U2 have a massive say in ticket & merchandise prices and £32 is a total rip off.

Have to agree 100% with Phill (including the expletive deleted lol).Whats wrong with people? Take a few pictures - fine. But standing there half the night with camera aloft?Get a life!
Watch the opening of the Paris Elevation dvd. A show that half the world knew was going to be filmed and what are half the crowd doing? Filming it!!!

You could head for Boston Manor tube if you grab an Uber after the gig. Roughly 5 miles from Twickenham straight into central London on the Piccadilly line.
-
Trying to buy two tickets for Twickenham and only delivery method is standard mail and only for people in Britain and the North East of Ireland. I'm from Dublin. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
I live in Donegal and had no problem ordering mine to be sent by post.

I can well see why there might be logistical issues, setting aside any of the old residents arguments etc. Obviously two rigs on the go in Europe, and Ireland suffers from being an island. So the tour shedule and the 'getting stuff to to the next show' might not be doable within specific windows. I personally thought they might fit in a Sunday show, if nothing else but to replicate what they did in 87. It might just not be possible.
I wouldn't give up hope yet though. If anyone will try to influence an extra show - despite all the negative social media crap - U2 will.
The thing is they have 3 clear days between Barcelona and Dublin. The fact is they must have known there would be no second gig prior to the tour announcement.
So? You cant critique the band for what you assume they know or dont know. If they cant do a second show in Dublin, they cant. Better they do one, than none at all. J'es. I was gutted at missing out on Slane because I didn't install a home computer soon enough back in the day. But I got over it!
The logistics of moving a tour around are largely out of the musicians hands when it comes to adding shows.
I'm still surprised there's a tour this year.
I didn't criticise anyone. I merely pointed out that the band would have been well aware that they would not get a second date at Croke Park before the tickets went onsale. That being the case why would a 'band spokesperson' be quoted as saying the lack of a second gig is down to logistics? Look at the dates. There are a couple of times where there is only one day between shows in different cities. No sure how the Slane comment is relevant I got my tickets through the fan club by post so no need for a computer. And I have nothing to get over-I have a ticket for the Dublin date.

Interestingly enough, in the presale last week I saw a "choice" on Ticketmaster that said "residents only" I wondered what this category of ticket was. It was listed at the bottom of the list of various ticket types- presale red hill, wires, gold, red zone, etc. now today when I checked after sellout, I didn't see that choice- maybe it's a marker- so if indeed they announce a second date, residents of Ireland will get first crack. I was hoping this to be true - not for me- but plenty of hometown fans have not been able to grab tickets- i.e. Tour as well I remember- it would be kinda cool to have a presale if you have an Irish address- random speculation here- and thanks to being a long standing member here I did get presale tix for the first show- we will wait and see
Residents only refers to residents of the area around Croke Park. Same applies at Twickenham where residents can apply for tickets in a lottery style draw after the sale has closed.

Nothing confirmed at this moment - you will need to keep checking the site and the board for any official information regarding new dates...
Apologies I didn't make myself clear. The Irish Times quoted a band spokes person as saying there was no second gig due to logistics.
Is this true or not?

There is a place outside Dublin.
It's called Ireland, and there are several nice stadiums and some nice people too.
Well said.
-
Sure feck it, they could always play outside the M50
Sorry I know I have just upset half of Ireland and they will all be on to Joe Duffy if U2 even considered such a thing.
Outside the M50? I'm saying a decade for you right now! It took them 18 years to find Belfast on the map again so I'm not holding my breath.

Hi, can someone from U2 please explain why the media is telling us there will be no second date in Dublin?
The only 'reason' I have read is that is not logistically possible.
Given that the last date before Dublin is in Barcelona the previous Tuesday this is obviously rubbish so what (if there is no second date) is the real reason?

I was at both gigs so far at the o2 and arrived at the venue at around 7 on both nights. Got great views on both nights.
-
I'd bring your passport.I'm in the same boat as I'm over from Ireland. They didn't check my id on Sunday or Monday but you can guarantee if you don't bring it they will ask!
-
I got into the O2 at 8 on Sunday night and myself and my daughter ended up 6 feet from the main stage having spent the afternoon in the pub.
Last night we got in at the same time.Spent the first half in front of the Edge.Moved to the b stage and then stood in front of Adam for the rest of the gig.
I honestly have no clue why anyone would want to queue for hours but each to their own.

The interesting part being about family members buying GA tickets:What happens if my family member / friend bought the tickets for me but aren't attending?
The person who purchased the tickets will need to collect them on the day and then give them to you.
So your wife would have to travel down but could then hand you the tickets.
-
so having realised myself and daughter are on the ticketless entry to o2 london november event we booked through 02 site directed to AXS and my wife and i have a joint credit card same number the lot except hers obviously reads mrs mine mr then surname exact AXS insists she booked she attends,, 3 hrs on the phone today and nothing but the same, she even said what if she had passed away ( bit harsh i know ) but reply was " that would be unfortunate but we must again tell you to read the t&c and if she couldn't attend you can't go in to the concert without her , this is ridiculous beyond comprehension so we said we would all drive the 200 miles she would show all id ect and then can the wrist bands placed on by stewards go to myself and daughter NO they said any one at all got anything to help this situation ?? she then rang ticketmaster who said had they of sold us the tickets they may be able to refund mrs credit card and put it on mr card so that i could take my passport but we are AXS so no hope there they just won't budge

Seat rows run A-Y from front to back. As the others have said its a compact arena (far better then the 3Arena in Dublin IMO). For a show like this there really isn't a bad seat in the house.

The advertising for the Irish dates seemed to indicate that id was required for entry for all tickets not just standing. Is this not the case?
I only ask as some people on Stubhub are selling 2 tickets.Given that they could only have 2 the id angle mustn't be a problem for them.
-
-
There are a number of tickets for sale on Stubhub. Given that these were obviously bought using a presale code surely they can be cancelled by Ticketmaster / U2.com ?
This is grossly unfair. There are people on here whos codes didn't work and these greedy b**tards are selling the ones they got.
Wrong!
-
Wasn't there a condition about a cut off point for subscribers getting a code?
-
Heres what I need to know:
1/Are sandwiches supplied whilst waiting in line?
2/Will security escort me to the toilet as I scare easy in big crowds?
3/Will throw cushions & blankets be supplied as I don't want to catch a chill?
4/If asked will the band start and finish early in order for me to catch the last bus home?

God be with the days when you could just go to a U2 gig without the need for a bible on the GA situation.
your age, and how many shows you've been?

52 last month.
96 shows so far (1st was September 1980 )
If they had added a second at Croke Park I'd hit 100 this year - gutted!
