  1. I was lucky enough to get into one (yes, there were many) aftershow parties at Earls Court during the Elevation Tour, thinking back, I'm sure it was the last night of the London shows.. One free drink to many, and the worry of getting the last train home, me and my mate (who could barely walk) left - thing is, you don't leave via the usual route, you are shoved out via the loading bay, where huge trucks & sleeper coaches are parked.. a bit giddy after spotting several Z list celebrities (and the free booze) we both found ourselves outside, at the top of a very long car ramp - so naturally
  2. New track from The Plea, called "I Am The Miracle". Let me know what you think.
  3. Anyone had the Zoo TV neon logo from the stage set? That would look cool. Or this cartoon face;
  4. I really fancy a few pints of Guinness right now!!
  5. I'm not religious, I won't be praying, but I'll be hoping that the situation eases - not only an earthquake, then a massive tsunami, now radiation leaks and sub zero temperatures, people on their hands and knees searching for loved ones / possessions - wrapped in whatever they can find to keep warm - and this is in the worlds 3rd largest economy.. It's simply awful.
  6. Yes - sorry, got a bit grumpy there. Monica.. come on.. "dunno about May 21st but someone predicted a tremendous earthquake in Roma on May 11th, and he's the same one who predicted the one in Abruzzo, no one listened to him and he was wrong only with the date" this is not a prediction, he got the date wrong!! Here's one. I also predict many of the critics that slag off U2 will thoroughly enjoy themselves at Glastonbury this summer, and it will pain them to write a good review
  7. No offense to those that believe / have faith (I don't think you are a fool, unlike the bible's opinion of me), but for me, I saw the light years ago, and in this order; Tooth Fairy Father Christmas God / Jesus And we are infact just clever and resourceful animals, living on a beautiful and unique planet during a small patch of time when its able to sustain us.. of course we're speeding the process of killing the planet through our greed and over breeding as well as killing ourselves by fighting wars in the name of imaginary friends. May 21st 2011? December 21st 2012? Pah! What
  8. [quote name='cathkel wrote: johnclerkenwell']Ha. Mine was Zoo TV at Wembley. I hated U2. I hated everything about them, including their fans. No really. Anyway, a friend had 4 tickets, and someone drop out - so I went along "for a laugh", taking the p*ss out of Bono etc all the way. Stood about watching the support acts and this massive stage set up.. Paul Oakenfold spun Disposable Hero's "Television" and the stadium fell into darkness.. then a HUGE tv screen that I'd been starting at all afternoon suddenly popped into life with a deafening thump.. then another, then another, then a

  10. Laptop fried its hard drive last week, been offline since then - gutted. Anyway, a bit of light relief - My new favourite band. Video looks like Anton Corbijn shot it!!
  11. Just got this via Facebook - something to do with the video for Praise Be. I'm *very* excited!! Bono - get this lot to support you and your lot!! Watch this - it's short btw! Yeah Yay!!
  12. Totally get what you mean - his style is definitely a cross between Bono and Richard Ashcroft - does anyone remember Ian MacCulloch from Echo & The Bunnymen? He's in there too for me. Anyway, those three fantastic singers merged into one - what a vocal!! I'll be in the front row Who's with me?
  13. Just read this on the Irish music blog I Swear I'm Not Paul, listed as one of the most anticipated Irish albums of 2011 - we could be onto something here!! "Brand new pop-rock act the Plea are currently putting the finishing touches to their debut album. Lead single ‘Praise Be’ sounded just like the kind of stuff Bono should be making these days (vocally and all), and I’ve also had a chance to hear some of the other tracks from the record. It’s going to be a massive radio-friendly rock monster. The soundtrack of your summer? Most definitely."
  14. Thanks for listening, I was concerned you'd think I was spamming! Not seen them live yet, but they so far sound amazing - those vocals are awesome. Would love to hear them do something from the Joshua Tree era U2, like Running To Stand Still / One Tree Hill Facebook page here
  15. Some clear comparisons to U2 from fellow countrymen The Plea, and they are working with producer Chris Potter (U2 / The Verve / Blur). Have great hopes for this lot. Been described as "what U2 fans should listen to" (instead of the last U2 album) which is a bit harsh, but the views of blogger I Swear I'm Not Paul Listen to "Praise Be" here (it's a legal download too) and "Miracle" here.
