First time U2 concert goer here. What time of day is the best time to start lining up if you want a spot right by the stage?

The earlier the better i would say. For I.E. tour at the Garden i was in line by 8AM and I was #50 in line and got in front of Edge.  Gillette is a march larger footprint so you should get great viewing angles

  2. Not sure if they will or not, good point on the multiple shows in a close area (NY and Boston)... That may make it less likely. But I was really hoping for a Saturday night in Boston!

Do you think they would add a show prior to Sunday for Boston?  Seems odd that they would announce a show prior to the original one.  Has U2 done this before?  I would expect that any additional shows would be Monday...Hope i am right.  I have 4 GA for Sunday.

  3. Got section 102 for Boston, pretty happy about that. Went in thinking I'd get floor seats, but with a bad back, I need to be able to sit between bands, and before the show. $105.00 + fees, not too bad. Now just waiting for them to add the Saturday night show so that I'll have buyers remorse for going to the Sunday night show - LOL Murphy's Law!

Are they talking about a Saturday show?  I would think that any additional shows would be after Sunday...

  4. My Vivid Seats story- I had purchased 2 GA tickets to the July 15 show in Boston back in January or February. Debit card was mailed to my house. I entered the venue last night and the debit card is invalid. I am directed to talk to box office. Box office tells me that they cannot do anything but I should call Vivid Seats. Now I am flustered and actually enter train station to go home. I have the email receipt with me and notice a phone number and I say what the heck.... I call Vivid and tell them my story. They call around and arranged for 2 GA tickets that I pick up from a guy in front of the venue. All of this was done in less than 15 minutes. So they made good and my wife and I still were able to grab our desired spot by the E Stage.

  5. HERE IS A NEW TOPIC PAGE FOR ANY ALL , REVIEWS , THOUGHTS , ETC ON BOSTON , NIGHTS 1-2-3-4....

U2jerry, here,  For me night 1 was the overall better show , the set list a little heavier , the 4 song encore and of course BAD......BUT MY SHINING MOMENT was enjoying the show with my 14 yearold son , his first.

our group this night was 8 , and 4 people were first timers. All were completely blow away buy the - U2 EXPERIENCE-  and several want to go to another show. On night 1 , the crowd singing the entire song ONE

as BONO guided us along , but I must admit on night two as the crowd  sang ONE again   it much louder..More so, I was shocked they did this back to back but a nice touch.

Night 2, our group of 16 went...different set list and always welcome changes especially those spur of moment ones, BAD was just unreal , a LIVE_AID flash back , walking along the wild side and realizing 28 years of seeing these boys

over 30 times in 28 years just was so incredible as I remember working the day of LIVE AID , my VCR [wtf ??haha.] rolling and running home , blown away - WERE AN IRISH BAND ....WE COME FROM.....and 12 minutes later I was

hooked for life,By far the bands biggest moment and put the on the so called map,  the song BAD also has a personal meaning for me as my only  brother passed some years ago, so the back - to back - playing over two shows  was one of my greatest U2 memories of all time. So now on a lighter note,

night 2 had the crowd energy early and an fantastic late half of the show but a downer was only a 2 song encore. I found out later that S.H.F.W.I.L.F , was to be the song the crowd sang  or The Troubles and then end with ONE.  they ended at 10;45 so there was time for another song or two....but in the end a small gripe for an amazing show.

Major props to the Band for the #BOSTONSTRONG............and BONO acknowledging the 23 shows ,and  Boston being like a second home.....It was fitting for night 1 &2.

this fan is taking a pass on show 3, But will be in the house closing night !..

    peace, u2jerry

I was at shows 1&2 and I felt #1 was stronger. But I was on the floor in front of the Edge for Show 2 and I cannot believe the difference in seeing U2 that way. If I had the same seat for Show 1....Wow.. That would have been a life altering experience. I was in the balcony for Show 1...Loved the show.I am headed back for Show 4 tonight and I have GA. Gonna try to nail a spot at the E stage..

If I walk in at 7pm will I still get a decent spot on the floor? I don't care about being first row, but if I am 10' to 20' or so back from the stage with the ability to go in and out to get beer and hit the bathroom, I'll be happy. Also, if I understand what I have been reading correctly, if I stand near the "E" stage I will not be able to see the main stage well and if I stand near the main stage, I won't be able to see the E stage very well. Where should I stand if I want a decent view of both stages (again, don't really care about being on the rail).

You are correct on the stage view. I was on the floor at the main stage for Show #2 and I am 6'-1" and had a hard time looking at the E Stage. The main stage is a little higher than the E Stage so if you stand down there you probably would have a good view. Unless you want to be real close to one of the stages-you should be able to walk between the two stages for better views. I was in the balcony for Show #1 and I got to my seat around 7:30 and there was plenty of room on the floor for either stage. Band does not go on until 8:15 or so.

Thank you John. How long do they play? My wife is pregnant, so just trying to plan on how long she will be standing. Might even go in later if we can get in at 7:30 or so and still be ok. Thanks again.

Show #1 and 2 they played until 11PM or so. I think last night was a tad earlier. Bear in mind that in order to reach the GA section you will have to walk up to the Loge level which is approximately 5-6 flights of stairs. And it is hot and muggy in Boston today so keep that in mind.

  8. I found this on the TD Garden website last night regarding GA policy for the stay in Boston

Important information for GA/Floor Ticket Holders:

Security will distribute numbered wristbands beginning at 8AM each show day in the foyer of Stair 4, located past the TD Garden Box Office on the West side of North Station. GA/Floor Ticket Holders will be allowed to line back up at Stair 4 at 5PM. GA Doors will then open at 6PM.

Please be advised that all GA/Floor tickets are paperless for this event. The original ticket purchaser must attend the event with the credit card used to purchase AND a valid government issued photo ID. Both will be checked at turnstiles. Paperless tickets are non-transferable and the entire party must enter the venue at the same time.

    - See more at: http://www.tdgarden.com/event-registration/?ee=407#sthash.kXPG0YVe.dpuf

  9. Fr credit card entry the guest must be there, the wristbands are given after your card is scanned and you are BOTH inside

I believe the wristbands are provided the day of the show but hours before. The wristband is used for the queue for paperless ticket entry? At least that is my understanding. I will check with the venue directly but I

thought I would ask to see if anyone had any experience with GA at TD Garden

    Thanks

  10. The entry procedure depends on the venue and what one did doesn't necessarily means another will follow it as a guideline.

Best would be to check the website of the venue you will be attending or to call tem and ask directly what they are planning...

Thanks Max-I found a policy online for TD Garden but I am not sure if the guest needs to be there. I will call them.

  11. I have 2 tickets each for Boston nights 2 and 4. I purchased all tickets with my CC. Does anyone know if my guest will have to be present for the wristband distribution? Do they physically place

the wristband on the card holders wrist or give them out loosely? Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

  12. I checked with a ticket broker friend who said that Vivid is legit- I bought tickets from them and I am told that the tickets were purchased using a prepaid credit card.  I am also told that the same card is in a fedex truck headed to my house this week.  I can follow up once I receive the card...
