  1.

Fun fact: if you call ticketmaster customer service, if you push hard enough, they WILL exchange your tickets for different, still available tickets, for a fee of $7 per tickets.

Is there a Canadian number, or did you use the US number?  Thx.

    1-855-985-HELP

    Go exchange those tickets!

Good to know. Maybe people who in desperation bought poor seats can move to GA (which are still available).

  2. ... I don't understand why Ticketmaster was selling memberships and lumping the longtime subscribers who had lapsed in with them.

And then there is the whole issue of getting on right at 9am and only having the option of 300 level tickets at the far end sold as "best available seats." With a day of persistence I was able to get my GA ticket but talk about a terrible experience.

Well, TM was selling the memberships surely because LiveNation (or whomever is managing u2.com) arranged for it. And I do understand why people whose membership lapsed are disappointed, but there has to be some sort of cut-off, no? Dec 24th seems to me to be a date that makes the most sense.

And I also feel the practice of slowly dripping in the coveting seats over the course of the day is a poor practice for a presale exclusive to paying fan-club members.

  3. ...Yeah I just noticed the pre sale fees, why are we paying additional pre sale fees ?

I wondered the same thing. It certainly wasn't for a well organized experience - the seating map wasn't up until well after the RED HILL presale started.

Now I am even more angry. Ticketmaster dropping GA tickets four hours after the presale opens is terrible. Given past tour experiences, I figured that I needed to act fast and get what I could. So, when I couldn't get Toronto, I grabbed GA for Cleveland instead. Why would we assume that waiting four hours would yield tickets after getting shut out for several hours of trying. The end result is that now I have used my presale codes and can't get the tickets that I originally wanted that are now mysteriously available hours upon hours after the presale began. This is beyond frustrating as a fan!

Speculation on my part but I wouldn't be surprised if Live Nation actually "holds" the better tickets back initially figuring that fans in a panic will pay the premium for the $280 seats or a VIP package. I know sometimes it takes a bit for their system to refresh itself as the unsold seats in people's carts get released but it was crazy how suddenly all the GA started popping up after nothing for hours.

There are a good number $280 seats still available. The 200s look all gone. Lots of 500s.

And now Blue Jays season seat holder have a window.

  5.

Ideally, U2 would use the same system as Pearl Jam: Buy the tickets on the band's site and find out your seats when you pick them up at the window on show day based on seniority.

The first two rows are lottery, so the same people don't get up front every show.

    Very fair and stops scalping.

    I like that idea

That's how it USED to be with Pearl Jam. (Formerly the industry standard, IMO, for paid Fan Clubs.) My experience for their last 3 tours is such that I think how they handle ticket sale is really poor.

  6. People are under the assumption that all the great tickets come out first. That isn't the case. They are released in waves, just because something isn't available right now doesn't mean it won't pop up in 15 minutes, or 30 minutes, etc. Just keep trying.

    ...

I accept that as the reality; however, it should be so damn hard to buy tickets on a FanClub presale. The best seats allocated for the pre-sales should be available from the beginning - why the hell are paying fan-club members having to play that game?.

  7. Still a good chunk of tickets available, so those of you in the Wires group I think should be fine. Even GA's still around as of nearly 6 pm EST. I am surprised that Toronto compared to other Eastern markets is selling a bit slower. Or just not a lot of Red Hill members here? might pick up in a few days.

Could be that (1) we're not that big (2) few Red Hill members, and (3) with a ticket allocation of 4 people aren't able to travel to Toronto.

  8.

anyone know if all tickets are paperless? or just GA sec?

When I bought mine (via ticketmaster/chrome/on pc) I got 500 level and the option came up to select paperless for delivery.  That was my only choice.

My 200 level seats were also paperless (no other option).

  9. This is a pretty disappointing presale.

RZ sold out in seconds (if there were even any available.)

The top price seats were in a disappointing location.

Ended up grabbing a pair in the 200s, very low row.

Very strange that the availability for a stadium show was more limited and worse than the last two arena shows.

  10.

And surprisingly, I didn't have to enter any pre-sale code. I accessed TM website directly via link at U2.com while I was logged in my account. Maybe that's why... :o But everything worked so smooth... ;)

tried Berlin and it asks for code every time...

For Rome there is no code required for VIP packages.
