I think it's a great idea if it would work. I wish they would stop using Ticketbastard altogether and come up something else_ somehow, someway!!!

the band phish and Dave Matthews band use their own fan sites for tickets for fan club members. Then the people who aren't able to get Fan  club tickets later on have to go through Ticketmater

  2. For the u2 360 tour I queued in line at Philly starting around noon and got first row on rail of the outer circle. Same thing for Boston, but unlike 360 it doesn't look like there will be as much rail space so you may have to line up earlier than that.

I think if you are spending that much money fans expect more than a minimal stage like he described it as probably being.

I don't think he said that at all... he just doesn't want to say anything in advance. I mean, if you look at the i+e stage, it was completely minimal...

The stage was minimal, but the effects and screen were crazy and complex so all in all it was more than simplistic.

  4. Well with the amount of money that the tickets cost to see u2 which is more than a lot of acts out there where upper level at Gillette had tickets around 122 dollars after fees and like 300 + dollars for a lot of lower level seats I think if you are spending that much money fans expect more than a minimal stage like he described it as probably being. That's just my opinion.

  5. What happens if you can't get to Boston by 8am of the wristband process? I'm never very lucky in the wristband thing anyway. Can you still get into GA when the gates open? I have a GA ticket but only bought it because it was the cheapest one I could afford. I don't care about being upfront. I just want to see the show, without a lot of hassle. I was in the inside circle during the last tour and had a bad experience. I don't mind being on the outside but don't want to be shut out if I show up later in the day.

Got my wristband at 11am and ended up 2nd row off rail just off e stage. You should be totally fine!

  6. Will the wristbands they hand out in the morning be numbered and will that mean you can leave and return later??? Would love to be able to get a late lunch and use bathroom before getting in line. Waited in line all day for 360 and vertigo but this time would love to do things before show.

I just get upset when people take advantage of the rest of us and the system. The idea of running right out of the venue after the show and starting the next moring's line is an example of just how delicate the matter can become.

I remember in Providence in 2001, some people left DURING the first night's concert to start the second night's line - how crazy is that, to be in the first two or three rows inside the heart, on the floor, and then walk out in the middle just to be close for the next night's show?  And not like during the last song, but in the middle of the concert.

Dumbest thing I've read. Whyyyy would you leave half way to line up for tomorrow?????

  8. I agree with kerrim and axlsdaddy...

LA 1 - arrived around 6:15pm, got into the arena by 6:30, was 4 people off the rail on south side (edge's side) where the catwalk meets the e stage. fantastic views of the band and far enough back to see the screen when necessary.

LA 2 - arrived around 7:15, got into the arena by 7:25, was 4 people off the rail on north side (adam's side) at the end of the e stage. again, amazing views of the band and then was far enough back to see the screen. walked up towards the i stage in time for COBL, stayed there the rest of the show and was still only about 10 people off the rail.

the arenas seem to be big enough and they're handling the amount of GA sales well enough that it's not packed, everyone has space to move around and you only need to get there super early if you want a rail spot or if it's a weekend (it may have helped that LA 1 & 2 were week nights).

have tickets to LA 4, hoping to snag some GAs for LA 3 & 5...

Amazing information! I'm hoping for mid runway maybe 3 rows off rail so I can see both stages equally plus the screen seeing how boston night 1 might be my only time of tour seeing them. Thanks for the info!! Excited to see them and hopefully will be going night 2 also.

  9.  I think around 2 hours 15 mins is plenty for a gig. I've never felt short changed at a U2 gig.

The only two people I can think of that do 3 hour concerts would Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen. Bruce played about 3hrs and 20 mins when I saw him in 2012. Even then I think he wanted to stay longer if it wasn't for the curfew!

phish does about 3 hour and 10 minute shows. They do 2 sets with a set break in between. each set is around 1 hour and 20 minutes or so
