I read in the information on Chegg that they are GA
-
Does anyone know how this is going to work for those that won tickets? Do we/can we still line up in the GA? Are they Red Zone? If anyone has any experiences they can share we'd appreciate it
-
They did release a statement saying they were scrapping the idea about a month ago I think. Also, if this tour will be anything like the last, we can expect the setlist to vary with each city and each leg.
-
How did the credit card entry work? Did they check IDs?
-
Any ideas if Chicago enforces the photo ID? That's the venue I'm worried about as my husband bought my friend and I tickets and I'd hate to line up only to find we can't get in...
-
I'm just eager to see how the credit card entries work because if they check your IDs looks like I won't be going

It's probably just going to be whichever show the band thought was their best
-
seatgeeks and some venue pages offer a "live" view of the sections. It shows an image of where your section is and how far you are from the stage. Will definitely be helpful for people looking to get tickets

Most of your decent hotels will be along or close to the Magnificent Mile. Unfortunately there really aren't any hotels near the united center which makes it even more difficult. I remember walking for miles the last time U2 came to Chicago.

It definitely does suck and is extremely unfortunate, but these rules have been posted by ticketmaster and also multiple times on here so if you fail to read them then that's the chance you're going to have to take. I'm not going to deny that it is incredibly frustrating because my husband and I both wanted to get tickets and obviously have the same address/joint account but we made sure we knew what was acceptable and what wasn't before getting tickets.
-
Aren't you protected in case you can't go if you get the insurance though?
-
as per usual another U2 ticket fuck up when will they learn????
you realize bigwave is trying to help instead of making everyone deal with it blindly right?
-
Ticketmaster has been canceling tickets from people who had 2 separate presale codes but used the same card/billing information.
-
Funny thing is from where the sections are, it looks like the seats are either behind the main stage or on the complete opposite end of it
-
Ticketmaster needs to start with not offering a U2.com subscription with purchase so people can buy tickets early that weren't already subscribed
-
This may be a big stretch...but is it possible to take TM to court because their wording is vague and they're cancelling tickets? As far as I'm concerned if anyone gets their tickets cancelled because they got 2 presale and 4 general sale and it turns out the 2 presale was supposed to count towards the 4 TM did not make that clear on their site and took it upon themselves to cancel your order? Just a thought.

I used Chrome and got GA in general and presale. I also used my iphone app for the general sale

Really interested in what's coming after Chicago...hopefully another Midwest show

I'm beginning to wonder: do the $1000+ tickets scalpers try to sell actually ever sell? I mean, do millionaires even bother to pick those up?
Anytime I've ever looked at StubHub, I never got the impression those tickets ever move.
There's always someone trying to get $5000 for a ticket, but there are dozens more people selling the same level tickets for $400 (even though, it's still outrageous).
I can't say for U2, but I know Pearl Jam's GA tickets sell for literally thousands of dollars and people actually buy them. I know a few people in the GA lines from last tour who spent a couple hundred on their tickets. So I guess if you're desperate enough...

They come when they come

It probably thought you were a bot. You can get kicked out if you refresh too many times as well
-
My GA tickets have a transfer option. That means you can transfer ownership to someone else.
can you be nice and transfer your tickets to me...lol
This option is actually disabled for U2's shows unfortunately...I tried already lol
-
I wonder what percentage of them actually sold at face value?
Well, all of them sold to someone for face value, unless you're suggesting Ticketmaster, etc., just put the tickets up on the secondary market themselves?
Pearl Jam have a very good system in place, but it takes a lot of effort. They don't let you know what tickets you have until you pick them up from their fan club booth day-of. And for the GA pit on this last tour, that was determined by lottery, and the pit was ONLY sold to fan club members, no one in the general public had access.
So, you said your first preference was Pit, second preference floor behind the pit, third preference was lower level, etc., and then they confirm you have tickets, but you don't know what you have until the day, but they also go by seniority, so the longer you have been in the fan club, the better the seats. They also release official "bootlegs" of every show through their website for like $10-15.
If you're looking for a model, that seems to be the one. Of course, you'll never find a system that doesn't make someone unhappy.
Pearl Jam has a good system to their fan club members...anyone not in it had to pay thousands of dollars for GA for virtually every show. So it's not fool proof either

A bit off topic from the current discussion, but does anyone know if people are still lining up several days early like Vancouver? Are they letting people "check in" instead of standing in line for 2+ days straight on the days leading up to the show? I'm trying to figure out logistics, as I'm coming from Milwaukee to the Chicago shows and I'd rather not pay $$$$ for a hotel and take the train in and out or drive instead for the days leading up to as opposed to staying in the city for 3+ days to get a decent spot in line.
