Am I The Only Person that benefited from the Verified Fan rules??

I was shocked to get my hard ticket via UPS today - 2 days after the presale1!!  GA in NJ. Got an email today that “your tickets are being printed” this am and got home from work and my hard ticket was delivered. I didn’t pay any extra for expedited delivery - just the normal shipping fee. I’m sorry for the hell that everyone else is going through but this has been the best experience I’ve had with presale since before Vertigo. Every fan club presale since I joined U2.com in 2005 has been a nightmare for me - never got GAs- only nosebleeds if I was able to get tickets at all. For JT the only tickets that came up for me were VIP - so I spent the $$ for them. Maybe it’s karma??? Maybe because I bought the VIP tickets previously (causing much marital discord over the $$$ I spent)? All I can say is that after 20+ years of being a fan club member, I was finally to get a good ticket via this verified presale. I may be the anomaly as a U2.com fan but this was the first time it worked for me. And I went into this prepared to be disappointed after my experience with the Verified Fan Bruce On Broadway lottery. Everything I read about the fan club and Citibank presale as well as the “general” sale on Monday matches what the Bruce club said about his Broadway show sales. Bruce’s fans are just as pissed off over that situation as us U2 fans are about this. And it has not been addressed (to my knowledge). Peace & Love!!

Same here. I had GA’s for Boston less than 5 minutes after the Experience group presale began. I remember thinking, “Wow, they’ve finally got a good system going now”. And then I started reading all the posts. From the looks of it, this one was worse than the Vertigo debacle.

I also got lucky. I've never before been able to buy a GA in an arena in a pre-sale or general sale, ever since the Vertigo tour, and was for the first time able to get GA to Boston in the first five minutes of the Experience sale. My husband got GA to NJ in the first minute of the Innocence sale.  Then I was able to get two more GA to Boston with my Citi card, for a friend who had an Innocence code and of course was unable to get GA.  THEN...I couldn't believe my luck and started trying for 2 more GA to any show at all, just to give to some fan who was shut out, since I could not believe my luck and already had the tickets I needed....and I tried for half an hour but there were no more GAs to be found anywhere for me, after 5 minutes into the Citi sale.  Anyway, this is my first time ever being lucky.  On the I & E tour I got RZ once, then seats, despite trying up until 5 minutes before each show time to try to get a GA.    I really feel for everyone who has not been lucky. I don't know why I was.  I will try for more GA on Monday, if I'm selected, just to see if my luck continues so I can share with shut-out friends.

I was extremely lucky. I got 2 GAs for Nassau Coliseum in the eXperience pre-sale and picked up a third in the Citi pre-sale.  One for my husband, one for my teenager and one for me.

I was shut out by VF for both Springsteen on Broadway and for the Harry Potter Play - standby for both events, no codes, no chance at tickets. I was fortunate enough to score lottery tickets for SoB (phenomenal show!). I am hoping that we can get tickets for HPP eventually. I know how badly that system works and was shocked at the ease of getting tickets for U2.

That said, only allowing the fan club members to buy 2 tickets and allowing the sponsor's group 4 tickets is disgraceful. Not having GA tickets available for the innocence pre-sale was also a huge mistake. Distributing codes to the fan club members via a lottery was a travesty and needs to be rectified when they add more dates.

I also had great success, I do see a lot of folks posting that there were major issues in the process for them, but I think it is the minority that had troubles with the majority going through as expected.

I do have to say though that I am lucky I was able to get GA, because the cost of any other tickets would have been very difficult for me to swallow!  I understand supply/demand and knowing this is arena vs. stadium that will elevate the prices, but for me to spend the $700 for other tickets plus travel would have been tough.

I hope those with the issues are able to get them resolved.

I got lucky in Experience group.  My wife was not lucky in Innocence group.  I guess I'll take her to the concert (I usually take an old buddy and my wife takes his wife) .....  I had GA for StL for JT and she had RZ.  Heartbroken when concert was cancelled especially after 900 miles drive.  Was hoping to get tickets for this time around to make up for it.
