  1. I loved the show, there were a few surprises

    1. The Irish Airforce doing a flyover witht he Tricolour in the fumes

    2. The banner being passed around the stadium.

I personally went to see U2 , to watch and listen to them, not usually a fan of the video screens in the past, loved what they did this time, putting video's assocated with the songs.

I still prefer the band to just get up and play their songs, this time I think it worked well

  2. i only got the collector ticket (laminate as pictured above) however i did not get a paper ticket as posted by Colm further above. Should i be concerned?

    no, dont be concerned

When I booked my tickets, I thought I had selected Collectors and only after my paper tickets arrived, I checked with TM and my order and found I hadn't

so I then contacted TM and they were able to book me two collectors at the additional cost.... I suspect that my paper tickets are now useless, as i suspect they scan the barcodes

  3. I appreciate this is a long shot.......but

A friend and I have a total of 8 x Pitch 1 Standing for Croke, but were looking to exchange for 8 x Pitch 2.......would obviously also do 4 for 4, just on the remote chance anyone would prefer P1 to P2.

    Thanks....

Now that is a long shot, however nothing ventured, nothing gained

  4. Thought I'd add a slight move away from the current tickets issue, and post some items from 30 years ago during the original Joshua Tree in Ireland, hopefully others will appreciate and add to it also

1st, my ticket to see U2 in the Kings Hall in Belfast   (not ticket price includes handling fee and was only £10 back in the day), also tickets where different per concerts, unlike todays which all look the same (I've a Croke Park one somewhere also, as i seen them a few days later then)

2nd U2's autographs on the day of release of The Joshua Tree (this was shortly after Sunday Midnight in Making Tracks in Belfast ( I also have a cassette autographed at the same time, as they had run out of vinyl and CD's weren't as popular back in those days)

  5. Croke I believe is our biggest venue in Ireland

They wouldn't have enough time to move the stage setup to another venue
Mind it would be great if they did a Norn Iron show..... but doubt that...

I don't see anywhere show Ed Sheeran for Croke this year, other than the irish mirror and cant see any reason for the GAA not to have either a Fri or Sun concert, as doubt they'd have a match on the Sunday after the concert, but only time will tell.

Lets hope for the Fans, they do a second night, even if it's the end of the tour

  6. on the news page...

'Due to overwhelming demand for tickets following this morning's public onsale, four additional shows have been added to finalise the European leg of The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 this summer.

These second shows will be at Twickenham, London on July 9th, the Olympic Stadium in Rome on July 16th, the Stade de France in Paris on July 26th and the Amsterdam Arena on July 30th.'

I know it's say finalise, but I would take that as for each of these Cities....... generally U2 play TWO in Ireland and I suspect they will still play a second at Croke, there's still space, as far as Croke are concerned, 3 concerts per year, and with 1 for Coldplay and 1 for U2, there's still ONE free.....

I suspect this will be announced later today/tomorrow....

Hopefully , are there's going to be a lot more annoyed Irish fans, and ticket touts making a bigger killings :(  (I've got my ticket, so I'm good)

  7.

doubt you'd be able to use the pre-sale code

usually the extra dates are announced when the first day is sold out and then they are available to everyone

And I've suspected they'd do a second show from the first was announced..... can't remember when U2 only did one concert in Croke

Not with the I & E (last) tour.  There, presales happened with added shows as well.  Now, in previous U2 tours, usually what you said is what happened--but not with I & E.  What happens now?  Who knows, but I & E, being most recent, is perhaps the best guide/guess.

good to hear, though I didn't know there were any additional show to the I&E tour and we were all limited to 2 tickets , which I used for my Belfast show.

So I might be able to get 2 more (only used 2 for this Croke show) when they're up next :D

  8. So I tried again this morning for pitch 2 again no luck. Completely sold out by the time I reached the top of the q.

Just searched seatwave and there is 56 pitch 2 tickets available starting at €420.

When is ticketmasters monopoly going to end?

There were a lot of these for sale on Fri, shame that "fans" (I know not real fans) ordered these to sell on at heavily inflated prices.  I'd hope these ppl would end up with unsold tickets, unfortunately even if they do with a handful, they'll have made a killing with the ones they did sell.

I've been to almost all Tours since the original Joshua Tree, except for When Love Comes Town, thanks to being a fan club member, I've been able to get in most cases 4 tickets, for my two bro's and sister-in-law, who are all big U2 fans.

As much as I want to go to the concerts, I wouldn't pay a ticket tout over the odds for a ticket, especially 5 or 6 times the price (or even more in cases).
