  1. just a question, if i have a eXPERIENCE  code to buy tickets can i call ticket master and ask for paper tickets mailed to me ??

Not if you're going to a venue where GA is paperless. If you're going to MSG, then yes, but you can do that online, too. Don't have to call... but if the venue is paperless, doesn't matter what you do, you're not getting paper tickets.

and is the two ticket limit for both nights or each night ??

Two tickets total per membership for this leg of the tour. So 2 tickets to one show, one ticket to two shows, etc.

  2. Wow.  Very helpful--thanks!!  I really appreciate the information and explanation--thanks for taking the time!  By the way, which shows are you going to?

I am not sure what nomenclature we are using yet, but I have three MSG tickets so far: Red Zone on the 18th, GA on the 19th, and GA on the 23rd. (Two single GAs during presale, one in the public sale, before anyone starts wondering how I got three, heh)

  3. Even with all the rules, regulations, etc to prevent scalpers....why is it OK then for resellers to sell GA tickets on TM resale for $1000-$2200 per ticket!!!! It's obvious people got these tickets are are selling them for a profit.

The rules are to prevent scalpers from getting the tickets. Once they get them, there are no rules... not to mention, we don't know how how many fewer tickets would have gotten to fans without all of the rules that were in place. If StubHub has 100 floor listings now, would they have had 500 without the rules?! We really have no context to say whether the rules worked or not.

  4.

Multiple browsers are OK, but not windows/tabs within the same one.

Jeff--by "multiple browsers" you mean two different ones? (e.g., Firefox and Safari).  So two windows within, say, Firefox could be problematic?  And if so, under what circumstances?  I tried for MSG tix in the general onsale, and using Firefox, had 4 tabs--one for each show.  I didn't get any errors or whatever (but on the other hand, didn't succeed, either).  Anyway, whatever specifics you know about this would be very helpful.  And how do you know this?

I've had problems with previous purchases for other shows where I tried using the same browser and multiple windows/tabs of that same browser. The problem is that Ticketmaster (I'm guessing here) uses cookies to track your session, so the expectation on their end is that you have one instance of Ticketmaster writing to one session cookie, but if you have 3 sessions and one cookie, it has problems.

I guess the example would be you get great GAs in Window One, and while you are doing that, other tickets are offered to you in Window Two that you don't want, so you let them time out or don't even know they are there, since you're busy in Window One, but then your cookie could be updated that your session timed out based on Window Two, and then when you get to the next checkout screen in Window One, you get a timeout error, since it thinks you let the timer run out (which, technically, you did), but since every instance of the browser is writing to one session cookie, there is no way for it to track multiple sessions as separate things.

Now, there is a possibility that you shepherd that one purchase through checkout before anything happens in the other screens to update the cookie... but it's a gamble.

I can't confirm my assessment of their technology is correct, only that I never got any of those errors again once I switched to multiple browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.). I wouldn't risk it.

Also, the other issue you're still potentially going to have is Ticketmaster sees all of these simultaneous requests coming from one IP address, so you might still cause it to think you are a bot or somesuch. So, if you try with too many browsers for too long, you could get kicked off the site for the next 24 hours, with no chance of getting back on from that location.

  5. Jeff--if you're an innocence member (now), you get a presale crack 3 hours before any folks buying the bundles do.

No, I was Experience, and already purchased two tickets, so I'm out of commission until the public sale...

  6. It is a bit upsetting to know that I'm queued up behind people who can wait to decide if they want to join once they see they can buy GA tickets. More fan club people getting seats since I scored in the first wave is totally fine, but I don't think we need to create more opportunities for scalpers before we get to try for more seats...

  7. The annoying bit to me is that tomorrow is the member pre-sale, which is fine, let some more fans get tickets... but then the next day are fan club bundles, which I believe is just people who still aren't u2.com members are able to get tickets early by joining u2.com at the same time as they see the seats they will get. So, try for GA, if you get them, sure I'll join u2.com?! And if you don't get great seats, you don't have to even join...

Now, if you aren't even interested in U2, and see what tickets are going for online... why wouldn't you try this just to flip them?! Especially for MSG, which will give you paper tickets.

I don't mind lining up behind fans who were shut out for more tickets, but the fan club bundles are a bit messed up.

  8. I don't think the same 2-day thing is happening this time. Just one presale for all subscribers.

There is no indication of anything about a second day presale on the new Ticketmaster pages.

  9. Floor seating for $86.05 is the only GA, except Red Zone.

Ticketmaster is just confused by a floor ticket that is less than lower bowl, since most bands charge most for floor lower bowl, and then the price gets lower and lower. So, I think floor being cheaper than two other options is confusing it.

  10. I just have a quick question - is there ANYTHING that ANYONE (including U2) can do about the legalized scalping on the Ticketmaster website?

I believe it is up to the artist whether or not to allow resale tickets on Ticketmaster. I imagine with a lot of paperless venues, you do have to allow that to some degree, though, since you can't sell a paperless ticket anywhere else. I am unclear whether U2 or anyone can set a cap on what people can charge to resell them, though.

If there were more paper tickets, then stopping Ticketmaster would just move more of the traffic to Stubhub and elsewhere.
