I hope this is just the announcement of a U2 tour starting in Las Vegas. If not, what about the rest of the no US fans? This isn't going to be a full worldwide tour. It's going to be a residency at the newly built Las Vegas MSG Sphere, which may last well into 2024 as the arena is scheduled to open sometime in September of this year. A TV ad is supposedly going to air tonight during the Super Bowl to announce the planned endeavor.

I am very leery of Ticketmaster given what's happened with past U2 sales and what we've seen from them with other artists. Two different pre-sales for the Bono surrender book tour, and I was unable to get tickets. That being said it was a very small venue here’s to hoping with the large venue we will all have a chance to sit somewhere. And to be honest, I wish Ticketmaster would go back to the days where you would just click to get the best available ticket. I would sit anywhere in a price range - choosing tickets to have them end up in other peoples carts just waste time. Terrible system.

Is there a reasonably priced hotel that you'd recommend? Obviously a central location would be best as our feet will be our carriage. Hey there, I think a good mix of "nice place" and "reasonably priced" would the MGM Grand. It was a monorail stop, which is a great, easy way to get around the strip. https://www.lvmonorail.com/

The most recent Bono Beacon subscriber ticket opportunity was set up well, from an approach standpoint. IMO, they’d be wise to repeat it.
Subscriber dwenn Posted February 12 Subscriber Share Posted February 12 No joke, took a 2nd job to prepare for this. I suspect they realize the travel costs and this won't be obscenely priced, for whatever that is anymore. I also think the idea is there are less travel and production costs for the band since they don't travel. Having said that I feel like $350 is going to be the bottom level to get in. It is a new, never before seen approach to concerts, maybe it won't change the game as much as we have been used to since most shows they do change the game already. I do think if they do a September October only, the inventory could get tough as the spectacle will attract other non core fans. I have a little faith that they won't completely screw people, but they are tied to Live Nation, meaning also TM and also MSG so we will soon find out. Good luck everyone hope to see you on the Strip.

I don’t know that a video dome is going to translate to a rectangular video stream, but this is something they could conceivably sell as a virtual experience for people with a VR headset… after the residency concludes. They filmed a few E&I shows with 360 cameras and nothing ever came of it.

(Are you speaking in general or for U2?) I’m sure tickets will be very expensive. Wish I had worked a part-time job too - Good thinking! Unknown to you, I’m coming all the way from Australia so nipping to Vegas for the weekend isn’t really an option for me Just a bit of wishful thinking on my part, to make the trip worthwhile 😊 They definitely aren't. Hotels for F1 week are largely booked, and those that are left are outrageously expensive. The venue is also being used as part of the track. There are plenty of options, and travel around the resort corridor of Las Vegas is relatively easy can also be quite cheap. As far as Strip properties go... Here's a general idea. Higher the tier, more money you can expect to pay. And of all the major Strip hotels - they're all of at least the quality of, say, an older Courtyard Marriott. Even the Trashy Castle (Excalibur)... it's old, corny and outdated... but there's nothing truly wrong with the rooms per se. And it'll be cheap. Just don't stay at Circus Circus.
