  1. I was 18, in the Army after graduating from high school, feeling lost and homesick, searching for a church I could receive in, a cause I could believe in, money to pay for college, a way out of learning how to bayonet and shoot faceless “enemies” in Fort Benning, Georgia. The Joshua Tree on my clandestine Walkman, hidden in a ceiling panel above my bunk, kept my soul whole and my mind clear in basic training. I eventually broke my arm beyond repair. I was discharged. I was lost. But The Joshua Tree helped me heal. I found my church (I run a retreat center and farm for the Episcopal Church) and my causes and my education. Not the life I imagined, but better at 48.

  2. Let me start by saying I haven’t grown much since seeing U2 for the first time in 1992. In fact, I still wear my XL Zoo TV tour shirts without problem.

So consider my disappointment when I splurged on a $40 XL Joshua Tree shirt at a show in June and it already doesn’t fit. It was too small to begin with. After two washes, it fits like a medium.

I was already telling myself that I could no longer afford any more U2 shows. Sadly, that was my last of 12 shows. The apparent total disregard for the fan’s dollar when its comes to the merch is just one more reason to say goodbye.

I’ll stick to bootleg merch in the future. At least it fits.

Anyone else having trouble with the JT shirt sizes?

  3. GA are $70 in NJ.  But the ticketmaster fees are ridiculous.  $20 service fee per ticket?  Ends up being $96 per ticket.  U2 is always great to the fans and their fan club ticket system is the best, well worth the fan club cost.  But ticketmaster is a racket.  I agree they provide a service but they are the only source for face value tickets.  Should be a great tour

Actually, I would argue Pearl Jam's fan club ticket system is far, far better than U2's.

  4.

I did get e-mails regarding re-subscribing my U2.com membership. Never missed a year and I've got all the gifts.

I honestly don't know why everybody is whining about that.

It's probably easier to complain then holding up the mirror to yourself when you thought saving $50,- cause U2 weren't suppose to tour.

Please take your own responsibility in this.

I think much of the frustration from fans is how the ticketing process has been for this tour. I have always known tickets were not a guarantee as part of the fan club nor was it the reason I first joined in 1992. However I do feel that a "long term subscriber" is just that, someone who has been a subscriber for a long time, not someone who signed up before December 24, 2016. In the past there were always three pre-sale groups for fan club members, this time it's down to two. If they offer the perk again for the next tour, which I suspect they will, they should make it four groups for fan club members. Those who have been members for 20+ years are in group A, 10-19 years are group B, 5-9 years are group C and 0-4 are in group D. You basically go up the ladder the longer you are in, that basically was what it was for previous tours in some small way, not exact what I outlined naturally. But the other issues and complaints are more related to Ticketmaster themselves and how their site can't seem to work properly, this is all Ticketmaster does is sell tickets, and yet they can't seem to get things to run smoothly. If I ran my business that way I would be out of business. I like many others am not a fan of the ticketless/CC required/you must attend way of going about it. If something comes up and I can't go, I should be able to do with my tickets as I see fit, be it sell them to someone or give them away, etc. I of course don't make any plans for the same day the band is playing in my area but if something comes up Id like to think someone else can enjoy my seats at the same time if i can't.

Welcome to Trump's America, where millions of people support spending billions on a border wall as our bridges and roads crumble.

  5. I think it's fair for the band to reward longtime fans who keep paying membership dues even in the wilderness years with no tours or shows. I would be a bit miffed if people who let their memberships lapse and re-upped only after a tour announcement received the same access and benefits as someone who has been loyal through the years with their payments and support.

  6.

getting the same, the usual farce just to get people to subscribe to U2, why do we put ourselves through this crap every time?

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time. One solution: Don't let your membership lapse.

Not really a solution, I have had membership since the Propaganda days and I haven't even had the chance to enter my presale code or to get past the search stage. I'm seriously pissed but not taking it out on our Mods though, they are limited in what they can do and  I know they are doing as much as they can to help everyone with problems.

Yeah, that stinks. Did you try the mobile app? The on,y way I could get tickets was on my iPhone.

  7.

My presale is tomorrow. Can anyone describe the pricing breakdown for seats in Concourse 1 & 2? They are only giving a broad range, until you log in with code so its hard to plan ahead.

I saw Concourse 1 seat in the 10th row at the far end of the stadium pop up for $110.

    Thank you

Sounds like GA is the best bet for one's wallet!

I'm getting too old for GA, especially in New York. I need a seat for my 47-year-old butt. I've seen U2 in GA plenty of times going back to Zoo TV

  8. Been a member here for years - tour or no tour - and unable to get tickets in NY.  Sold out in like 10 seconds.  Complete Bullshit.  The big fans are HERE.  What do they offer us, like 100 tickets?  Make more tickets available.  Total fucking bullshit.

Use iPhone/iPad TM app. I had the same problem. After 20 minutes, switched to app and got great seats. Still great stuff available. Godspeed.

  9. Thanks I'll look again so excited to not have to travel this tour it's been a very long time since they were here in Cleveland Ohio the home of the rock and roll hall of fame Cleveland rocks U2

Sorry about the Indians. Go Cubs!

  10.

Why would venues get tickets to pass on to season ticket holders for a rock concert?

This makes no sense to me.

It's a selling point to entice season ticket holders - my brother has season tix to the Niners at Levi's Stadium and has since had presale opportunities for Pac 12 Title Game, Taylor Swift, Sharks game, etc. at the stadium. I don't see a problem with venues offering this benefit but I do take issue with people scalping the tickets.

All of those others options are far more appealing than the Niners this year. Krapernick is a huge disappointment.

  11. Very unhappy with how the pre-sale is being handled. I have been a paid fan club member for at least 5 years. However, because my membership briefly lapsed and I renewed after the album release date in Sept., I am treated as though I just signed up for the fan club (categorized as an innocent).  Very disappointed that I am not able to participate day 1 in the pre-sale. Any similar experiences?

As someone who has kept renewing my membership for 10 years, even when there wasn't a tour, I can't say that I'm sympathetic. Sorry.
