Just wanted to thank everyone that came out to this event! WE THREW AWAY OUR OLD SETLIST, in order to make the Fan Fest setlist more special! It is alway incredible to feel the love from U2 fans hearing U2 music. I can only imagine how U2 themselves feel. We played: Out of Control The Fly Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss me, Kill Me Acrobat Landlady Red Flag Day Desire Bullet Unforgettable Fire Heartland Red Hill Mining Town Mysterious Ways New Years Day 11 O'Clock Tick Tock Gone Running to Stand Still Bad All I Want Is You Streets With or Without You ENCORE I Will Follow Electric Co Wild Horses Loves is Bigger One Encore Vertigo
  1. Hey Yardie... thanks for writing back. Trust me. "Bad" is my favourite song of all time....and it is always a special show when they play it live. So I hear you. After seeing 6 shows, I also didn't get "The Troubles" or "Volcano". I won't be at any European shows (at least right now) and I think any more of my GA experiences will be far from the rail. I'm by no means a stage hog. I think the B-man just trusts me.
  2. I agree for instance U2br and Amp were taken on stage at least twice...why take people up more than once when there are so many uber fans...I am in Australia and flew over for 2 vancouver and 2 la concerts and amp was onstage at 2 of these...I almost booed the second concert. Other fans should be given the opportunity. And hope they come to Australia I purposely situated myself on the catwalk this time, far away from the E stage for MSG 7. Bono sought me out. Am I gonna say no? Bad wasn't on the setlist anyway. I'm Canadian BTW.... Sorry I ruined your show.
  3. All I can say is, our intereaction was absolute gold. He recognized me from the shows and we managed to have a bigtime conversation. You will have to watch the movie when it comes out to catch all the action. I love this band
  4. A candid picture taken by me in East Lansing of Bono and Adam.
  5. I asked Phillip Docherty for Bono's setlist, since it was my birthday. He gave it to me after the show. Notice, Moment of Surrender was on the setlist, but was not played due to curfew restrictions. The show then promptly finished after With or Without You.
  6. A group photo of U2 in Winnipeg on a cold, cold night.
  7. Bono hanging on to the wheel microphone....yelling in Winnipeg.
  8. U2 took the stage during sunlight hours which resulted in them dropping Moment of Surrender due to daylight savings time.
  9. A candid picture of Bono on the bridge.
  10. The Edge doing what he does best on stage in Winnipeg.
  11. A close up shot I took of Adam in Winnipeg.
  12. Since the Winnipeg show fell on my birthday, I decided to kick it up a notch with a costume. We've had belly dancers, Santas, girls slow dancing with Bono, and guitar players. My hope was to get on stage for my birthday but Bono gave me a shout out during "One". So this was my costume...
  13. More pictures of the B man signing autographs.
  14. I managed to get Bono to sign my picture. Me - (singing) "Little brother...don't you worry bout a thing today....take the heat from the sun." Bono - Oh, I remember you! Me - Bono, please sign my picture, it was one of the best days of my life! Bono - What's your name again? Mark with a K? Me - Yup......imagine.....I travelled all the way from Toronto to Winnipeg, to HAVE YOU PLAY ON MY BIRTHDAY! Bono - *chuckles* Are you going to the show tomorrow, Mark? Me - Yes....and I'm coming in costume. Bono - *looks up* - costume? Me- the Mirrorball Man 2.0 (Achtung Baby persona Bono did during Zoo TV) Bono - *big chuckle* At that point, I figured I better not hog him to myself, so I didn't pursue the conversation further. There were other fans that wanted to talk to him.
  15. Here is a photo from Winnipeg. Bono was outside signing outside the Burton CUmmings Theatre.
