I hope you are continuing to get well.  I'll be thinking of you and sending positive vibes.

We have power, where many around us do not.  A big storm front moved through last night and knocked out power to 225,000 (and rising) homes. It's a mess.  A huge tree, about half a block from me, got split by a bolt of lightning. (sigh)  Currently, 85,000 homes still have no power.  It's hot and very humid.  I'm thankful we are not one of them.

Also, I mentioned an Irish Terrier named Poitin.  She is my dog's daughter.  She was finally artificially inseminated.  I asked her owner if the Irish moonshine affected the poor guy's performance.  How'd you like to perform sexually with a bunch of experts standing and watching?    haha    Poitin will be having puppies.

    Thank you!

It's not an easy disease. There were days when my legs were so weak that I could barely walk. I hope nobody here ever catches it!

...and since you have prevailed, you get Spain in the Gold Medal game! Congratulations and good luck! 🍀

    And we beat Spain!

Hopefully you'll be recovered soon. There have been cases of people catching it even though they take all precautions - especially with the Delta variant, which is significantly more contagious than other forms - especially if you've only had one dose of vaccine. You are doing your best to be safe and hopefully wearing a mask means you didn't spread it to anyone else.

Over here, we've got politicians who are travelling all over the place, including to red-list countries with lots of cases, and then not bothering to quarantine at all

It must be the Delta variant. It has spread through the country. I usually wear 2 or 3 antiviral masks and a pair of glasses... Sometimes even a faceshield. Unbelievable!

My wife Lisa, who is this account holder, recently passed away from lung cancer, exactly 39 years to the day after we first met as kids. She was an angel on earth and had been a huge fan dating back to the early 80's when we had a short breakup period. U2 became a big part of our reconnection, and became the soundtrack of our life and a borderline obsession for Lisa :)  as we attended every tour, here in Boston, and traveling to many destinations. She fanatically pursued give-away opportunities and was an attendee at the Rattle Hum premier in Dublin in 1988. We have some great photos she took in the Savoy Theatre. At U2 trivia events, she became known as Superfan because she unfairly won every piece of swag :). We traveled to a wedding in Hvar Croatia in August 2016, and at the same time U2 families were vacationing on a super yacht off the coast. - it drove her crazy to see band tweets from locations we had been in the day before- I have a priceless video clip from that trip in which Lisa had a few too many glasses of wine, and thought she spotted Guggi two tables away- I'll treasure it forever. Upon her diagnosis in 2018, even dealing with her illness, we attended all of the Boston IE concerts, the Mohegan Sun concert (which was fantastic), and after she had been through months of combined chemotherapy & radiation followed by immunotherapy treatments, we traveled to Dublin and attended three of the final IE tour shows. We both knew the final Dublin show was likely her last U2 concert- at the time I really wanted to try to have the band meet her, something I've regretted.

I'm in a position of desperation, and this will be a crazy request, but if this message can make it to the band or management, I wanted to ask if Bono, or combined band members could read a short 2 page eulogy I penned for Lisa, for posting on her Facebook page. It would be 2 minutes at most. I'm lost here without her, and I know she would be overwhelmed looking down on us if we could make it happen. In return, I would make a donation in Lisa's name to the the local cancer center where she was treated (well I'm doing that anyway). A photo of Lisa outside of the A3 arena in Nov 2018 is attached.

    Thank you for consideration-

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope the band sees your post.

After being closed for nearly 6 months, I finally got to go back to the library today to get everything ready for our reopening tomorrow :D

People had still been dropping books off at the community centre during the closure, so we've filled a quarantine box already. And the books that *had* been in quarantine had been there since December. I *think* it's safe for those ones to go back on the shelves now

There were also 18 requests that had come in while we've been closed and we managed to find 16 of them B)

I'm so glad that in some parts of the globe things are gradually reopening and getting back to normal.

While in Brazil, we are about to get a third wave (according to cientists).

Now, 6 months and a half is the estimate time for me to be vaccinated!

  6. Happy birthday to the man whose voice and lyrics changed the world!

Wish you great health and love!

Gratitude for all the good things you brought us! My life wouldn't be so fun without U2!

    Take care and stay safe!

I really hope to see you in South America again!

Me too and for all countries/everyone.   There are more vaccines getting ready to be approved soon so here is hoping...

Brazil has a site that says the estimate date for the vaccine according to your age, job and possible risk factors. I took a look at it 4 days ago and it said I'm going to be vaccinated in 7 months and 22 days, which is, next year! 😬

  8. My professor Erik David, who had been teaching the world about quantum physics and the power of high vibrations, just died from coronavirus this morning.

I will never forget the one who healed me from panic disorder. I am very grateful (and know that @dmway is also too) for the teachings to elevate our vibrations.

    Rest in peace.

  9. It would be WONDERFUL to see it again! I saw it twice in Dublin and then twice in Brazil. When I saw it in Dublin, I remember going to HQ Studio a few days later hoping to meet any of the the fantastic four. Then Bono came out to talk to the fans.... We got into a conversation and he asked me "Have you seen the 3D?" And I said: "Yes... It was amazing and I cried the whole movie". Knowing I was from Brazil, he said something like "Very funny when I said Argentina and everybody uuuuhhhh"...

Ps: the boo was because of rivalry on soccer

If anybody would like to see the video, it's here (I'm the one in red):

...and continuing the good news today, I am getting my 1st dose of the Pfizer vaccine this coming Saturday! 😎 Thank you, Biden Administration, for making these vaccines more available more quickly!

At first, I thought I would be lucky to get my 1st dose before the end of May; now, I will have both doses before Memorial Day! Thank goodness. Another of the baby steps back to semi-normality.

    I'm very glad for you!

ps: Praying that Moderna or Pfizer vaccine make it to my country!

I'm watching the news I can find about what is happening in Brazil.  I hope you get the vaccines sooner.  From what they are saying here, you have a very good medical system in place to allow vaccinations.  That's through new reports so pardon me if I am misquoting.  I'm begging the powers that be to help everyone get vaccinated; multiple times a day and I'm being obnoxious about it.  🙂

Yes, we have a (not so) good medical system. It's for everybody and you don't need to pay anything for it, which is great! Part of the population prefers to pay for health care (like me), but it's optional. The vaccines offered here are Sinovac and Aztrazeneca (so far) and it's still in the elderly group. Since we have a large population of young and middle aged people, it's not gonna happen that soon .... I hope I will get it asap, but I don't think it will happen before September.

  12. Since I've had more free time because of the pandemic (I've been working at home since March 2020 and have not been able to meet people), I have spent my free time studying things I've always wanted. I'm graduated in one area, work in another, and interested in a third one! 😆 Now, I've been able to use my time to dedicate to the study of the third one: Systemic Constellations, Quantum therapy and Floral therapy. I finally found myself!

I got my second Moderna vaccination today.  While I was getting it, I got a text saying one of my favorite bands, Dawes, just announced a tour.  I'll be seeing at least three of those shows and they always announce more for Spring.  They are even coming to a venue I can walk to, drink and safely walk home.  Normally, I've got quite a drive and cannot drink. That's six concerts in my future, including these three Dawes shows.

Lucky you. I guess I'll be vaccinated by the end of the year!
