I almost hope they don't add any more NYC just for the sake of my own credit card... ;-)
-
Don't complain to Ticketmaster. They'll just raise the lower prices up to match... ;-)
-
Obviously, they should have a really new band open for them on Innocence dates, and a very seasoned band open for them on Experience... not sure a seasoned band would want to only play every 4 days, though.

Bought during the presale?
-
Just to let you know how the ticket general on sale went for New York City. No one I know got GA tickets during the general on-sale for any of the 6 New York City dates available.
Not today, but I was able to score one GA during the public sale to MSG last week. That doesn't negate your statement, though, since you don't know me ;-)

If you really want to see your favourite band thencamping out overnight was the way to go
This sitting in front of your PC or phone, buying tickets is what's killing music
Back in the day we never had touts/ scalpers
Yuck! No thanks...
Also, we already have paid line sitters in NYC: http://wecanwait4u.com
And there have always been scalpers. You just couldn't see them selling better tickets than you scored an hour later.

Well, I did buy two singles for each of the final shows, which will be amazing seats if there is an end stage where it usually is... so we shall see.

Many folks like utwothefly are (or may be) in this situation--illustrates what I've been saying about the need for more clarity!
I don't think anyone is disagreeing with you, but if no one here knows the answer... not much to say.

Didn't get any for the final two NY dates.
-
Came up empty in today's public sale for the two final dates.
-
Nope, not paperless. Can do whatever...
-
If you're the one buying the tickets to the show, and you're the one using them, there's really nothing to be confused about... since whatever is selected, and whatever the various options are, you will get into the venue and see U2 whether you have a hard ticket, printed page, credit card, or mobile phone in your hand when you enter the venue.

One time.

My Berlin code got used up right away, but for some reason folks to Stockholm could use their codes to buy a pair of ticketa to both shows. Even if you're able to use codes to get more tickets than allowed, I'd strongly advise not to... would'nt want your ticketa to get cancelled, wouls you?
Yeah, bigwave already has a thread warning people not to do this. Just because your order goes through doesn't mean your tickets won't be canceled for exceeding the limit on a future date.

Yes, there will be a certain number of GA tickets available for the Experience group and some more will be made available when the pre-sale starts for the Innocence group. But the second bunch of GA will be available for both Experience and Innocence users when they try with the presale on Thursday. Likewise, any tickets (not just GA) left when the exclusive period for Experience users end will also be made available for Innocence users.
I was trying to avoid that much nuance, given the original inquiry was that there wouldn't be any left, heh.

Ticketmaster isn't going to come up with an entirely new way to do this. They already have a transfer button, so you'll probably just have to do PayPal, and then transfer to that user on Ticketmaster. Otherwise, you're just creating a way to scalp tickets where Ticketmaster isn't getting a cut, which... they're not really concerned about making that happen.
-
The other issue is that you'd be setting people up for failure. It is hard enough to get any GA tickets, but do you really want people to think they will be able to get 4?! I'm guessing this family isn't looking to spend $1200 on lower bowl... So, all you'd be doing is selling more lottery tickets, which only results in more people losing out.
-
Legit ticket indeed but in most cases a crime none the less...
Not an actual crime, though.

I got caught up in the pre-sale frenzy and a few days after I bought tickets I realized I cannot go to the show. Any chance I can get a copy of this email so I can tell ticketmaster to re-sell my tickets? I really would like to get these tickets to somebody who would enjoy them. It'd be a shame for the tix to go to waste (getting my money back would be a plus)!
At some point, you should be able to transfer them. At which point, you could find a u2.com member you trust, have them paypal you and then transfer the tickets. Easy.
If they are GA for any dates of MSG/NYC, just message me! ;-)
Worst case, if you "sell" them on ticketmaster.com, you will have no trouble getting face value.
-
I'm also hoping that all the GA tix won't be taken by the experience group!
I'm having deja vu from last week. All of the GA for the experience group will be taken by the experience group. The GA held for the innocence group will be available to the innocence group. Whether experience got more (I think they should honestly) or the same is unknown, but it is not one pool of tickets, since many innocence members got GA last week after experience members were unable to...

Yeah, that's the big "but". You can never please everyone and people who get left out in the cold will always whine. I don't think that should stop a potentially awesome idea though.
I'm in NYC, so I'm once again primed for geo-targeted benefits, so I'm fine with it... ;-)
-
Maybe, rather than only for 10 years sub, the concert could be reserved for 5 years sub (I'm a 10 years sub
).
This is starting to read like a BDSM message board. Is Bono our dom?!
-
Sadly, the amount of joy for those inside the show would be dwarfed by the cries of unfair from everyone else... most of which would likely be that a lot of these cases typically geo-target members. Like, back when Counting Crows had a paid membership (which they abandoned after a few years), I lived in San Francisco and the band was in San Francisco, so all of the surprise things were, you guessed it, in San Francisco. So, I kept going to all of these free online concerts for Yahoo and such, and the band would just hang out with the audience after the show, etc.
But you can imagine the message boards from the non-CA members. I stopped even admitting when I won/attended things publicly, heh.
So, on one hand, it would be cool to open it up. But it's also a bit crazy to pick a user in Tokyo and say, Congratulations, you can go see a free U2 concert in NYC next week. Click here to confirm your attendance, or click here to say you can't make it. ;-)

I had Safari, Firefox, and Chrome on one computer; Safari and Firefox on my laptop; and the Ticketmaster app on iPhone. They all came up with tickets at some point. Just not the GAs they were supposed to be finding...
I don't think the issue is on the client side of the equation, as far as getting tickets. ;-)
Has anyone been able to purchase RZ tix during the general public sale?

It said that on the map, but on the screen before it, it had them at $300+ like everywhere else.
