  1. As a precaution, make sure you have travel insurance that will cover you for flights and accommodation, as well as ticket insurance if Ticketmaster give you that option. Many superior hotels do offer day before reservation cancellation without charge though.
I know friends that travelled internationally to gigs that were subsequently postponed or cancelled; they did not have insurance and lost out financially big time.

  2. It should be made illegal to re-sell a ticket for any more than the face value, this would put an end to the "secondary" ticket market.

I agree, but when the promoters (often at the behest of the artists), collude with primary ticket sellers, i.e. Ticketb*stard, See, AXS, etc. to offload large numbers of tickets to them, so can they in turn sell the same tickets on at a premium, then how to make it illegal?  To compound matters the primary ticket sellers even set up or acquire secondary ticket selling companies like Seatwave and GETMEIN, what was previously seen as "illegal" becomes the accepted norm. In years gone by, remember how all concerts tickets were sold on this basis you were not permitted to sell them on and this drum was banged very hard and relentlessly by the primary ticket sellers?

I'm not speculating here about the promoters, I know this for a fact and it has gone on for a longggg time. The recent expose of the Robbie Williams ticket fiasco is just the latest and a highly visible turn of the wheel.

  3. Twickenham Marriott (which is part of the Stadium) the rooms are special event pricing for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.  Now that might jsut be that they do the nights before and after as standard, but could be because they have had heads up about extra show possibilities.

That's a good spot and inevitable.

OK I give up. I'm not being taken to the cleaners for a couple of seats, when all i want is GA.

It's great you sign up to get access but only access to super expensive seats, or take your chances with the public on monday morning, roll the dice and still be £50 out of pocket.

    absolute shambles.

GA might be sold out i am trying to find out if thats the case. Note we are into day 3 of presales now and its first come first served, always has been...

    Hi bigwave,

Can U2.com should secure another batch of GA tickets for the presale?  I know this is possible, in principle, as I've seen this done before with fanclub presales elsewhere.

  5. If thats the case they should say so as loads of people are trying and wasting their time.I have been trying since 9 am yesterday and you would not think they had sold them all on first day to subscribers.I could have got good seats yesterday but just cannot afford it at the moment. My opinion is lots have been scalped by ticketmaster as we all know they are doing it and they have been filmed by undercover reporters showing exactly what they are up to.

Exactly, I just rejoined last night after being away for 2 years. They coulda posted an update on the subscription page if GA tickets and others (if applicable) were sold out.

Even the RedZone presales are sold out.... not that I would pay that.
