Whilst waiting for U2 to get back on the road again, I thought it would be a good opportunity to make my own U2 Live album happy.gif . Why? Because it's never been done before, not like this anyway. I've always preferred U2 songs played live, even the band once said that there songs "come alive" when being played to thousands of people. Of course, it would be nice for the guys to release something official and not just from one concert, that's been done already. So with that in mind, I've begun making my own 2 disc live album with covers and artwork included (based on the U2 Show book) using all exsisting live tracks taken from singles, albums and dvds and all mixed together without any breaks this is going to sound great glasses.gif

I've based the tracklisting on the most current setlist with a few changes made to accommodate a few more tracks.

This is how it will look...

Disc 1

1. Get On Your Boots (Live At The Rose Bowl - 360 DVD)

2. Magnificent (Live from Somerville)

3. Beautiful Day (Live from Farmclub.com)

4. Until The End Of The World (Live from Boston - Elevation tour DVD)

5. New Year's Day (Live from Red Rocks)

6. I Will Follow (Live From Hattern)

7. Out Of Control (Live from Boston)

8. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (Live from Paris - Joshua Tree boxset DVD)

9. City Of Blinding Lights (taken from the video, live from Vancouver, I think)

10. Vertigo/Stories For Boys (Live from Chicago - Vertigo tour DVD)

11. I'll Go Crazy if I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (Live U2360 Remix)

12. Sunday Bloody Sunday (Live From Sarajevo)

Disc 2

1. Stay (Faraway So Close) (Live from Toronto)

2. Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own (Live from HQ)

3. Pride (In The Name Of Love) (Taken from Rattle & Hum DVD)

4. Staring At The Sun (Live from Mexico City)

5. Walk On (Taken from America: A Tribute to Heroes)

6. Bad (Taken from Wide Awake In America)

7. Where The Streets Have No Name (Live From Rotterdam)

8. One (Live from ZooTV Live in Sydney DVD)

9. Zoo Station (Live from Buenos Aires)

10. The Fly (Live from G-Mex, Manchester)

11. Ultra Violet (Light My Way) (Live from 360 tour Wembley Stadium)

12. With Or Without You (taken from U2 Go Home DVD)

So what do you think? Would you change it anyway, add something different. Would appreciate some feedback!

p.s. and yes, I do have waaaaaay too much time on my hands laugh.gif and no whinging that I haven't included Breathe laugh.gif

I would include the version of Vertigo from the Milan DVD, rather than the Chicago DVD. As for The Fly, that could be the 'Stop Sellafield' version included on the COBL single. And maybe you could include Electrical Storm live from Gothenburg? How about the version of SBS at the MTV Awards with Jay-Z? Apart from that, it's great, and I'm not fussed one bit about Breathe.

With some free audio editing software, you can rip audio from the U2 live DVD's. Take out all the small talk and crop the start and ends of their songs. Then make a CD or a playlist out of it....sounding like it's professionally done. Here's my current playlist:

1. No Line On The Horizon (U2 360 @ Rose Bowl)

2. Get On Your Boots (U2 360 @ Rose Bowl)

3. Elevation (Vertigo In Chicago)

4. Mysterious Ways (U2: Go Home)

5. Magnificent (U2 360 @ Rose Bowl)

6. Gone (Elevation: Live From Boston)

7. Until The End Of The World (Elevation: Live From Boston)

8. New Year's Day (U2: Go Home)

9. Surrender (Under A Blood Red Sky)

10. Electrico Co. (The Joshua Tree: Live From Paris)

11. I Will Follow (Elevation: Live From Boston)

12. Out Of Control (U2: Go Home)

13. Sunday Bloody Sunday/Get Up, Stand Up (Elevation: Live From Boston)

14. Bullet The Blue Sky (U2: Go Home)

15. The Unforgettable Fire (U2 360 @ Rose Bowl)

16. Moment Of Surrender (U2 360 @ Rose Bowl)

17. Bad/Ruby Tuesday/Sympathy For The Devil (Rattle And Hum)

18. Where The Streets Have No Name (Rattle And Hum)

19. Angel Of Harlem (U2: Go Home)

20. Pride (U2: Go Home)

Encore

21. Mofo (Popmart In Mexico)

22. Vertigo/Stories For Boys (Vertigo In Chicago)

23. Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me (Popmart In Mexico)

24. The Fly (Elevation: Live From Boston)

25. Ultraviolet (U2 360 @ Rose Bowl)

26. With Or Without You (Rattle And Hum)

Now, time to find a way to do it in DVD format.

7. Out Of Control (Live from Boston)

This should be replaced with the live version from Slane DVD. The story about going to London to score a record deal, but not staying in London, not going to NYC, but staying and basing their crew in Dublin city is one of U2's iconic live moments.

Hey Kris, I went to Slane and the Earls Court gig before Slane. At the Earls Court gig Bono did the exact same speech, but instead of talking about Dublin, he talked about how they lived down the road from the Earls Court Arena in 1980. laugh.gif

:D

I thought it was pretty good at the time mate!

Nah, it's just funny how Bono has a real knack for making things look spontaneous.

out of control from slane is just fantastic! even though its slower it is still one of the best songs they played on the night!

slane and under a blood red sky are my favorite u2 live dvd's. infact i think you find its most of u2's fans favorites.
