  1. Since it is only occurring in cities where they are playing multiple shows, it doesn't seem to be an issue. They can just play either setlist or a combined one. I mean, even if they played the traditional night 1 setlist on a one-off show, it's not like it's a play with a cliffhanger, and everyone is going to be left wondering what happened... they are still self-contained rock concerts.

  2. It does seem to defeat the purpose of having an RZ ticket if you then have to get there earlier for the chance to get a tour, no? My whole point of buying RZ was to just drift in right before the show starts, and not queue up all day.

Seems easy enough to sort out the tour info online prior to the show. If they can e-mail us to give us RZ information, they can just as easily draw tour winners from that same queue. Of course, a good chunk of RZ people in NYC won't even get info about the tour, since they are buying their RZ tickets on StubHub, etc.

  3. I can't sell my tickets through Ticketmaster either because it requires an U.S bank account, which I obviously don't have since I don't live in the U.S. Anyway, I've seen that many people are having similar problems with this paperless ticket, so I just want to know if there is any other way to sell/transfer/trade them.

If you can print them, you can just get the PDFs at that stage and sell them on StubHub or here, etc.

  4. Not sure that really adds up, or at least not in a clear way.  I see what you mean about the "best available thing", but--this pattern didn't happen w/the first 6 NYC shows, despite presumably identical TM algorithms, etc.  Unless, maybe, U2 management released some additional staging details to the venue (?)

It has been noted elsewhere that the pricing changed, though. So, some seats that were $315 in the early shows are $118 now, so that would affect the patterns.

  5. A couple of odd things I've noticed about some of the US ticket sales patterns.  In the 7th NYC show, the remaining available tix are heavily concentrated in two parallel (across the arena from each other) areas for no apparent reason

The reason is pretty simple, since it is based on Ticketmaster picking best available for users, and its algorithm deciding that those were not the best available $312 seats, probably because of an end stage-centric algorithm. The seats in between those two areas were sold at a cheaper price, so people selected those specifically to save money. So, when the system flips from picking seats for you to presenting you with a map to pick your own, what remains is the least desirable, most expensive seats.

I think the management just said to live nation just do your thing and we will show up.

If that were true, GA wouldn't be $70, though. Most performers charge the same as lower bowl or more for floor seats.

No one outside of the subscribers had a chance in hell of getting a GA ticket at any of the shows

I got two GA tickets to two different MSG shows in the public sale, in addition to the two GAs I got with my codes.

  7. For some reason, I totally scored on 7/30 and came up empty on 7/22, so I may as well see if anyone is up for some flippage.

Still waiting through the ticket delay until I can do the transfer, but if anyone is interested in the trade, lmk and we'll lock it in! Unless these are send as hard copies, in which case, I can ship them. Some of my MSG tickets were hard copies, some are PDFs, not sure which is which or why.

  8. Dynamic pricing is pretty common everywhere anymore. I go to a lot of Broadway shows, and sometimes if I buy early and the show becomes a hit, I paid $200 less than everyone around me. If I do the same and it ends up more of a flop, I could have paid $140 more than a lot of people around me. That doesn't mean I was smart in the first example, and stupid in the second one. Sometimes that can even happen over time at the same show.

The way to retain your sanity in these situations is once you buy your ticket, forget about it. The moment you bought the ticket, you accepted the value of the show in that amount. If you're going to future shows, you may learn how pricing has changed since your original purchase, but I usually just average them out in those cases. So, if you pay $120 one time, and $300 another, you are paying about $210 on average to see U2. Which is still worth it..

  9. Is it wrong to re-sell my tickets so I can spend a week at an orphanage instead of seeing the show?  WWBD?

Define resell. If you mean sell to another fan at face value, then that's fine. It you mean sell at 5X the face value on StubHub, I think you know which option Bono would prefer...

  10. These are GA but they are behind stage for some reason

Never heard of such a thing... sounds bogus. I've been to lots of U2 shows and lots of MSG shows, and never encountered any such thing at either.

MSG does have a way to divide a GA floor into two sections, but only when there is an end stage or some segregated area closer to the stage. Neither of which seem to be the case here.

  11. Just want to sort this out to temper any sort of excitement about the soon to be announced NYC dates... my u2.com renewal was just up, so I paid up for another year, and of course, my e-mail said I would get access to upcoming pre-sales. I realize that is the generic message they always send, but does that give me any sort of new code for any future tour dates, as well?! Like the as-yet-unannounced NYC dates?

Also, probably not the right place for this, but my only options were to get a vinyl record (despite not having a record player) or a copy of the same book from last year? Kind of pointless either way. Why not just a digital download of the concert rather than something I'll just have to pop on eBay since it is useless to me?

Anyway, thanks to everyone for not mentioning that both of these questions are probably already answered elsewhere. I appreciate your restraint. ;-)
