How much was US Red Zone?
$350
-
Yup, by 9:01:30, I had a Red Zone for Philly. Easy...
-
Standing by for RZ in Tor, but wanted RZ for Dublin and was about to buy them, but saw tiny tiny tiny PRINT that said kids under 16 not allowed on pitch.
Are you under 16? The full text is "No under 16's will be allowed on the pitch unless accompanied by an adult."
-
Somebody at TM screwed up the RZ tickets for the presale, the cynic in me thinks it was done on purpose to allow the touts / Get Me In to get in there first but I could be wrong.
If RZ is credit card entry only/paperless, there would seemingly be no benefit to scalpers buying them, no? Need a personal credit card and potentially an ID to enter.

I had no issue doing this on Ticketmaster for I+E. Bought a single GA ticket for one MSG show, and then another single for a later GA MSG show. No problem. Well, aside from Ticketmaster.com crashing and burning and barely being functional... but no issues with using the code twice! ;-)
-
Hi I'm new to this so was wondering if anyone could explain the process, what site etc the pre-sale is on?
Depends on your show, whoever sells tickets for that stadium, you'll just pop your code onto their site. In the US, probably Ticketmaster...

So, the HBO show ended up being the Sunday show due to technical difficulties?! I guess at this point, they aren't going to flip back to the Monday version? Patti Smith instead of Eagles of Death Metal, though...
-
It was like $86 (fees included) for NYC.

I have the opposite reaction. I think the fact that every tour has a specific look, feel, setlist, etc., sort of gives it a uniqueness. I remember specific tours because they were specific, focused things whereas, as much as I love Pearl Jam, all of their concerts bleed together over the years, since they all are just end stage, freeform things. I've been seeing less shows when it is just a GA floor and an end stage for that reason, instead seeing bands that put on a show like U2, Muse, etc.
As for feeling detached, I think that is only the case for people who queue up and rush to the end stage, like that is still meant to be the hub of activity. For people on the rest of the floor, the rest of the lower bowl, and the upper levels, they have all been brought in closer to the band.
Ultimately, though, it doesn't matter, since this is the show U2 want to put on, with everything from the big light bulb to the massive screen coming directly from the band.

Saw this snippet of Bono's teleprompter on a MSG bootleg, and thought this might put to rest the notion that U2 has any desire to really mix up the setlist every night.
Since it is hard to read. The teleprompter was between the first and second song, as they were about to go into Out of Control.
It reads: "We're a band from the Northside of Dublin called The U2. Let's do this"
So, if he's scripting THAT in advance every night, it just doesn't seem like a new setlist all the time is really in the cards. No?
-
Now, if they scrapped the videos and just played on a stage - with perhaps a runway and another stage nearby, as on this tour - I think they could play almost any song they liked and vary it up most nights as they will not have to be slaves to visuals.
Is there any evidence they want to do that, though? Everything directive about the design of this tour seemed to come from the band...
This is not U2 at the top of their game. Playing it "safe" is not being at the top.
Who gets to decide what is safe for them if not them?
The only way to combat that is for individuals to ignore social media platforms and gig updates, or for 'spoiler' warnings to be included in gig reviews!!
Seems like once you're reading a gig review, you've crossed the point of spoiler warnings...
-
I think unique presale codes always require you to be a member at the time of the sale, since when Ticketmaster does the lookup for that number, you wouldn't show as a current member in the U2 database, even if you had saved the code from earlier...
-
thanks for the response - I get the idea as it should help cut down on ticket touts though i do like having my tickets as a souvenir of the event
You do get a printed stub after you do your scan, with your seating location, etc., printed on it. You still need something to show them so you can prove those are your seats.
I never ever saw them look at a photo ID for any of the paperless shows I've attended.
-
Not sure about there, but in the US, people who have season passes to sporting teams, etc., get their own presales. Often for the same area in which they have season passes. Typically, those are seats that are never available to the general public, since they always buy them and resell. How many season pass holders are really just full-time scalpers at this point? Who can tell...
-
I'm kinda getting anxious. I haven't had the codes reinstated yet (I'm in Ireland) Will they definitely be back before the presale starts tomorrow.
Since the whole presale is for people with codes, and no one has confirmed any codes restored yet... it stands to reason they will all re-appear in time. Otherwise, it will be a very sleepy pre-sale if no one can buy tickets. ;-)
-
Anybody taking bets on how quick ticket master will crash on Monday morning ????
Well, everyone kept saying they wanted the I+E tour experience to come to Ireland. This is part of it. ;-)
All paperless should help, though.
-
So wait, the dates are this year as promised and your codes will work?! Where are my apologies? ;-)
-
great concert but people around me were , lets be nice and just say obnoxious. I was yelled at for holding up a sign to bono for like 30 seconds.
You mean the people behind you wanted to see Bono and not the back of your sign?! Crazy New York audiences...
-
The security guard I stood next to for three of the shows gave me a fist bump to welcome me to "my spot" the second two times, and was very nice the entire time. It's always hit or miss who you interact with there... although I never try to bring anything in with me (aside from two bottle caps).
-
Always picked from the eStage in NYC (at the shows I attended), and usually from behind Larry or in the "front" of the e-stage (although that was Jimmy Fallon, so he may not count. ;-)
-
I like the colored mens shirts with the simple logo on it, and the special NYC one. I ended up getting the black one with them in bed, too, because I donated $50 to give some poor people water or something?! I forget the details, heh.
-
Ahh, just looked at the Chicago one again and remember why I forgot about it... ;-)
-
They only did this in NYC.

My assumption is there were many resale tix (including GA) that went unclaimed.
Ticketmaster doesn't own the resale tix. The original purchasers do. So if, as a reseller, you don't sell your tickets before the cutoff, you can still use your tickets. Ticketmaster wouldn't have the right to resell them at that point, since they wouldn't know the plans of the original purchaser.
