Yup, I was that excited (me on the left in NASA shirt). I had no idea there was even someone in front of us recording anything. I was super focused on the show.

Out of the 5 shows I've seen this tour (Houston, Dallas, Chicago 1&2, NOLA), this was the best. OK, maybe a tie between NOLA and Chicago night 2 (there was ASOH). I brought two newbies to the show and they have been converted and want to see U2 when they tour again.

@toyoracer - You endured a scary and exhausting experience during relentless Harvey. I appreciate your story and it's good to know that you made it through without damage on top of the emotional trauma. I'm sorry you missed Detroit, and it's cool that you were able to get a ticket refund.

I'm guessing that all is a go for New Orleans this Thursday!! When do you get into town?

New Orleans is a go! I'm driving out from Houston EARLY. I should be in New Orleans before noon.

@toyoracer Speaking of getting through tough weather to make it to a U2 show, how are you in Houston? I'm sorry that I didn't notice until this morning that Houston your home base. It sounds like you're coming to the show, but looking back at last week, I hope that Harvey's flooding wasn't too hellish and scary for you. It was overwhelming to watch from Baton Rouge, especially with our own flooding last summer. I have friends still not in their homes.

Luckily, I was blessed to have minimal damage to my home and no flooding in my neighborhood. I have to say that Saturday night was by far the scariest night because there were tornado warnings every few minutes; a tornado was even spotted less than a mile from my home! I don't know how many times I rn into my inner bathroom for shelter. The rain just never stopped and it was raining so heavy. It was unbelievable. I barely slept during the height of the rain those several days. I would sleep in the daytime because it always get worse at night and it was hard to sleep trying to look up for tornados, down for flood water, at the TV, at the phone, for my cat! Very nerve-wrecking. I'm blessed; I never even lost utilities, but there were many people who weren't so fortunate.

I was supposed to go to the Detroit show, but my flight was cancelled twice, so I just decided it was best not to go. Ford Field did honor a refund. I volunteered at a few places taking donations over those days, instead.

I've been to Ford Field for football games, the Rolling Stones ('05), and the NCAA hockey championship game a few years back.
I have NEVER had a good experience there. Staff is astoundingly rude, traffic and parking are nightmares, and prices are ridiculous.

U2 is probably the one event that could get me to go back.

Oh great, rude staff and hiked up prices to look forward to. :( Hoping for a pleasant experience.

  5. Their site and app is screwed up. I was surprised they gave me a refund for NOLA. The stupid app timed out when I was purchasing. I thought I lost the tickets, so I attempted to repurchase. Got through the second time. I was happy until I realized I had inadvertently bought 2 GAs; the order that had timed out did go through. I had low expectations for a refund for 1, but it happened. I think it depends on the luck of the draw for the TM representative.

Philly totally screwwed pooch. Let multiple runs of ga on field at same time.Had top 200 separate then just let everyone go down different stairs at same time. PISSED.

One of my friends is there and she told me the same thing. She was number 59 but people in the 200s made front rail at the main and the tree stage. She wound up behind the tree, where the most you see is their butts. She's pissed and decided not to queue for the next show. Philly dropped the ball there.

This is not a question, but I just saw that there are already over 800 presale tickets for Ford Field on viagogo at what I assume are scalped prices. Kind of sucks considering the number of fans on this thread who were trying to get tickets today and struggling.

That disgusts me. Scalpers out there with presale codes.

  8. After realistically looking at travelling costs, I may just be only able to do Detroit. Still hoping that NOLA would be added after the fact. It would be more cost effective since I could just drive there.

There is a rectangular umbrella type thing over the drumkit, but not like the 360 umbrellas.  I agree, they were very cool looking.

That umbrella looked like a picnic umbrella that people serve fried fish from during a family reunion

  10. I was lucky to grab Chicago night 2 tickets a week before the show. The only way I got them was a ticket drop by Ticketmaster and an announcement by fellow fans. People say to keep checking TM leading up to the show, but it's hard to know when they will be released. Thank goodness for fellow kind fans to let others know!
