Forest Astronauts in Love

This is my favorite thus far.  For me, you capture the transparency yet density of the woods.  You also have a very cool signature.  

May I ask why you put the dark squares at the top?  I'm not questioning-I'm interested.  I really like this one.

  The black squares are the gaps through which the metal binding of the coil - notebook this is drawn on go through......

LOL.  I'm such a doofus. I sat and pondered....'Hmmm...would could those squares symbolize?'   I thought it was an artistic statement.

 Haha...It's like that post on Bored-Panda.....Man forgets his glasses on a floor in a museum , visitors think it's art and photograph it for hours on end !
