  1. "Subscribe early" they said, 'Northside Stories is a great gift..." So I did; "I'll have it by Christmas" I said. And I didn't. I was oh so eager to peruse the latest offering of their early days, hoping to spot a new pic or two of my former neighbour's house. Ah well. So I rang them. "Where is it?" I say. "Being dispatched the and of January" they say. What do I say? RESULT!!!

So by the looks of it January 2017 - about the same time as the new album I am guessing. And I always have good points ;)

  2. Has anyone received their latest subscribers gift yet, the Northside Story one? I'm figuring because I live in the same country as the band I won't get it 'til September earliest....

  3. Weather is gorgeous, the kids are back in school (thank Christ - noisy feckers!) and I'm smothering with a head cold... must be September!!!

No we run off the Newgrange calendar still in Ireland; when the sun shines through the window box and into the chamber, then it's winter! when it's warmer, tis summer! :-)

  7. As somene who uses Photoshop in work, I pissed myself laughing at this!!!
  8. I do only live in the same country as the band y'know!!!
  9. Here's a companion pic to another I posted some weeks ago, of when I met Bono in Dublin in December 1993. He's signing an autograph on the back of an old press card I had (the only thing handy would you believe!) and I'm standing there, a star-struck 19-year old with a godawful fashion sense.....
  10. The cremé de la cremé; a band photo signed by all members of U2!! I received this for my 30th birthday in 2004 from my now wife; the real deal cos I took it out to check and there's even a slight smudge on Larry's name! As you can see form this and the previous pix, Bono's signature is identical for any naysayers!
  11. Ok, first of all forgive the lighting and crude angle; I was trying to avoid the full glare of the overhead light and flash from the camera blotting out the subject matter. Pictured are the first parts of my autograph collection; top left, my uncle, a glazier, was fitting the glass ceiling/roof to Bono's Martello Tower home in 1985 (seriousy!) and got me his autograph, as you can see it's dated as such. Beside it, a good friend and owner of a country pub over here in Dublin asked Bono, who literally popped in for an early afternoon pint, for an autograph for me; it's dated 2002. Bottom, a pic of me when I met Bono in 1993 and, within the frame, the back of the press card he signed for me (I was a journalist then), dated 1993!!! Impressed?? Hah?? Hah?? Wait and see what's next!!!
  12. Bad result but we'll never fold! :-)
  13. Me and himself, backstage at an award ceremony, Dublin, December 1993.
