I can say - by being 2-3 months each year, in the hospital, of the first 11 years of my childhood: heal, and get the hell out of there asap! I'm 41 and the memories/nightmares still creep at night. I saw you all in Punchestown in the 80's and have a nice photo of Bono signing an autograph for me there. I think he just got engaged to Ali at the time.
