Bono and Chris Martin honor Anton Corbijn

Posted: November 28, 2011

By: Liseth Meijer

Bono was in Amsterdam this afternoon, where he and Chris Martin honored photographer Anton Corbijn, who received a lifetime achievement award from a Dutch culture funding organization.

Bono and Chris Martin performed with the Metropole Orchestra, and Bono recited work by late Dutch artist Herman Brood.

Corbijn received the award for being an important role model to his generation's popular culture and an international example for photographers, designers and art directors.

UPDATE: We've since learned that Bono sang "One" with the Metropole Orchestra and recited Herman Brood's "Get Lost." You can watch a video of the "One" performance on Facebook, and watch the "Get Lost" recital below.

How was Chris Martin?
Amazing!! Couldn't find the whole video though. He sang Viva La Vida on the piano. It's the music video Anton Corbijn directed as well as the One video. Very nice to honor someone who is alive and well. They all seemed very happy to be there to give him this honor.

Wonderful performances, by both, and Paul Hewson, are you okay ? ((Hugs))
Ahhh...that's sweet love! I'm sure Bono is fine, must be kind of difficult singing the One song in front of everybody. Especially when your looking back and seeing images of your Dad on the screen. It was brave of him to do that.
