U2 may reconsider joining Rock Band. A year ago, the Irishquartet was in talks with the video game maker about lending theirsongs and likenesses to a version of the popular series. At that time,U2 bowed out, but the debut of The Beatles: Rock Band, with its faithful depictions of the Fab Four, may change the band’s minds. “Wedefinitely would like to be in there, but we felt some of thecompromises weren’t what we wanted,†bassist Adam Clayton tells USATODAY's Edna Gundersen. “That could change. I love the idea that that’swhere people are getting music, and we’d love to be in that world. We’ll figure something out. What The Beatles have done, where theanimation is much more representative of them, is what we’re interestedin, rather than the one-size-fits-all animation. We didn’t want to becaricatured.â€

U2 is already following The Beatles into the recordbooks. The Liverpool quartet was the first act to ever play a stadium, packing 55,600 fans into Shea Stadium on Aug. 15, 1965. The gross:$304,000. U2, starring in the biggest touring production ever staged,is breaking records at every stop on its high-tech 360° Tour. The banddrew a record 84,472 to Giants Stadium on Sept. 24. The take? Roughly$8 million. Read more from Bono and the guys in our story here, our cool panoramic interactive view from the stage here and see concert photos here
