  1. From what I understand, (despite saying it needs both) the Red Zone pick up is asking for photo ID only... no credit card.

And the credit card entry seats/ga line (despite saying it needs both) asks to swipe the credit card only... no photo id.

So let your friends borrow your credit card and they can get themselves inside the venue, while you get inside the Red Zone with just your license.

And make sure you all have your phones so just in case there's any problems you can call each other and resolve it from there.

And once inside, hopefully you can meet up with your friends and get your card back. Otherwise just get it back after the show.

(PS, I'd also recommend bringing a printout of your Ticketmaster order confirmation emails too.  Just to have them.)

  2. As I've stated in other threads, the show just needs a mere 15 more minutes.

Increasing the length from 1:55-2:00 up to 2:10-2:15 would make all the difference in the world from people feeling slightly shortchanged to being truly satisfied.

  3. Yes, it hurts fans who can't resell or give away their tickets if something legitimately comes up.

But on the other band, their hearts in the right place, and the idea was to cut down on scalping, and get as many tickets into fans' hands at actual face value.   Did it work?  Not entirely, obviously.  Did it help curb scalping somewhat?  Maybe.

  4. I remember seeing the band in Miami on the final night of the Elevation Tour in 2001.  We were inside the heart.  We all desperately were trying to get them to end the show with 40, instead of the tour's regular closer, Walk On.   So somebody had a brilliant idea of handing everybody in the heart, paper plates with '40' written on them.   While they played Walk On, we all held several hundred '40' plates up.  But nope, they still didn't play it.   Best we got was a small snippet of 40 during Walk On.  Sigh.

  5. I'm positive that this will have some impact on the U2 tour. In the short term, this is going to intensify security getting into the venues.

Wait times to get inside were already ridiculously long, with the existing security checks and the credit card entry debacle.

Now with even more intense security, it'll take an eternity to get in. I'm not complaining. I'm just making an observation. I realize it's necessary in light of what's happened.

  6. I rarely ever buy concert merch anymore... (if its a truly special show, I'll splurge and buy the tour program, but no more t-shirts for me.)

If I need a souvenir, my goal is to get a setlist from the stage (or soundboard) after the show.   Probably no chance in hell this tour, considering how high the stage is....  But I will try.   Setlists are the best souvenir you can get.  Unique, and best part is, they're free!  (So far, I only have one U2 setlist in my collection, from Elevation tour 2001, 2nd show in FL March 2001.)

The prompters did not show him very often on the big screen...

A prompter (or "teleprompter") is actually a monitor that Bono can use, that displays the song lyrics, or his speeches, that he can refer to, in case he happens to get lost mid-show.   It's not a camera.

  8. I recently went to two different comedy shows.  One by Dave Chappelle, and another by Chris Rock.   They both impose a very strict No-Cell-Phone rule.  Everybody is told to leave their phones at home, or in their car.   But for people who simply must have their phones on them, they are required to check their phone in a locked "Yondr" pouch.   You get to keep the phone with you, in the locked pouch, but the only way to take the phone out is to go to the lobby to unlock it.

(If anyone is caught with an unlocked phone inside the seating area, they are ejected from the show, no refund.)

It was sooooooo refreshing to be at a show with zero phones lit up and people were actually PAYING ATTENTION, and WATCHING THE SHOW!!!

It makes more sense to use this policy for comedians as their sets are ruined if their material gets out and spoiled on YouTube.   But still, I'd love to see this start happening at concerts too.   I realize it's logistically unfeasible to do this at a stadium, but I hope this trend spreads.

  10. I'm sure there will be another 5 songs added, give or take...    Most I+E shows were about 25/26 songs....

But amazing that of the 20 current songs, only 4 of them are post-1980's.

I figured the non-Joshua Tree portion of the show would have been more Achtung and beyond for some balance.

(Doesn't Joshua Tree cover enough 80's ground?   SBS, NYD, MLK, ASOH, and Pride on top of Joshua Tree... i dunno... too much?)

  11. I guess the enclosed 'pit', is the Red Zone.  The top portion of the ramp looks REALLY high....  hope the people in the Red Zone can see over it!

PS - Sorry for not including the "spoiler" heading in the subject title...  A big thanks to whoever edited it for me!

  12. I am in a similar position, i may have a medical procedure that will have me laid up during that time.  And I bought 4 tickets.  So I'm at a loss.  I have friends who are going with me, and are dying to see the show.  I looked on the ticketmaster website and there is no way to transfer tickets unless I am missing something

Let your friends borrow your card for the evening so they can get in, and have them give you the card back the next day. (They're your friends so hopefully they wont go on a wild spending spree!)
