  1. UPDATE: in spite of having a Scarlet B tattooed on my forehead by customer service, I was able to get GA's! Woot woot! But what a royal cluster-f%#! There has GOT to be a better way. From talking to fans all over the place, looks like it was totally arbitrary how this thing went down. One guy I know got GA's as a first choice, another one got offered relative nosebleeds. I got lucky. After about 20-30 refreshes on my phone browser, the golden ticket magically appeared! Is there something seriously wrong with me that I count seeing those two beautiful letters throughout the years as some of my most joyous moments in life? No? Well, would you think differently if I told you I have 2 kids and 2 granddaughters or that I once rescued a litter of kittens out of a sewer? Don't judge me, bub... we're talking THE BOYS here! So, yeah. I'm happy about the way things turned out for myself. But I am absolutely BUMMED that the same can't be said about so many of my fellow dedicated U2 fans. Let me just leave you with something this guy told me once at a thing... Happiness is not a zero-sum game. You can celebrate your fortune with mirthful gestures and loud yelps of joy, yet still have space in your heart to acknowledge the tear in your neighbor's eye. Gloat not over the girth of your relative mindfulness, lest ye be doomed to follow the lonely path of the twatwaffle. - a guy that one time at the thing I told you about Namaste, my friends. I pray that I see many of you in GA!
  2. That's really great that you got notified! Some folks obviously didn't. But, you are absolutely correct about some people needing to hold a mirror up to themselves. After all, allowing or not allowing a fan club membership to expire is one of those character-defining moments in life where one can either find themselves seeking out a place (maybe a fan forum?) where they can vent their frustrations with like-minded people who understand what being a fan during presales can do to a person, or alternately, remind others how life can suck and then you die. As if we need a reminder of that fact these days. On a fan-club website. Kudos on the reliable email server, btw. You win the internet.
  3. I get what you're saying, and you are 98% correct in my opinion... however, I'm not sure about you, but I have been spoiled by the pay-for-play sites that I belong to on the interwebs! I have grown accustomed to receiving a reminder when a PAID subscription is about to expire! I think these folks dropped the ball, and some long-time fans are paying for it. Again, I understand what you are saying and agree that those who were vigilant enough to re-up in a timely manner deserve first-crack at the ticket sales, BUT somehow I feel that a simple reminder or 'heads-up' to long-term, recently lapsed, subscribers would have been the decent thing to do. Anyhoooo... best of luck with your shows! I decided to get some Bonnaroo tix and go see the boys in full festival mode! It promises to be a sweet, sweet thing! <3
  4. I'm annoyed at the wording of the email. I don't know, perhaps I'm being petty. It was the equivalent of a politely worded 'I'm sorry... who the f are you? Press 1 for Bieber, 2 for Buble, or the symbol Pi for any U2-related injustices you may be experiencing. It went something (but not exactly) like this: heyyyyy man (or woman)! So, welcome to the U2 fan club! Since you are a new member and all, and we're too swamped here at THIS IS ALL WE DO, INC. to answer any queries you might have., we've decided to email you a sort-of unique code with a B on it! FUN FACT: B stands for BOY, ARE THERE A LOT OF RECENT U2.COM MEMBERS QEUING UP WITH YOU FORGETFUL OLD-TIMERS! C'MON... MINGLE WHY DONTCHA! thank you for shopping MUSIC TODAY, WHERE EVEN A MINOR LAPSE IN MEMBERSHIP WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DOWNGRADE TO NEWBIE STATUS WITH ZERO WARNING, AND WHERE 20-30 YEARS OF FANDOM AND MEMBERSHIP FEES DON'T MEAN DIDDLY! (Btw, there is no C-Z code, so BEST OF LUCK IN STEERAGE WITH THE SCALPERS!) If you require assistance or further information, dial 411 or consult a voodoo-man. *I know, sounds like I'm whining... but practically a lifetime of fandom, and here I am sweating JT30 tix. Best of luck, wired-ones!
  5. I feel your pain..... I remember going to see U2 for the price of a CHEESE SANDWICH! <3 Don't you just LOVE this?? The boys are BACK!
  6. How the hell do I change this handle?

    1. emgluvsU2

      emgluvsU2

Redzone in Seattle and GA in Chicago!! Woo hoo!!! Would trade REDzone WA for Redzone OH.

  7. Something just occurred to me: The older we fans get, the more of us will forget to renew our membership on time. Pretty soon, all the best tix will be up for grabs again! WOO-HOO  Much <3 to you all!
  8. I've been a member for quite a while (25-30 years) and was accustomed to receiving an email when it was time to renew, especially since they went fanfire. Alas, no email last time around. When I logged in yesterday for the first time in a while, I noticed I wasn't up to date, and my stomach sank. Sure enough, I'm considered a newbie now. 60+ shows and I'm a new fan. sigh. I know I should have stayed on top of my status, but a reminder would have been helpful. Also, a little consideration or a heads up from the site. I've sent an email, tried calling to no avail, but I have a feeling I'm SOL. I'll still be trying for tickets on Thursday morning of course, but if the seats suck, I may be staying home this time around. Maybe the boys will do a second round around the ol' US and I'll be able to get the GA's like every time before. I wish everyone who is going through the same dilemma much luck! Peace.
  9. I'm wondering if presale codes that were used for 2015 dates will be re-activated for a 2016 US leg of the tour if added? I recall language when the initial leg was announced which specifically said that the codes would expire for any future 2015 DATES. Didn't say anything about 2016. Also, in the Q&A section, when asked about the 2 tix limit, moderators made it clear that the limit applied to arena venues only. I wonder if that means we'll have another opportunity to buy presales when the band kicks off a second (stadium?) leg in the US?
  10. My best friend wants to join us in LA, but I don't have a ticket for him. Fortunately, I have 2 GA's for MSG, so it's a no brainier... I'd rather go to one show with him there than go to 2 shows without. I have 2 MSG GA tix on 7/22, I'd like to trade one or both for 6/3 LA GA's... Can anyone help me out? Thanks!
