  1. Whoops! Forgot to update this for a good while, time flies when you're working hard! Elbow were stellar as always, posted some videos & photos on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CT-yvDUD7_Q/ Saw another incredible gig on Friday night - Nothing But Thieves headlining the O2 arena, first London gig I've attended in 20 months (the last one was Editors at Wembley Arena in February last year). Last time I was at the O2 was 2 years ago to see Muse - supported, funnily enough, by Nothing But Thieves. On Friday it was their show and they owned it - you could that it meant a lot to them given this was their biggest show after working so hard for so many years meant a lot to them. Again, some photos & videos on my Insta, including the support band, Yonaka (who, it turns out, went to the same uni as me!): https://www.instagram.com/p/CUyjGuBIcar/
  2. Saw Royal Blood at the Brighton Centre two nights ago, a homecoming show for them! Absolutely stonking performance, loved hearing the new songs live for the first time. Seeing them again in London at the O2 in March. Seeing Elbow at the very same venue tomorrow night. Looking forward to it, been a long time since I last saw them.
  3. Mon the Biff! Seeing them at the Forum in Kentish Town in 2 months, been 5 years since I last saw them. Very hyped. Oh, and make sure you get there early for Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes!
  4. In the UK and got mine a couple of days ago! Currently self-isolating so couldn't have arrived at a better time really.
  5. RIP Dusty. Also, RIP to Joey Jordison, former drummer and founding member of Slipknot, only 46.
  6. My next one is in a few days! Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls at Concorde 2 in Brighton. He was the last major artist I saw before lockdown (at the Brighton Dome) and now he's the first one I'm seeing after lockdown! Also spontaneously found myself seeing Jamie Lenman play an acoustic show at Chalk in Brighton last weekend. Great show! Currently lined up in the near future I have Elbow at the Brighton Centre, Biffy Clyro at the Kentish Town Forum in London, Rolo Tomassi at Chalk, Kid Kapichi at Patterns in Brighton, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes at Brixton Academy, Gojira at Alexandra Palace, Royal Blood at The O2, Everything Everything at the Brighton Dome, and Foals at the London Olympia. More will inevitably join the list...
  7. Booked an appointment today to get my first shot of the covid vaccine next Wednesday. Been waiting so long.
  8. Me and my band filmed a music video! Here's a behind the scenes shot:
  9. I liked it! Feels like the shot of optimism that we all need right now.
  10. Finally resubbed about half an hour ago after a year of not being paid up. Got my three downloads, these performances are amazing! Can't wait to receive the full thing.
  11. This is the long list I've got lined up for the next year. Elbow at the Brighton Centre, 18 September with the family. Was meant to be in April last year for my brother's birthday but we all know what happened. Biffy Clyro at the Forum, London, 2 November. Was meant to be last month but got delayed given the timetable for restrictions being lifted. Kid Kapichi at Patterns, Brighton, 13 November. 5 days before my birthday! Was meant to be in March last year, then got rescheduled to March just gone, but again, pushed back by the timetable. Last week I bagged tickets for Royal Blood at the O2 London, for 30 March next year. This one probably (hopefully) won't need to be rescheduled! Everything Everything at the Brighton Dome, 12 April next year. This was meant to be last month, but I think you know how this goes by now... Foals at the Olympia in London, 30 April. Was meant to be this month, but...I don't even have to say it! Looking forward to getting more booked in. There's a lot to catch up on!
  12. 46665 - Nabbed a ticket for me and my brother to see Royal Blood at the O2 next year. God I'm so excited for live music to come back.
  13. 46,663 - May the 4th be with you, Beck! Ooh look, there's a 66 in the number I just put...speaking of which, watched The Bad Batch premiere on Disney+ this morning. That was, in the words of a very important returning character, quite an impressive display.
  14. It's not necessarily even a case of people not caring about quality and collecting things, it's just that no-one can afford it these days because the ratrace has left everyone so poor. When I was a kid I had enough pocket money to quite happily stroll into HMV and get a CD or DVD at a bargain price. Now I'm an adult working 30-40 hours a week getting paid minimum wage, and almost all of those paychecks go on rent, bills, council tax, food, etc. For the financial straits that a lot of people (particularly young people) are in these days, streaming services are just easier find the budget space for.
  15. 46650 - I hope so too! I wasn't even needed at work yesterday or today so I'm just staying home. It's not even nervousness about going out, because people are heading to pubs and bars with outdoor seating no problemo. If anything it's more to do with how remote my workplace is compared to everywhere else in town. Good thing I've still got flexible furlough to tide me over.
  16. 46648 - Went back to work yesterday, was super quiet and I only actually served 2 tables in the space of 3 hours.
  17. Tonight was a full journey, like a long car ride. I'm glad it ended in a place of love & joy. Now more than ever, I want to be at a U2 show. The Virtual Road has been so much fun to be part of, and it's been great hanging with you all again!
  18. Eagles of Death Metal come up. This is, without a doubt, one of the kindest things I've ever seen one band do for another band.
  19. The version they did on Twickenham night 1 of The Joshua Tree tour with a shot of Bowie was so good I wasn't even sad about missing out on A Sort of Homecoming!
  20. Somewhere on YouTube is footage from London night 6 of Ali in the VIP section dancing to this song with Noel Gallagher.
  21. Said it before and I'll say it again, Beautiful Day resonates with me so much these days. Sometimes in all the darkness it's exactly what we need.
