P.S. I also love the coincidence (or not - maybe that’s why he has his surname) that his last name is slang for “fart” in the UK. I just kept that in mind every time I heard his name for the past 4 years.

We've often referred to him over here as "the racist old fart" - especially during the protests when he visited. Although it has ruined baked beans for me. My neighbour's son, when he was little, used to call beans "beans what trump" because they made him fart.

Come to think of it, baked beans are also a similar shade of orange

R.I.P. to one of the few nationally-liked celebrities, almost an institution unto himself, Alex Trebek.

For those living abroad, he brought back and made more popular than its original incarnation the game show here known as Jeopardy. His eventual passing was a known thing for quite a while - he had cancer and let the world know as soon as he could. He lived for quite a while after the original diagnosis, but the disease was too strong in the long run.

I’ll take “I Hope You’re Time In Heaven Is A Well-Deserved Rest For You” for a $1000, Alex...

RIP Bones Hillman, bass player from legendary Australian band Midnight Oil.

I met them when they were at Summerfest, which is a big music festival where I live.  A friend was doing to spot for that stage and got me backstage.  They were all very nice and made sure I had plenty of free beer.  Seeing them live was a treat.  They were great.

Sean Connery- I enjoyed him in The Hunt For Red October and many others beyond James Bond.  I always enjoyed his sense of humor when being interviewed.  He had that shyte eating grin which was intoxicating to me.  It seemed like he never took fame too seriously and had fun with it.  I hope that's true.  I was going to post about him but was hoping someone from across the Atlantic would do so. I've always thought he was a cool man.

I remember seeing the SNL Jeopardy where Will Ferrell is Alex Trebak and someone plays Sean Connery as a guest contestant.  Sean Connery keeps picking on Alex Trebak.  We roared and rewinded the VHS a bunch of times to watch it again so we could keep laughing.

Alex Trebek Dies: 'Jeopardy!' Host Was 80 - Variety

Alex Trebak - 80 years old.

😭 😭 😭

I've always thought he was a very classy gentleman.  You do not call during Jeopardy and the football game.  These are two cardinal rules in my circle of friends.  Very sad loss.   I hope we can make more advancements in pancreatic and other cancer cures.

I did not see this when I posted the above.  I was wondering...
