"After initial speculation today that U2 would have to cancel the opening night of their first tour in four years, RTÉ TEN has received official confirmation from a U2 spokesperson that the band's Vancouver show will go ahead as planned.  

The band will attend the funeral and then travel to Vancouver by private jet."

Right. But nights 1,2 in Montreal will be the same as nights 1,2 in Boston.

But Montreal 1 and Montreal 2 will have nothing to do with each other.

Can't wait to hear more about how these two shows will be different - they surely wont dare to drop the hits? I mean 3/4 of the audience are casual fans 

Agree with bungo. but I think nights 1 and 2 will be heavily similar throughout the tour (in the sense that all nights 1 will have same set). expect more surprises to appear between additional nights (3,4)

Looked at it quickly, so I may have messed up, but if I am remembering correctly, one of the NY ones switched ID for some reason and there is one "mystery" one.

 

There is no way of saying what that actually means. Maybe they just reserved all those dates so they could add them quickly if they wanted and now decided against it, because of disappointing ticket sales.

 

For LA people there were rumours about 8 shows, but I guess they held back for some reason or other. I thought those sold quickly as well though.

 

Maybe they'll have a third batch of sales though. There's still gaps if you consider a 2 shows - 2 days off schedule.

 

Logistically and resource wise, it make sense to fill those gaps.... don't want to keep paying crew etc for days off

For some reason the West coast aint selling well? Like LA, San Jose still have tickets. weird

I think they'll go for some show on the 2nd leg so that the setlist is more defined and they know their stage better. So Amsterdam, Barcelona are my bets

Oh man this is so f'ed up. I thought using your presale codes to buy tickets and then resell them for more was bad enough...

but this you're actually trying to make a profit of a code, not even tickets...

These people should be tracked down and blocked from U2.com. The presales are for fans, not scalpers

I just poked around StubHub. I see the same thing that I see when we have Ranger playoff tickets. We have Ranger season tickets and are always guaranteed playoff tickets at face value. Sometimes we will post tickets on Ticketsnow (authorized re-seller for Ticketmaster/MSG/NYRangers) for sale at an inflated price - we will take the money, but if the tickets don't sell at that price, we will happily go to the game. If it's a situation where we really can't use the tickets, we will sell them for face value or a slight markup to cover our costs. What I am seeing on StubHub for the U2 tickets at MSG is similar. People are posting pairs of tickets for $2500 a ticket - in the lower bowl, there may be one or two pair in a section. These are members who got presale tickets, and will take the money (and probably get cheaper tickets in the regular on-sale on Monday). If the posted tickets don't sell at the inflated price, they will use the tickets themselves.

 

For the record - I have no intention of selling the tickets that I have. I am just very aware of what is happening on the secondary market in New York.

I understand that but what kind of fan tries to take advantage of other fans? everyone I know just wanted the tickets for themselves, and were very glad to get them.

One thing I think we can be fairly sure of is that there will be very little from No Line On The Horizon.

 

They seem to have a real downer on that based on recent interviews.
