  1. If you really want to see your favourite band thencamping out overnight was the way to go

This sitting in front of your PC or phone, buying tickets is what's killing music

Back in the day we never had touts/ scalpers

    Yuck! No thanks...

Also, we already have paid line sitters in NYC: http://wecanwait4u.com

And there have always been scalpers. You just couldn't see them selling better tickets than you scored an hour later.

  2. If you're the one buying the tickets to the show, and you're the one using them, there's really nothing to be confused about... since whatever is selected, and whatever the various options are, you will get into the venue and see U2 whether you have a hard ticket, printed page, credit card, or mobile phone in your hand when you enter the venue.

  3. My Berlin code got used up right away, but for some reason folks to Stockholm could use their codes to buy a pair of ticketa to both shows. Even if you're able to use codes to get more tickets than allowed, I'd strongly advise not to... would'nt want your ticketa to get cancelled, wouls you?

Yeah, bigwave already has a thread warning people not to do this. Just because your order goes through doesn't mean your tickets won't be canceled for exceeding the limit on a future date.

  4. Yes, there will be a certain number of GA tickets available for the Experience group and some more will be made available when the pre-sale starts for the Innocence group. But the second bunch of GA will be available for both Experience and Innocence users when they try with the presale on Thursday. Likewise, any tickets (not just GA) left when the exclusive period for Experience users end will also be made available for Innocence users.

I was trying to avoid that much nuance, given the original inquiry was that there wouldn't be any left, heh.

  5. I got caught up in the pre-sale frenzy and a few days after I bought tickets I realized I cannot go to the show. Any chance I can get a copy of this email so I can tell ticketmaster to re-sell my tickets? I really would like to get these tickets to somebody who would enjoy them. It'd be a shame for the tix to go to waste (getting my money back would be a plus)!

At some point, you should be able to transfer them. At which point, you could find a u2.com member you trust, have them paypal you and then transfer the tickets. Easy.

If they are GA for any dates of MSG/NYC, just message me! ;-)

Worst case, if you "sell" them on ticketmaster.com, you will have no trouble getting face value.

  6. I'm also hoping that all the GA tix won't be taken by the experience group!

I'm having deja vu from last week. All of the GA for the experience group will be taken by the experience group. The GA held for the innocence group will be available to the innocence group. Whether experience got more (I think they should honestly) or the same is unknown, but it is not one pool of tickets, since many innocence members got GA last week after experience members were unable to...

  7. Sadly, the amount of joy for those inside the show would be dwarfed by the cries of unfair from everyone else... most of which would likely be that a lot of these cases typically geo-target members. Like, back when Counting Crows had a paid membership (which they abandoned after a few years), I lived in San Francisco and the band was in San Francisco, so all of the surprise things were, you guessed it, in San Francisco. So, I kept going to all of these free online concerts for Yahoo and such, and the band would just hang out with the audience after the show, etc.

But you can imagine the message boards from the non-CA members. I stopped even admitting when I won/attended things publicly, heh.

So, on one hand, it would be cool to open it up. But it's also a bit crazy to pick a user in Tokyo and say, Congratulations, you can go see a free U2 concert in NYC next week. Click here to confirm your attendance, or click here to say you can't make it. ;-)
