hill Mining Town" was always a fun moment to try to capture on film. Quiet moment for him on stage that night, among all the craziness of 80,000 people, jets flying overhead and the hometown crowd.

Seattle at the start of The Joshua Tree 2017. It was a cold evening and Adam was wearing gloves on stage. It's always enjoyed when you land in front of Adam for a performance. The smiles. The winks. The fun he has on stage.
  8. Back in 1979 U2 were trying to record demos, and doing a lot of live appearances trying to attract attention to gain a record contract. John Fisher and his partner Eoin O'Shea had just started a performance space at the Dandelion Market to try to entice young punks by their stand which sold badges and other paraphernalia by bands that were making it big at the time. Bands had to help repair the stage after playing a gig, a stage constructed of beer crates and chipboard. And U2 would play that stage, a total of eight times in 1979. That's where they said goodbye to Dublin before their first tou
Brilliant show tonight and even though not in the stadium you could feel Bono’s emotions coming through the wires loud and clear during “One Tree Hill.” “Love is Bigger Than Anything in its Way” was another highlight. Goosebumps hearing a chorus of voices from New Zealand singing it so strong. Looking forward to what they have up their sleeves for tomorrow night.
  9. Safe travels. And as always, some wise words.
  10. Hi Sherry -- There is a UK distribution center. Most of what I get from the store comes from the UK to Canada. So the question should be why they aren't using that to service customers in Europe? The last items I was sent in December all came from the UK, although on occasion I get material from the US as well. In the case of Canada they ship from the US routinely, but if something isn't available in the US, they then will ship from the UK instead. But on the gift, please DO NOT suggest that it be labeled a gift on the tag with no value. A gift being sent from a corporation? It always
  11. For the 2019 gift a friend of mine has asked the following: "Is there a 2019 subscription thread? My 2018 subscription ends on November 10. (Saturday) There is no option to renew for a new gift. Only the gifts I already have. When will a 2019 option be available? Should I susbscribe on Saturday if a new option doesn't come up?" I've asked her to post here, but thought I'd pass this along as well. She's in Dublin and unable to post herself at the moment.
  12. U2 are releasing a new commercial single after midnight tonight, featuring three new remixes by producers HP Hoeger and Rusty Egan. The duo worked on the mixes together, and unlike the previous dance-oriented remixes, these are far more ambient and a different sound for the song, really featuring Bono's voice. Rusty Egan has over 40 years in the music business, and he's also shared some stories with us about that time, as well as how the mixes came about, and more. The interview and more information about the release are available here: http://www.u2songs.com/news/love_is_bigger_rusty_egan_in
  13. Hi All -- Over the last few weeks, a number of DJs and producers have been putting together official remixes of the song "Love is Bigger Than Anything in its Way". Three of these have been released commercially (Will Clarke's, Daybreakers, and The Funk Hunters versions) and a number of others have been released to DJs for promotion currently, including remixes by DrewG, David Alvarado, Twisted Dee, VibePosse, Moody Boy, Robbie Rivera, and Jesus Montanez. Over at U2Songs.Com we've had a chance to talk with a number of the producers about how they got involved in these remixes, how they ap
  14. Thanks for those who have done the questions. They are still open, so if anyone wants to jump in they can be answered this week. We'll start putting together the results soon for everyone to see.
  15. Hi All -- The team over at U2Songs.Com have put together a short questionnaire consisting of 24 questions relating to the new U2 album, "Songs of Experience". They include questions about what version you bought, your favorite songs, which songs you want to see live and more. We'd appreciate it if you could pop over for a few minutes and let us know your answers. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeKtaNI-BZOluFGUPBApo6sI0kjqukppZ7_ZKY-j9N6lPnkog/viewform?usp=sf_link In a week or two we will share the answers with the community. Many thanks in advance.
  16. Asking for a friend...please help! "I am an Experience member. I used my Joshua Tree codes to buy tickets. So I should need to subscribe again. Started going through the verification procedure. No issue with linking account. No issue with phone number. But I did not resubscribe. But my box is green and says "Complete" and there is no option to subscribe anymore on my profile. Am I finished? Do I not need to subscribe again? If so how do I resubscribe? My subscription comes up for renewal on January 31, 2018." The site says the following in the FAQ: "I have a
  17. u2songs is also doing a series of articles looking back to the 1970s, the start of U2. All of the #U240 articles are here: http://www.u2songs.com/news/u240
  18. Not realistic at all... Apart of the logistic aspect of the production of these several different gifts and its distribution (not the shipping, but more in the sense of "X asked for 1, Y asked for 4, Z asked for 2, etc") which also means time, You should also think about the costs involved... But isn't that what they are doing anyway? There's going to be three options. Just the serigraphs. The serigraphs with North Side Story. And the serigraphs with Another Time Another Place. So they've already made it more complicated on themselves.
  19. U2 is being featured on the soundtrack to the movie as well, which is being released on CD on November 25 in the US. Amazon.com haven't confirmed what U2 track is on the soundtrack yet, but it would only make sense that it's "Ordinary Love".
  20. I'm @u2wanderer on twitter. http://www.twitter.com/u2wanderer/ I also help out on the @u2w account for the U2Wanderer.Org website https://www.twitter.com/u2w
  21. Amazon Canada has been notoriously bad for the delivery of past box sets. The Joshua Tree / Unforgettable Fire ones were delayed by weeks as Universal Canada waited for the box and goodies to be shipped up from the US where they were made so they could put the Canadian pressed discs in. I waited six weeks past the release date for one, and eight for the other. Wide Awake in Europe? They took orders for it right up to the release, and then about three weeks after it had been released I finally had confirmation the item was too limited to fulfill orders and therefore my order was can
  22. i have my ticket, and deposit is in, but i'm thinking i'll skip it this year. I want to do Glasto for the festival itself, and not make it all about U2 as I'd probably do. Think i'll wait for 2013 and do Glasto then. But who knows. I may end up there.
  23. I notice today that the wording on the front page of u2.com regarding this item has changed. "A few of the fifteen tracks have featured on studio albums, but many have had only limited previous availability and some are released here for the first time." It sounds like you are trying to justify things now that this is blowing up, and people are expressing displeasure. And really, do you have to keep editing stories? It's annoying to see the same story edited multiple times to change information that was originally there. But by my count: SOME=2 MANY=2-5 FEW=8-11 Great w
  24. it's now been four weeks since my credit card has been charged, and still no sign of the vinyl. if i don't see something by friday i will be calling fanfire yet again on this issue. sigh. gross incompetance indeed Heather. Has anyone had any satisfaction with getting theirs?!
