  1. Well speak of the Devil! :Bananaphisto:

So as I thought, it's just tracks from both of the albums. The sequence is nice as well, mostly representing the running order of the show but with strays here and there. Just a shame Lucifer's Hands didn't make it onto the Innocence disc. And yeah, loving those photos!

45, 066 - I'm not sure I could cope with the stampede scene again - it was emotional enough first time round!

And I hear they've watered down Scar and the hyenas to make them less sinister? Which somewhat misses the point... they're *meant* to be sinister because they're the baddies.

45068 - Scar was a mixed bag. When the film got it right he was properly menacing, but when they got it wrong he was a bit...theatrical/over-dramatic, I thought? Beyonce was very good as Nala though.

  3. Not exactly going to a gig tonight. BUT, I'm going to the cinema for a screening of The Cure's 40th anniversary show at Hyde Park last summer, which incidentally I was at! Does that count as going to the same gig twice? Just a shame they didn't film Editors or Interpol (who were both supporting).

Someone at one of the stages gave me free passes to cover the rest of the festival. She is so sweet. She'll put me in the pit and get me backstage if she can.  She knew I was ornery...  I'm going to see Chvrches tomorrow night.

CHVRCHES are a great band. Enjoy!

  5. Been a busy couple of days! Raced against everything on Saturday night to be able to see Bloc Party play Silent Alarm in full (and in reverse!) at the Brighton Centre and it was worth all the effort. Standout show.

Also saw Gojira at Brixton Academy last night with Rolo Tomassi supporting and it was brutally brilliant. What band is mad enough to have pyrotechnics at a relatively small indoor venue on the hottest weekend of the year? Gojira, that's who. Me and my brother were stood right at the back and we could still feel the heat from the flames!

  6. Interpol were sublime last night! I almost didn't make it on time because of work, but managed to get there about half an hour before they started, met up with a friend and ended up 3 rows from the front! Incredible gig, and the lightshow was awesome too!

peterferris8: Slipknot-Corey seems to have an incredible voice.  How someone can screech like he does and still have a beautiful voice is beyond me.  Tool is coming to my city but I can't afford it.  I'd love to see them.  I'm glad you had such a good time.

Corey was on it on Saturday night. Given how much punishment his vocal cords must take in one night alone with Slipknot, his scream is way better than it has any right to be after 20 years!

It's been two days since I returned home from Download, and the festival withdrawal symptoms are kicking in hard...Still, one week til Interpol!

Hey Pete! Yes it is by chance, I can read this. Or have...thanks to Mich who passed it my way, bless her...

Nice one you saw Tool! I am glad you enjoyed their set, they are truly a special band ain't they! New album August 30th too...

    How are you anyhow?

Well fancy seeing you here! I'm good thanks, just getting on with life as anyone generally does, how about you?

  9. Got back from Download today and I'm still just about alive! Wonderful weekend. Finally got to see Slipknot headline on the Saturday who I've been dying to see for ages and they were everything I hoped they'd be and more. Tool headlined the Sunday - it was their first UK show in 12 years and they were truly incredible. (If by pure chance MacFoley happens to read this, thanks for recommending them to me all those years ago!) So many other amazing bands as well. Next up for me is Interpol at the Brighton Dome next Wednesday!

  10. 44971 - Exasperated counting as my country is once again rolling out the red carpet for Trump today. This is the one good thing about all these Brexit shenanigans - for just a little while, you forget who's in the White House across the pond.

Any ideas on who will be the support act for asia dates?

Where will the Asia tickets be sold? Specifically South Korea. I want to set up an account before the presale.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds are supporting on all shows. Good choice too, saw him at Twickenham on the 2017 Joshua Tree tour and also twice headlining in his own right!
