  1. Looking forward to the JT30 film coming out on laser disc. ⏪⏮▶️⏹⏭⏩
  2. You're absolutely correct @adrnik I was thinking of the Fish Out Of Water mix not the Perfecto mix.
  3. Personally I think that the entire audio should be available as soon as the subscription is renewed. That way we can enjoy what we paid for while awaiting the physical item to arrive. The way SOI/SOE Live was rolled out with random songs every six weeks or so didn't make sense to me.
  4. Hi Doc, I completely agree with you about the perfecto mix of Even Better... it's great and I play it regularly. This arrangement was performed by the band at Glastonbury and onwards during the 2011 leg of 360. It's a knockout live. I also like the Trent Reznor mix of Get On Your Boots that is on Artificial Horizon. He took the manic energy (Edge's riff) out of it, calmed it down and made the song much more likeable for me. On the bonus disc of Greatest Hits 90-00 there is a remix of Dirty Day that I quite like. It's called The Junk Day mix. It's got more punch and energy than the original. There are a multitude of Lemon remixes and everyone is an improvement on the original. I always found the album version very repetitive and frankly boring. The remixes change that by adding to it and giving it variety. The version that I particularly like is called the Yard mix or something with the word yard in it. I have it on 10" but it has to be available in other forms. There are some decent U2 remixes but it really seems that they have been going overboard since POP. I heard a mix of Streets on SiriusXM that was astounding bad recently. Just Bono's vocals over tepid synths. The 1990's were the golden age for U2 remixes in my opinion. Everything since then has been them killing the goose to get the golden egg.
  5. To be honest I always assumed that the Apollo release would be incomplete and edited. That seems to be the norm for U2 nowadays. (Look at the NYC show on JT30 deluxe and Chicago on ATYCLB deluxe). We are getting previous unreleased live material which hands down beats the thirty year old remixes we've gotten in recent years. Obviously the full show would be ideal but that seems unlikely.
  6. Excellent! Great choice for the annual gift. As stated above I really hope that the full show is released. Very exciting news.
  7. I came across a copy of "Medium, Rare & Remastered" on Discogs that was listed as being in near mint condition. The price was within reason so I took a gamble. It arrived today and looks almost new. Played and handled seldomly by the looks of things. I'm going to wrap it and put it under the tree addressed to me from Santa. 🎅🤶
  8. Back in summer of 1989 I was walking up the hill to Sunday's Well and I spotted Joe O walking down the hill on the opposite side. 'Twas the beard that gave him away.
  9. 2021 is the 30th anniversary of Achtung, Baby! so something related to that album seems more likely. Please no more remixes.
  10. I can't articulate this properly so please bear with me. In the last few years I have come to realize that there is only love. Everything else is delusion. When some behaves badly it is because they are turning away from love. When I say LOVE I'm not referring to romantic or family love. I mean all of us are in a sea of love but don't know, just as fish don't notice water. As I said initially it is difficult for me to explain this realization but I have found that once I paid attention to it I noticed love more and more.
  11. My copy of BOY (RSD white vinyl edition) arrived today. I was fortunate enough to buy it online from a record store who charged retail price. Otherwise it was the resellers on Ebay who want way too much. It sounds fantastic. Adam's bass comes through loud and clear.
  12. JT got two different anniversary reissues in 2007 and 2017 so I wouldn't be at all surprised if AB got the same treatment.
  13. The obvious answer is a 30th anniversary rerelease of "Achtung, Baby!" Possibly the JT30 tour will finally get a live film release, it would be cool to have some footage from the JT2019 tour added to the already existing JT2017 tour film. I do hope that they have spent down time in 2020 writing and perhaps recording. New music in the new year would be welcome but I don't know how likely that would be. Perhaps they'll spring a surprise album on us similar to the unexpected SOI. All in all.... who knows? There will be no tour in 2021, that's the one prediction I feel comfortable making.
  14. It's an NPR session from 2002 and not at all what I expected from Willie. Just acoustic guitar, electric guitar, stand up bass and a small drum kit. The songs are all slow and jazzy. A very cool, chilled out vibe that brings Christmas to mind for some reason.
  15. One hundred years ago today. Rest in peace.
  16. I came in to mention potato vodka but I see that it has already been covered. Carry on.
  17. As the saying goes @Manohlive: "You can make some of the people happy some of the time but you can make all of the people happy all of the time by not giving them even more remixes." 😉
  18. A friend recommended I check out a certain Grateful Dead album which I bought used on Ebay. It just arrived in the mail and the package seemed heavy for just one CD. I opened it and turns out that the seller included SEVEN bonus CDRs. These are a Willie Nelson radio session, a three disc GD show and a concert by The David Nelson Trio. Very cool surprise on a Friday 13th.
  19. OK, technically this is yesterday's good thing. I got to go to what seems to be my only live show of 2020. Mythology, featuring my buddy Jordan on drums, played an outdoor set at a private residence in upstate rural New Jersey. It was beautiful and sunny, the leaves were just the right Autumn colouring. We sat under a pine tree and were able to relax because everyone was respecting the mask and distancing rules. The band describe themselves as prog rock but they incorporate elements of blues and jam band influences. It was great to be out and about catching up with friends.
  20. Everyone who has posted here has expressed my own thoughts so I won't repeat what has already been said. What I will say is that either U2 or people in their organization seem to think that there is an insatiable demand for remixes. Just a quick glance through this forum shows that fans are interested in previously unreleased live material. Remixes are a curiosity/novelty not a major selling point.
