We seem to do this every 4 years, so....

Less than a week to go until the biggest sporting event of the year kicks off in Brazil !

Who are you cheering for ?

Will Lionel Messi win the Golden Boot ?

Who will win the tournament ?

Use this thread throughout the tournament for friendly banter (play nice..... :P)

*disclaimer: I am aware of the current social troubles in Brazil. This thread is in no way meant to take away from the struggles our Brazilian friends are having.

I've set up a "tipping" competition (pick the result of the games) if you want to join in.

Its free (yes, I said free) to enter !

The prize is bragging rights, that you are the best "tipper' !

To enter:

  1. Go to http://www.oztips.com/
  2. Click the 'REGISTER' button on the homepage and setup a Login (if you don't already have one with OzTips).
  3. Once you have successfully registered a Username and Password, click the 'JOIN A COMP' button.
  4. You will be asked to enter an OzTips Comp Number and Password.
  5.
  6. The Comp you've been asked to join is:
  7. Comp#: 305187
  8.
  9. Password: wcbrazil2014

If you know of any other friendly competitions (fantasy, sweep, anything ) ,post them here too, so we can join the fun :D

Mr K I am happy I was right to wait to open such a thread :) Now...are you sure to want me again in your league? :P
I am on the bus to my way back home and in 7 hours I am supposed to pack a little suitcase, create a team for McDonalds FIFA Fantasy Cup, sleep, join OZ league and go to the airport. Just need to choose the proper order :P

And yes... Brazil to win and Spain as second. Italy should be harmless and England is the best replacement to Qatar for WC 2022 :)

To be entered by June 8 ( I think local which means Netherlands!)

http://www.scorito.c...zootopia-league (english available at top right hand)

It takes some time to fill in everything but nothing to do till round 2 which means once the 1/8 finalists are known. Predictions for second round must be entered by June 28th

Fifa.com is plenty of games and activities for Brazil 2014. There are prizes but you can join for fun.

Teams for McDonalds Fantasy world cup can be made from today 3pm (referring to my local time which means in 12h30 min from now!)

16th of June, six-oh-oh EST, door bell rings

And I say, go away if you wanna stay alive a bit longer

Ghana vs. USA is on with the show

Three

And in this case, "three" alludes to the number of goals that will be scored in the game, at least if my psychic powers are real (they are not) ;)

It's a pity FIFA will benefit more from this than Brazil actually will.

This for sure!

The legacy won't be big since many infrastructure changes are not completely done. Some of them were only promises.
