Must annoy the band and affect the whole atmosphere on the floor not to mention it looks awful as a spectacle .iI have said it before water pistols may be the answer they will soon put them down:)

    :D

This idea made me laugh! I seriously wanted to do this at a Pixies concert I went to a couple weeks ago. I'm already shorter than everyone - now I have to try to dodge the [expletive] phones, too...?

  2. I have noticed this happening at a lot of shows since the invention of "Smart Phones." However, there was one show, recently, where this didn't happen so much. It was at a Garbage show. :) It was so nice to see people actually watching the show.
But... yeah, let's try to be considerate. I doubt the people who read this are the people who engage in this offensive behaviour, though.

  3. Wow, what a show! (Couldn't be there in person but a BIG thanks to all the scopers and mixlrs!)

    BAD!
Eddie Vedder & Mumford & Sons joined on MotD
ONE with the "Do you hear me knocking, lord?" bit! <- I seriously love that and I sing it even when Bono doesn't!
Did The Little Things sound better, or is it growing on me?
Ended with I Will Follow! Such a great surprise :D

Also, it seemed like the band and the fans were more "in the groove" last night (but I wasn't actually there).

    LOVED IT!

The American people did use the strong power of its people. The American people said enough is enough. The American people have spoken.  It is what it is.  Instead of dividing us even more .... we should ALL try and unite together instead of dividing us even more.  That's what should be happening not spouting off about your own personal feeling  work together compromise.  A statue,  painting is not verbally telling me that I'm wrong for what I feel and it should be this way .  This is not the thread to continue this discussion so that's all I'm gonna say about it in this thread.  I just want to hear the music not your thoughts on your political view.  Just the music

Okay, since other people haven't been afraid to respond to this, I have to throw my 2 cents out there even though this thread is supposed to be about the Vancouver show. This is something I have very strong feelings about.

The American PEOPLE chose Hillary. It was actually the electoral college that chose Trump. Which is pretty messed up, IMO.

One of the reasons I like this band so much is that they're not afraid to express their views (or Bono does, anyway) and make people think about things that are going on in the world that we might not otherwise be aware of.

  5. I'd like to learn more about this subject, too.

I wasn't at the Vancouver show *in person* - but I was watching on Periscope. (I have also watched several videos on YouTube.) It seems to me that they've actually drawn the focus away from themselves and put more emphasis on what's displayed on the screen more than they ever have in the past. The screen has played a major role in all the shows I've seen before, but not like this. It's just my impression / opinion, of course.

I have Red Zone tickets for Houston and seats for the Dallas show - so I'm really glad I'll get to observe two different perspectives. Something tells me the visual aspect will be more enjoyable from the seats...

  6. I can't help myself - I love this song so much - I have to say how amazing it was to get to see them perform it last night. I could only watch via Periscope, and I thank everyone who shared the show with us!

Bono changed the lyrics a little right at the beginning (I think?) - "Sometimes I feel like I don't know. Sometimes I feel like ?????" Does anyone know what he said?

I also made a list of the women they showed on the screen. Please let me know if I missed anyone. Thanks! :)

  7. Dear U2, just in case you read these forums... ;)

Please do play A Sort of Homecoming AND Ultra Violet. I have never been lucky enough to hear you play Ultra Violet live and it's my favorite song. (I will be in Dallas, Houston, and hopefully London 2nd show.)

    Thank you <3

  8. Allyson, I have not seen anyone say they have received them yet. To ease your mind, you may want to call Ticketmaster and ask them. And let us know what they say, because it is likely that you are not the only one going over from the States.

Thank you, Mich. They're closed right now, but I can try to call tomorrow. I'll let you know if I learn anything! :)

  9. (I'm moving this question from the London - Twickingham Stadium section because no one has responded.)

Has anyone received their tickets for the London (or any UK) shows?

I'm concerned because I've read that Ticketmaster UK doesn't send tickets out until a few days before a show. (I ordered regular GA tickets for the July 9 show.)

I live in the US and my husband & I are traveling to Europe a few days before the show.

Has anyone had to deal with this issue in the past? If so, how did you handle it?

    Thanks!  :)

  10. So my good friend was lucky enough to meet Adam and ask him this exact question...  At first he said "we've played it" and then when pressed he tried to explain how it was a complex song and it's really a builder and essentially it doesn't really quite fit in with how the shows flow. Something to that effect, and my friend tells the story awesome...  I have a video of him explaining it, and if I can figure out how to post it, I will indeed share, with his permission.

    Cool! Thank you! :)

  11. I have a "Staring at the Sun" CD single with these songs:

"Staring at the Sun - Monster Truck Mix"

"Staring at the Sun - Sad Bastards Mix"

"Staring at the Sun - Lab Rat Mix"

"North and South of the River"

The "Staring at the Sun" mixes all have the same lyrics as the album version though.

I really miss the days when they released singles on physical media with remixes and b-sides.

  12. BTW, great review! I enjoyed it and I think I've told you before that POP is one of my favs. I have theories about why POP wasn't well received. Maybe I'll send you a message about that when I have more time to write. (I've got to head off to work now.) I don't want to get banned from these boards for stating my opinions.

Gone, Mofo, Wake up Dead Man, IYWTVD, Discotheque... really great stuff!
