  1. I would definitely take the chance. As I said in an earlier post I went down to the Apollo last year for the Guns n Roses show without tickets, eventually got in with tickets 10 feet from the stage. It was a long wait though for me, although people who showed up a couple hours beforehand were able to get in. Plus if you do get in you'll likely get a lot of cool freebies like I did last year (shirts, posters, etc). If you want to catch them coming in or out after I think they come in on 126th street -
  2. Remember if you don't have tickets or win tickets somehow it is still possible to get into the show - we did just that for the Guns n Roses one last year. You just need to put in the time waiting and it certainly helps to befriend someone from the SiriusXM staff many of whom will be floating around all day outside the Apollo. It's a chance worth taking IMO. Although with a two week old baby at home we'll probably skip it this year -
  3. I went to the Guns n Roses SiriusXM subscriber event at the Apollo last year. The way that worked was that SiriusXM sent out an email saying that on a certain date and time to click the link in the email, and request up to 2 tickets to the show. They were first come first served so they went very quickly, and I think only a portion of the seats in the Apollo were available for the contest. My wife and I didn't get tickets, but we went down to the Apollo on show day very early in the morning in case there were any people who didn't show up hoping we could get in. Eventually we did get in - and
  4. I actually like the gift quite a bit, although I have to say i was expecting something to do with the Paris gigs - a dvd or maybe a cd or both. Pick up some decent frames for these and I think these prints will look pretty good up on the wall.
  5. I just checked my account and it looks like the expiration date has been extended until February 16th - LOGIN NAME danielct DISPLAY NAME (Your Community Name) DanielCT EMAIL STATUS Verified ACCOUNT ACTIVE UNTIL 16 February 2016
  6. Ha! That's the key word, should. As of now I haven't heard anything back. If I don't I'll certainly renew anyway, as I don't want to lose out on any pre-sale opportunities for the next tour, whenever that is. I'll just have to wait and see what the gift is later.
  7. Well, I just got an email from U2.com saying the following - "Thanks for your email! A Fan Club Support rep should get back to you within 12 hours. Please don’t reply to this email as it won’t get forwarded to a representative. Be assured that we will answer your original email ASAP! Thanks for being a fan!" So hopefully I'll have something useful to tell all of you tomorrow.
  8. This is from the 'help' section on the U2 website - Q – I renewed my subscription after October 1, 2015 and selected a gift I had received previously. Will I be sent the 2016 gift once it’s available? A – Yes, we’re now not dispatching gifts with renewals after October 1, 2015 but all those who have renewed will automatically receive the new 2016 gift once that’s available in 2016. So it looks like if we renew we'll get the new gift, whenever that is, even though it hasn't been announced yet and we checked an old gift when we renewed.Of course it would be nice to know what the gift a
  9. I finally recieved my allbum today, a week after the email was sent. The tracking number never worked on the UPS site. I was surprised how flimsy the mailer was that it was sent in, but everything looks ok inside.
  10. I finally got my email notification of shipment yesterday, thankfully. A few years back the wife bought me a nice turntable/radio/cd burner combo unit that is ready and waiting for this to arrive.
  11. I went to Boston 3 with a few friends, but will be doing the last 4 NYC shows alone - 3 in GA. I like being able to do what I want, when I want.
  12. I attended Boston 3, my first U2 show in 23 years, and it was thoroughly fanatstic from start to finish. Even from the upper reaches of the upper deck. I can tell you when Bono started to speak before The Crystal Ballroom and said 'we've only done this one once before' or something like that, I knew what was coming next. Just great. Loved every second of it. Now I have to wait 10 days for the next show, as I'm going to the last 4 in NYC, 3 of them GA. Good stuff baby!
  13. I'm surprised there aren't more people on the list, honestly. Have fun at the show! I'll be out there on Tuesday. No GA until the NYC shows though.
  14. It would be pretty cool to see Patti Smith up on stage with the guys, maybe doing Dancing Barefoot with Bono. New York would be a great way to cap off the final show there.
