  1. For MSG, it feels like it's much louder the higher you go. Last Wednesday, I was in section 119 and the volume was high, but not uncomfortable for me.

Tonight I was on the Bridge - up in the rafters, side stage (looking down at Adam) and at times it was uncomfortably loud (bomb/news sequence). I brought earplugs for my 11 year old - she asked for them as soon as they went into Gloria and left them in all night.

I've had that kind of experience at MSG before - the higher you are, the louder it seems.

Well, the speakers are all in the ceiling pointing down for this tour, so....

  2. The band seem pretty diplomatic as far as playing to both sides, so unless you want to be the Mysterious Ways dancer (which seemingly is always picked from the south side), either is fine. I've only done north twice, so far.

  3. I was also suprised by the amount of people on their phones... Fb... Twitter... I get wanting to send a quick pic or post to share your excitement. But it was non stop. They really missed out on a lot of the show trying to post about it

That is every concert anymore. On Wednesday, on the Floor, during Every breaking Wave, the girl in front of me was actually deleting apps and organizing her iPhone... not even sharing the experience of being at the concert. Crazy...

  4. My ticket is no longer available. After looking on Ticketmaster, I realized the 7/31 GAs were going for a lot more in the resale pricing, probably because of the "last day" factor. So, I sold that ticket for $450 and then bought a $350 GA for Sunday?! So, I got to trade AND made $100? Is this is progress, count me out... but if there is a system, I will sort out how to game it. ;-)

  5. Back to @U2TUF, If you want to be upset with anybody, aim it at Ticketmaster.  I just learned today from a buddy of mine that the Ticketmaster reseller feature gouges even more money from the TM Resale price.  Apparently (this is second hand), if you resale through TM your ticket at $450, they take over $100 (he would only receive $330 from the resale). IF THIS IS TRUE, then Ticketmaster is even more EVIL than everyone understands.  Not only do they gouge us for "convenience fees" which are upwards of 25% of the actual ticket cost (and this is for EVERY TICKET SOLD), they then have the audacity to double-dip with an even larger 30%+ for the TM Resale (again, apparently as I have not used this feature).

I've resold tickets through them. Completely true. They take a % so the more you make, the more they make, etc.

  6. I think GA has to be somewhat thinned out due to the amount of stage U2 has on the floor, compared to other bands, based on fire regulations and such. So with an arena-length stage, that reduces the number of seats they can sell at all, so that it isn't completely jam-packed. Whereas a band with an end stage and no runways or anything can get a lot more people in there.

People have been saying all along that you should head to this part of the floor around this point, and on and on, which leads me to think that is pretty standard.

  7. I went to 4 different tables to try to find any men's shirt in XXL. The only shirts available were the standard black-and-white bed shot with tour dates on the back.

And WARNING: the shirts are American Apparel GARBAGE. They run small. The material is thin as hell. The XXL on me was like slipping a spandex wet suit over my chest. One wash and this shirt is a goner.

And CRAZY PRICED. I love the $5 up-charge for a shirt that's barely larger than an XL.

If they are garbage and crazy priced, doesn't that make the size issue less relevant?

Also, all of the shirts are on the website, with all available in XXL, to which you can apply your u2.com membership coupon code and get a discount.

  8. Bono admits he's lost grip of any ticketing concerns, btw:

"On the ticket question: Monopolies are generally not good, not good for innovation, not good for competition. Some years back we looked back into taking charge of ticketing. But this is maybe a weak answer for you. I've lost grip of that question. I wasn't aware it was a nagging issue. This is probably due to the multi-personality disorder issue that I have. I do a lot of things, I try to be on top of things, but I'm not aware of this being a problem. I should make more time to look into this, because it does affect us and our audience. I would be very upset if they weren't being treated well. We have a history of trying to get these things right. But these things can get by you."

  9. Pure speculation, since I haven't been to the tour yet, but wouldn't the other side of the RZ fence in the middle of the arena put you between both stages, and perfectly lined up with the screens?! Closer to the stage might be more of a problem, unless you have a fancy chair where you can raise yourself up. I queued up at a concert behind someone in a wheelchair once thinking, this will be great, perfect view, and then five minutes to show time, she cranked that seat up and completely blocked my view ;-)
