Yep, as per BB, that was so smooth I was left with all this latent tension I'm still trying to drown with red wine!!

Well played, I hope it went well for everyone!

That was me after the Red Hill presale. Had an uncontrollable urge to obsessively check Ticketmaster and all the forums for tickets for nearly a day. Made it next to impossible to work. Agree with others about how smoothly things went overall. I did have some bother for Auckland, but it all worked out. Maybe TM could learn some lessons for North American and European presales in the future.

  2. I also got the green light message before re-upping. My current subscription goes until March 2018 and I used up my code for JT. I re-upped anyway because I don't want any (additional) nasty surprises on presale day. Mind, I've got ticket PTSD from Springsteen on Broadway so I'm fully expecting this to be just as much of a cluster - though there are a lot more tickets available for U2 so there's some chance of getting something in general sale. IMO the only way they are ever going to prevent scalpers from getting tickets is to have Bono, Edge, Adam, and Larry personally come to each of our homes, escort us to the shows, and then take our money as we pass through that gate. And I would have absolutely no problem with that. ?

They may know, but they haven't rectified the matter.

This is a colossal screw up.

The type that should have Larry writing another angry letter.

This a massive User Experience (UX) issue. If a code is completely used, it should either show as crossed out, or just not show up at all. They also need to be sure partially used codes read properly across all platforms. There is something SERIOUSLY wrong that we go through this sad dance on every single presale on every single tour. SO much love to Maxtuskino and BigWave and other mods for the HARD work they put in trying to help, but if LN/TM actually cared about more than $$$, they'd fix some very basic issues. I love U2 and will still go to shows, but this nonsense (and ever spiraling prices for the hassle) takes a whole lot of joy out of it all. :-(

  4. Do VIP or Red Zone packages count against ticket limit? I bought 4 regular tickets on my code for legs 1 & 2, but my code is showing up as still valid (i.e., not crossed out) in my account. I don't want to risk losing my subscription, but if I can at least get in for VIP or RZ, that would be great! Will just wait for general sale for other shows.

  5. Can't speak to the actual RZ experience in YVR, but my seat was opposite the RZ entrance. There is absolutely no problem moving into general GA if you prefer. The only check is at the RZ entrance itself. Not sure if it was handled any differently when they first let everyone in. Also, my hotel overlooked the stadium and RZ check in area. There were about 15-20 people who lined up early in the morning (maybe 9am-ish) and more of a line around 2pm. But as others have said, unless you want a specific spot, there's probably no reason to line up real early. I did it in Baltimore for 360, lined up around 3pm and got a rail spot with no problem.

  6. Count me among the strongly opposed to ticketless/credit card entry. For many reasons. I get that it's an attempt to thwart scalpers, but scalpers will always find a way. Instead, honest fans buying tickets many months in advance risk being stuck with tickets they can't use, and no way of getting those tickets into the hands of other fans who were left out. Life happens, plans change. Credit cards get lost, stolen, or compromised. Illness, injury, and death make it impossible to get to the venue to swipe someone else in. Living far from a venue makes it hard to "lend" your card to a  friend. And that's really not the best solution anyway. Friends can lose credit cards or get robbed and now you've put that added burden and guilt on another person.

Surely, there has got to be a better way that still allows flexibility for when life happens. Perhaps a place to resell to other fans that doesn't allow for markup above face value. Maybe it even means eating Ticketbast**d fees to maintain "face value" and ensure no attempts at raising prices. That's still a big chunk of change to have to eat, but far better all around than losing hundreds of dollars while tickets go unused and fans are left outside for want of an unused ticket.

My purely selfish reason for despising ticketless entry (and e-tickets) is that I just like hard printed tickets. Hey, I'm old. I've been going to shows since 1985. Get off my lawn. :-)

  7. Any ideas why the center lower level is blacked out? Can't imagine it would be obstructed view - it's actually the best position for this kind of set-up. Wonder if they're going to rig up a screen somehow? Though it wouldn't be terribly effective when the stage is at one end of the stadium - as in the rest of the shows.

  8. Keep trying, folks! I was about to give up, but the app finally started coming up aces. Just snagged MSG1,2, and 4 within 20min. The app did crash the first time a ticket came up and I tried to pay, but after that they went through no problem. All lower bowl, full price - I'm doing a Scarlett O'Hara until the CC bill comes in. My browser were still bouncing around in endless spin when I shut them down.  Hopefully things are starting to settle down now...good luck everyone!

  9. Ha! Yeah, I was hedging all over the place with my boss this morning. I already said I'd be working at home this morning and unavailable for a couple of hours, but I HAVE to get into the office by this afternoon. Really didn't think I'd spend the morning watch TB spin. At least 2 of my laptops have gotten off the "15min or more" and started bouncing around between 4 and 12min. It's sad that this actually excites me.
