  1. I'm recalling this showing up for previous shows I've attended, but then closer to the date, you can print them, too. Otherwise, people who accidentally clicked this assuming it was the usual print-at-home are required to have an expensive phone to attend, which is unlikely.

  2. I'm fine with that, since it is nearly impossible to fathom anyone saying they need 4 GAs and getting them to come up. 1 and 2 are hard enough to pull out of the small pool available. So, 4 people in the lower bowl? Have at it... when it comes to high-demand concerts, I go alone or with ONE other person for that very reason. The bigger the ticket quantity, the worse the seats. Always.

  3. I think the people in RZ are more chill about guarding their place, since it is mainly going to be people who want to just drift in at show time and not queue up.

If you want to get there ASAP and seize the rail, have at it. Fine by me. I'll still be home when you're doing that. ;-)

  4. That's some weird Ticketmaster thing, nothing to worry about. Floor is only $86. I think Ticketbastard just can't conceive of floor seats where there are still more expensive tickets elsewhere, so it just ticks the two prices above it as well. I selected the same thing, saw the same thing, and it brought up the cheaper GA tickets last week...

Of course, if it can't find GA tickets you may be offered higher priced tickets instead, but that isn't related to your query. Just the usual thing of them offering you other tickets.

  5. Oops, looks like Ticketmaster finally put information on those presale countdown pages that wasn't (and still isn't) on the previous Onsale Times info:

"Have a U2.com subscription? Great! Here are the times you can purchase tickets. Wed. 12/10 10AM - eXPERIENCE GROUP. Thurs, 12/11 12PM – iNNOCENCE GROUP"

  6. So I had a pre-sale code...which by the way haaardly worked because the first group got the majority of the good venues' GAs (and please don't say they were split fairly cos they were not!)...

I wish I could believe that there are GAs left for the general sale but as it proved in the first general sale there were hardly any AND they were snatched up by scalpers.

And then let's not mention the price of the tickets. You really are hurting the fans.

How do we know what the split was for GAs across different presales?! And, if experience did get more, well... they were the paying members who could have been paying for years on end for u2.com memberships. I know, personally, I paid to be a u2.com member in 2012, 2013, and 2014, and never got to see a concert in any of those years, so there is $120. So, I think it is valid to give all existing members access to more tickets ahead of people who only joined when a new album was released and a tour was rumored.

I got a GA for NYC in the general sale. Again, not sure we know how many were sold, to whom, and what they are doing with them...

U2's prices are as reasonable as one could expect. Lower ticket prices do not reward more fans, they bring out more scalpers. If you lower the amount of money scalpers have to invest, you get more of them, since they can double or triple their money, whereas a $300 is unlikely to triple unless it is very close to the stage. You do need to look at other tours to see how fair U2 is. For the Rolling Stones, the GA area near the stage was $1600 if I recall properly, and at least $500 to be on the floor, and this was with an end stage. Compared to many other top acts, U2 is actually cheaper. Bette Midler sold out Madison Square Garden in June with many of the tickets costing $350, including $1250 meet and greet tickets, $500+ VIP tickets. For one of the biggest bands in the world, they could certainly charge more and still sell out venues, but they don't. The cheapest tickets at a U2 show are often the best ones surrounding the stage, and you'd have to look pretty hard to find another band that does that.

  7. I agree.... but....

Just thought of something else too, those 300$ tix are NOT selling that well (too many sections are 300$) so maybe they figure scalpers will want them/get stuck with a lot of them, so why give more pre-sale chances to reg. fans when scalpers will grab the most expensive tix that most reg. fans don't buy... who knows... one of those Corporate Dark Plans :P

I think that is a bit too far-fetched. Most shows are nearly sold out, so I'm not sure how that constitutes not selling that well. Only for U2 does not selling out in minutes/hours mean there is little demand. Most concerts fill up slow over long periods of time....

  8. So if you renew early you don't qualify for a new pre sale code?

Would you be issued with a new code on your actual renewal date?

    Or

If you wait till your 'official' renewal date you would qualify for a  new pre sale code?

I'm sure most would want some kind of official guidance if U2 are doing a Stadium tour in 2017.

We would hate to miss out on a code due to some administrative black hole

If you're in good standing when a presale is announced, you get a code. Renew now, renew later, as long as your account remains in good standing, you're good to go.

If another leg of the tour is announced, everyone will get a new code for new presales. It has nothing to do with when or whether you renew.

  9. Hi passenger789, have you ever had your prior tix mailed to you by UPS 2-day service?  Or know anyone who has?  I am wondering when they are mailed out?  2 days since date of purchase or____?  I have not received mine yet and I paid for UPS 2 day service.  Any thoughts are ideas?  I already emailed Ticketmaster.  My confirmation email did not provide the UPS tracking #!!!  I am going crazy here.  Any input?  Thanks.

I don't think the speed of delivery you choose affects how quickly they will be printed/shipped. That has always been on its own timeframe. So, whenever the ticket would normally get printed, you'll get it two days later. But whenever they print it is still up to them...
