  1. I could go into a lot of detail about what I like and dislike about this album, but I'll spare you, and just say this:

It's been a long time (like 15 years?) since I've found myself with NEW U2 songs stuck in my head (in a good way ;) ) and randomly singing their NEW songs to myself as I go about my day... but I actually am doing that with SOE. Thumbs up, U2. I think we fell out of sync for a while, but we're back in step with each other again!

    Thank you for this album!

Yes, please give these a rest. I also really dislike "Sweetest Thing" - sorry, Ali. :P I think Ali is totally cool, though!

Personally, I've never been lucky enough to hear "40" or "All I Want Is You" (I've seen 16 live shows since 1997). I'd really love to hear one or both of those.

If you take a look on the back cover of some you can read

"as you're walking, STOP SINGING and start talking"

Where have you found the discrepancy? On the vinyl? The CDs? Just curious. I don't see it.

EDIT: Ah! Wait, I found it - it's on the CD cover. Hmmm...

same here, Omnivox.  I hope they put it into the setlist for the tour.  I'd try and find a reason that fits in with the tone of the new album/tour but it's such an amazing song that I feel no need.  I love Edge's guitar on it.  I think it's still my favorite piece of his guitar playing.

They could record the orchestra like they did for RHMT and play it as the last song before the encore as they walk off stage. And definitely include Walk to the Water lyrics - YESSSS!

  5. This is just sad! Why is this such a mess? I am one of the lucky ones, I guess? I live in the US (Texas) and just received my shipment (all of it). Several days late, but I do have it.

This is very frustrating for all of you who are still waiting!

For years now, I've been saying that the U2 community should develop our own software product so that we don't have to deal with Ticket"master" and Live Nation. I'm a technical writer - I'll help with the documentation, FAQ, etc. :)

  6. I haven't heard the new album yet.

I pre-ordered the "Songs Of Experience Extra Deluxe Boxset + Photo Grey T-Shirt" - which is in West Virginia awaiting shipment. (Expected arrival - Wednesday, December 6th.)

I also have 2 CDs coming from Ticket"master" - expected arrival December 7th.

    Very frustrating indeed.

  7. Yep, I'm going to go there. If ever there was a time to play it live, this is it.

Don't believe what you hear, don't believe what you see
If you just close your eyes you can feel the enemy.
When I first met you girl, you had fire in your soul.
What happened t'your face of melting snow
    Now it looks like this!
And you can swallow or you can spit
You can throw it up, or choke on it
And you can dream, so dream out loud
You know that your time is coming round
So don't let the bastards grind you down.

No, nothing makes sense, nothing seems to fit.
I know you'd hit out if you only knew who to hit.
    And I'd join the movement
If there was one I could believe in

Yeah, I'd break bread and wine
If there was a church I could receive in.
    'Cause I need it now.
    To take the cup
To fill it up, to drink it slow.
    I can't let you go.

And I must be an acrobat
To talk like this and act like that.
And you can dream, so dream out loud
And don't let the bastards grind you down.

If you renewed your subscription any time AFTER The Joshua Tree Tour presale and BEFORE yesterday’s announcement, you WILL be verified.

My subscription gets renewed in July. That means my subscription I paid for in July 2016 was good for the JT tour presale. I ordered tickets back in January of 2017 using a presale code & all was well.

Then I renewed my subscription again when it was due in July of 2017, so I'm good until July 2018.

But now it says I have to renew again.

Is this going to be resolved or do I really have to renew again?

  9. What I cannot understand is why the people "protesting" had to get violent and destroy the property of people who are completely unrelated to this whole situation. I understand peaceful protests, but not the violence.

4 years ago, I found my biological half sister, and we were planning to go to the U2 show together. I drove up from Dallas (10 hours away) to her home in Missouri. It was supposed to be a really special thing - getting to share a U2 show with my sister... but violent people had to ruin that opportunity for us.

There were so many people who came from far away to attend the show in St. Louis. It upsets me that the show has just been completely cancelled - rather than rescheduled. We don't deserve that just because a small percentage of people behaved badly.

  10. I have so many memories! It's hard to narrow them down.

A memory of a 14-year-old me watching the New Year's Day video - my first introduction to U2 on some late night cable TV show - and feeling something I had never felt before.

A 16-year-old me sitting in the back seat of my Mom's car as we drove through Springfield, IL - they played Pride on the radio and I immediately recognized the voice - again, I felt something that I didn't feel with other bands.

A 19-year-old me who was so sad and could find no peace - except when listening to The Joshua Tree through the headphones of my Walkman.

A 25-year-old me who heard Zooropa, and Bono's voice seemed to speak directly to me, asking, "what do you want? what do you want?" and I realized I was in an abusive relationship and I wanted to get out. And so I did get out.

A 26-year-old me who was living in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1994 - far from home and feeling lost. The radio stations sucked, so I made myself a bunch of "mix tapes" and discovered each tape had multiple U2 songs on them - and I FINALLY realized U2 is my favorite band.

A 27-year-old me who went to see my first live U2 show in Kansas City in 1997 - and I ended up meeting all members of the band. Bono touched my hand when he autographed my POP CD because I was trembling so badly. He said, "hey, it's okay." This is one of the highlights of my life!

A 46-year-old me who flew from Dallas to Phoenix to see the IE Tour - they played "Bad," and again I felt Bono was speaking directly to me, asking "what do you want to let go of tonight? Whatever it is, let it go!" and I realized I wanted to let go of my grief. I realized that I could let go of the grief I had held onto for so many years after losing my mom and my sister - I could let go of the grief, but the good memories didn't have to fade away. I cried at the show. My husband didn't understand, but it was such a release for me. It was like a gift.

Sorry for being so long-winded! There are many other memories, but I'll stop for now! If you read this far, thank you! :)

    Peace!

  11. That's weird. If you click on the links, they all say "Audio CD, Import, Limited Edition, September 22, 2017." I added one to my cart and it said "Original recording remastered."

It even includes SOI - are they really releasing a remastered version of that already?

I have no idea what's up. Amazon glitch?
