  1. 45568 - Ooh, forum's had a bit of a facelift! Looks good.
  2. It's BBC Radio 2, they're not exactly what you'd call a metal-centric station; hence why Back In Black and Appetite for Destruction are pretty much the only two in there.
  3. Happy U2versary! Thank you for changing our lives, boys!
  4. 45555 - Ooh, four fives. A thought's just occurred to me - Zooropa is the only U2 album with cover art that isn't a photo! How strange is that?
  5. Last night I watched Biffy Clyro do a livestreamed online gig to launch their new album A Celebration of Endings. They played at the Barrowlands in Glasgow, with no audience in the building, instead you bought a 'ticket' for £14 which would allow you to view the livestream on YouTube. In the area where there'd normally be an audience they instead had loads of different performance areas where they moved between throughout the set, along with a section that seated an orchestra. One of the most inspiring things I've ever seen, and apart from anything else, it makes me really miss live music.
  6. 45527 - Went on a 4-hour walk this morning. My legs are lead.
  7. I baked some brownies today! Not exactly banana bread but finally catching up with everyone else's quarantine activities.

  9. To be honest, given that this year has been so...unexpected, it wouldn't completely blow my mind if we ended up hearing this or even just one or two songs that were intended for it. Maybe there are some Ascent demos lying around? Could do with some more lockdown listening... That said, I think given that Songs of Innocence/Experience were marketed as a two-part era, I think this'll be a separate musical entity.
  10. 45509 Happy belated birthday @padawanbeck84!
  11. 45495 - That's what happens when you have a prime minister as inept and callous as Boris Johnson. He missed 5 emergency meetings in January, February and March, and wanted to go the opposite way of all the other countries in lockdown and pursue a strategy of 'herd immunity' - the idea that if enough people in the UK get sick with the virus and pass it on, we'll all become immune. This is blatant nonsense as recovering from the virus doesn't make you immune, and would've resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths. The only reason the lockdown happened is because of the public outcry, which is
  12. 45493 - Spent the entire day mixing & creating MP3s from multitrack files of new songs, and creating structures and sheet music for them as well. Not the most fun part of being a musician, I have to say...
  13. 45491 - I work in a restaurant, and according to current government guidelines restaurants, pubs & bars could be open again as soon as 1 July, which would currently put us at halfway through lockdown. Halfway through lockdown, with what's just been confirmed as the second worst death toll in the world. Needless to say, I'm a bit worried.
  14. 45489 - Boris Johnson has announced Schrödinger's lockdown. Go out and go to work, but don't.
  15. 45484 - I haven't really delved into Rebels yet but Clone Wars is absolutely worth watching all the way through. Especially the later seasons.
  16. 45482 - Happy Star Wars day! Watched the finale of the Clone Wars in the wee early hours of the morning - so sad and so beautiful.
  17. 45481 - Meanwhile in America people are protesting *against* social distancing measures.
  18. 45472 - Two friends of mine, who also happen to be guitarist and drummer in the UK's leading all-female Ramones tribute band (The Ramonas), doing an instrumental of In A Little While. Who here remembers the link between The Ramones and this song?
  19. 45438 - Just over an hour ago, my entire neighbourhood clapped for the NHS and everyone working right now to battle COVID-19. Love truly is bigger than anything in its way.
  20. 45424 - Just saw that Glastonbury's been cancelled, less than a week after they announced the lineup. Bad times.
  21. 45421 - Our idiot PM has been his idiot self again today, making an announcement that recommends that theatres shut but not explicitly issuing a shutdown order. This is bad because it means that these venues won't be able to claim insurance for the time of closure because they were advised rather than ordered. The Dome, which is one of Brighton's biggest venues, has just announced it's temporarily closed. My work have issued some new cleaning protocols but they haven't given us any clarity on the bigger questions - IE should we be expecting a shutdown order? If we get shut down are we go
  22. 45416 - I counted two coughing children and two coughing adults at work today. Crazy how far people's hygiene has fallen! And the government's response has been useless, especially compared to other countries. Maybe this will be what finally ends the Tories at the next election.
  23. 45413 - Seeing a lot of people being like "it's nothing, people need to stop panicking about it!" Panicking will do nothing to make the situation better, yes. But sticking fingers in ears, going "LA LA LA" and pretending it isn't happening definitely will make it worse. Wash your hands, with soap & hot water, stay hygienic, follow the advice, don't stock up on things other people need too, and don't cough or sneeze without covering your mouth!
  24. I'm gonna go one further than the people mentioning Blu Ray and say...haven't the band heard of Netflix?
