and it might rain
Finally, a valid concern. ;-)
-
This has been an ongoing problem ever since TicketMaster got into the ticket scalping business. They don't want you selling your tickets because they don't want the competition.
Ticketmaster makes a percentage on every ticket that is resold on their site. A free-for-all only helps them...
-
Not exactly. TM distinguishes "transferring" from "reselling"--so to be clear, TM should have simply said that neither transferring or reselling would be possible.
Yes, but usually tickets that can't be resold can be transferred. So, it seems a bit of a stretch to think that a ticket that you can't even transfer to a friend could be sold to a stranger (and if that were the case, imagine the uproar on here! heh). This restriction was the same as I+E (except for us people in NY at the time), no?
Just not clear why the same set-up is shocking this time... I specifically bought one ticket to shows where I didn't know if people would join me, since I knew I'd be stuck with them, have to meet with people to all go in together... was too much hassle, so I just bought one for me, heh. People who couldn't decide in time? Oh well, too late... I bought'm already.

With VIP, you are given a gift for paying a lot of $$$. With RZ, you are giving the gift to (RED) and just getting close to the stage.
-
If you got a GA floor ticket for an arena show, especially one like I+E where they used the whole length of the arena, there would be some point at which you would be within 30 feet of all band members throughout the night... in a stadium, unless you're really into queuing up, RZ is the only way to know you will be close to the band/stage. I did both this time, so I will see them from RZ and get up close and do all that good stuff, without queuing early, and then 11 days later, I will see them GA also without queuing, but I am going into that without trying to get close to the stage/band and just taking in the whole experience...

The Ticketmaster pages said Credit Card Entry tickets would not be resellable, doesn't differentiate between GA or seats. I doubt you will be able to sell them, probably have to find someone who wants to go and enter with them.
-
And finally--apparently even fans who bought SEATS in presale can't resell them!! (vs. seats bought in public onsale, which can). This causes tons of people major problems, particularly because the FAQ said nothing about that (only mentions no transfers).
That's what non-transferrable means, though. You can't transfer them, for free or for money, to anyone else.
-
Every page said that credit card entry tickets were not transferrable. The tickets being sold (seats further away, tickets sold through venue pre-sales to people with season passes to sports events, etc.) are not credit card entry tickets, so those people can sell theirs.
-
Not overly concerned, no. I saw I+E 4 times and had a blast. I'll see these shows and have a great time. And if the band has to put tickets onsale in advance of knowing exactly what they are doing, then it just means we will be surprised when it happens. If the stage is shaped like a Joshua Tree and it is called the Joshua Tree Live Tour and all interviews so far mention The Joshua Tree.... seems like they are somewhat committed to their version of what it means to celebrate the anniversary. And we'll find out soon enough...

In a lot of cases, people with season passes to the sporting events in arenas/stadiums have their own presales for any other entertainment event that also comes through, and are sent hard tickets. The fact that most StubHub listings are UPS delivery seem to indicate this is likely the case. Of course, a lot of season passes at these venues are purchased by... you guessed it, scalpers! But it isn't really anything U2 can combat, since it is built into the contracts with the venues.

I'm not much of a mobile guy, but if you enable the Ticketmaster app to post notifications on your device, you don't have to enter any codes... ;-)
-
so I won't get a new (or refreshed) code until either a new tour or a second stage of this current one gets announced even though I have paid another year's subs?
Or, you could think that in 12 months time, you will still be able to buy SOE tour tickets... because you didn't use your code up already! ;-)
-
Ah well looks like that's my last chance of RZ gone.
Should still be RZ in the Wires presale and public onsale, no?
-
Lots of concerts call GA floors with no seats "Floor Seating." No clue why, but certainly not unique...
-
Crossing my fingers for you to make that NJ2 happen :-)
Thanks! It happened. ;-)
-
You're not getting a Joshua Tree instead of a SOE release/tour... you're getting it IN ADDITION TO those things.
-
Going to Philly... and we'll see whether NJ2 gets added to that list in 17 minutes. ;-)
UPDATE: Got a GA by 9:01a, so NJ2 it is!
-
Yeah, only a souvenir ticket...
-
Am I losing it or are these tickets not supposed to be on sale until presale tomorrow?? Am I missing something...?
Well, could be a few things. Most likely being they are selling inventory they don't have... or people with season's passes at the stadium may be able to purchase tickets to any concerts as part of their package.
-
Pretty sure RZ has its own entrance but there will probably also be access from the GA section.
Yeah, I think the separate entrance is mainly a courtesy to not have to deal with the volume of people going into GA, not that you can't cross between the two... well, WE can cross between the two. They can't. ;-)
-
I think that was once additional legs were added, not additional shows to the same legs.
-
Does Philly usually rank a second date? If not, I may want to try for NJ... anyone have any predictions?
-
Well question #2 answered....
I think that's the answer to question #1, as well...
Tour Gift in RZ ticket?
