  1. Why does everyone think GA means queuing for hours?! ;-) I have GA for most of the NYC shows and plan to show up around show time every time. The floor isn't that big, and the worst GA spot is still in front of the people with seats. So RZ would make sense, but I don't know that I would pay an extra $720 to guarantee a spot behind the spot you have guaranteed now... and it's not like they're going to be sitting in those seats.

  2. Todays teaser is sick!

I wonder what the views will be like from the end of the curl of the 'e'. This is what I'll be aiming for, if as I said above, the band spends a lot of time on the e-stage, & the views aren't obstructed by the screen.

With a divided GA floor, hard to know whether the end of the e-stage will be anywhere you can go, or if that will connect right to the seated area.

  3. Actually it's at the 6 second mark + just noticed also at the 33 second mark the walkway is definitelly in the air (you can see the under walkway floor structure braces, normally would not see that unless the platform has risin').

Hard to know if that is the walkway or them testing the rig for the video screen before loading it on there. No need to speculate much longer, though, tour is this week...

  4. $312 for side stage is ridiculous. I've got 109's and when purchased, based on the MSG diagram they looked great... now not so much! How the hell can they put the onsale with those prices well before they have any idea how the stage will really be configured?!?!?!?

I think they always knew where the main stage and B stage would be. I still think you will be right on the side of the main stage, which is always a full priced seat at MSG. I think the existing Ticketmaster map was based on RZ being near the B stage, which is no longer the case.

  5. I am thinking of going to San Jose may 18, I have no ticket for that day but in reading the different forms it's been said that ga tickets may b on hand? Does anyone have an idea of what I could do to possibly get a ticket there. I would appreciate anyones ideas of what u would do.

    Thanks!

Unless you live there, I doubt I would show up thinking GAs will just be available. When extra tickets are released to shows it is usually a day or so early and online. Not sure turning up at the box office will do you any good. I'd sort them out on here through a trade in the San Jose folder, or StubHub it. Now, if you live there, sure, head down... but don't get too excited that you're seeing U2 until there's a ticket in your hand.

I have always had fantastic experiences in the GA line and have enjoyed the incredible fellowship with folks we have met, In  many cases, this was the start of a long, wonderful friendship! Looking so incredibly forward to this. I really need this. I lost my job 6 days before Christmas because my company was sold. But our tickets were bought and paid for, so this has been somnething to which I have been clinging as a "something to look forward to" for all these months. I am still clinging.

I'm so sorry to hear that that happened to you.  I just wanted to say I had a similar experience in 2009 around the time of the 360 tour - when the tickets went onsale, I had a job, but when the shows actually happened, I didn't.  The show was amazingly cathartic and was a much needed night off from the day to day reality of being out of work.  I hope things turn around for you sooner than later, and I hope you have the most amazing time the night of your show!

Same boat here. I have tickets to all 8 MSG shows, but lost my job right after buying them (thankfully I paid off the credit card bill before the hours got slashed)... not really planning to give up the tickets, though. ;-)

  7. Check your order page on Ticketmaster.com. If the Transfer button is there, you can have someone here PayPal you the $$$ then transfer them to their name on Ticketmaster.com (not sure how that works with paperless, but they are reissued, so if Ticketmaster allows it, it would be fine). Otherwise, you can list your tickets on Ticketmaster... if you are listing them for cost, and want someone on here to get them and not just a scalper who might buy and resist them at a higher price, just tell people on here exactly when you are going to put them there.

Here is an image a Twitter user recently posted:"Here's the official stage layout for Vancouver."CEnU5TzUMAAHi-4.jpg

I checked the Rogers Arena website, as well as Ticketmaster, but all I've found is the same layout as before.

    Thoughts?

I have red zone tickets for opening night and got an email from "Red Zone" confirming instructions for the day of the show. The email contained this stage setup. It is almost certainly the actual setup, although i doubt it is to scale.

Atu2 is running this image in their FAQ from responses they got from LiveNation about the tour...

  9. i know right. so how can there be all of these GA seats for sale by 3rd party sellers?? how can they possibly get you in the show? im very confused by this.

Unless you are referring to NYC, where paperless is illegal. Also, if you are looking at resellers on Ticketmaster, they can do it there, since Ticketmaster just cancels your tickets when they sell and reissues them to the new seller.

  10.

Hey, interesting podcast here with the guy who did the NY Times article, he expands on some of what was covered in the write up, nice listen, about 20mins long

    http://podcasts.nytimes.com/podcasts/2015/05/08/arts/music/08popcast_pod/08popcast.mp3

    good find :)

Interesting stuff, but the guy who hosted the show and didn't do the interview with U2 was pretty annoying... seems like he was more concerned with finding drama and conflicts with album sales, whether anyone will know the songs, and on and on...

  11. im just wondering if the swiping of the card is at the time of admitting OR if you swipe to get a ticket/pass/voucher etc. meaning if your mother did go with you, would she go as far as is needed in line until they swipe? is this outside or inside? This would be great if it was outside, so if fans need to swap and buy tickets between each other to go to mulitple nights/cities they could allow their "guest" access without having to enter together.

    does that make sense?

It is inside. Your scenario would make it just as easy for scalpers to sell tickets. I only did ticketless once in Boston, but you went inside, through security, queued in line, and right where they scan your ticket, they swiped your card instead, and a "stub" with your location/row/seat printed on a small thing on their hip, they handed you the stub, and you entered the venue. It is specifically at the point where it would be awkward for a scalper to do it. I'm in NY, so I don't know if that is unique to us due to our ban on paperless tickets, but you can transfer paperless tickets to other people in advance, which cancels your tickets and reissues them in their name on ticketmaster.com.
