Glad you got sorted ok. Whole presale experience has been poor for so many. The communication needs to be improved to reduce the copious amounts of questions.  No reflection on the mods who have been so patient and helpful to all.

To be fair I think it said at first presale that Dublin and Belfast were happening but the dates would be announced later. Irrespective it would be highly unusual if U2 did not play in Dublin so many will have saved codes expecting that. What galls me is not being able to split the code - but that debate is on another thread.

Enjoy the shows when they come round. U2 will not be touring forever and the new album sounds great so I am sure it is money well spent.

I don’t think the website is unusable personally. If you don’t log on often it can take a moment to remember where things are but I clearly remember it stating from the outset that U2 were going to be announcing the tour dates for Europe and it specified that Dublin and Belfast would be included but that the actual dates weren’t finalised at that time.  It may not have repeated that on the tours page ( I can’t remember) but it was headlined elsewhere so wouldn’t have taken long to search for.  We also got an email about it directly to our registered mailbox announcing this as well.  As we had all eagerly been anticipating the European dates and presale process since the NA ones had gone on sale, even if I hadn’t logged on for a while, I was not going to miss that email with my presale info.

As for the reasoning being to hold back the dates......

To be honest, I think it is actually meant as a nice gesture from U2 to the people of their home country. The Ireland shows always have a huge demand and attract many people from outside Ireland. By publishing the Irish dates later, this makes these people from outside Ireland to secure tickets for other shows, and therefore, these codes will no longer participate in the Irish presale. Which means that the people from Ireland have to compete less with others and have much higher chances to score tickets for the shows in Ireland.

Of course, hope you will eventually score the Irish tickets you want.

I’m not sure why this would make a big difference.  Everyone knew that Dublin and Belfast would be announced so everyone in the world who wanted to go and see them in Dublin (for many people it’s a bucket list thing) would surely have saved their codes anyway.  The competition for tickets is always going to be fierce and Irish residents have only as much chance as anyone else from outside of Ireland to put their hat in the ring.    Just my thoughts and I am very very glad for you to have got tickets - Milan and Ireland - wow!  That will be special.  I like the website - especially the forums around the presales as the full range of human emotions comes out and it can be frustrating and fun, but I do have a bit of time on my hands at the moment and really need to take a break from it as I am getting RSI and spending too much time looking at them! ?

So it's not enough that we're paying over the odds for the subscription,

Just thought - I don’t know if others think that the subscription cost is ‘over the odds’...I don’t.  It’s less than the cost of a cup of coffee each month and the subscription gifts (ok -,the ‘lesser spotted’ subscription gifts!) are great when they arrive as well as the free content not to mention the opportunity to participate in presales.  Up until this time around, presales have always been a breeze, now there are just too many with unfair allocations of the best seats standing released to longest subscribers - but I’m not going to get into that here as there has been enough said elsewhere about that!  Despite this, the monthly cost is small for potentially a lot of gain.  Just my opinion here.
