  1.

I snagged Homewood Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile.

my friend just got the same for us!  Woohoo!

Kept it simple, clean, cheap, and didn't mess with the formula: reserved a room at Holiday Inn Express Cicero. Same digs as 360 Tour Sep 2009.

if my daughter convinces me to try for tickets on Monday and I go back I'll probably go that route.   It's friends birthday while we are there and we're throwing in some sight seeing as well ;)   If daughter and I go- that will be just for the concert.   Concert, sleep, home!

  2. Can't get into pre-sale today for Innocence - Chicago - after 10:00a m cst and says my password is incorrect....copied it straight from U2.com site.....what the hell!!!!  Somebody please help me what to do.....

wait till Noon EST (@30 minutes from now) when tickets go on sale.    Innocence is NOON EST, not 10am local.

  3. this is what i get...

We're sorry, there are no more tickets available for this promotion.

same thing that many of us got in the last presale.   Try again- it took over an hour for some people, myself included last Thursday.  Or try the phone app.

Also are there two lines/areas to enter the code, one for experience and one for innocence?   Make sure using the correct line.

  4. Thanks for the feedback, I was thinking that may be the case with taxi after (would be here in CLE and in DET, where I grew up).  I think I'll likely drive in then,  I don't mind driving and routinely go north of Detroit (where family are and I grew up) so the drive shouldn't be too bad (except maybe once in Chi town!!). Now to figure out a hotel.

  5. I'll likely be driving in from CLE (although if a great flight opens up I may snag it). Friend is coming in from MN. Any thoughts for hotels?

Embassy Suites has been mentioned. Any others? We want to reserve room soon but aren't sure where to look.

If we both fly in easy to get taxi back? (I figure there will not be hard).

I'm really not a complaining type, but with 2 more shows added in my city Montreal, being a paid member has NOT given me another chance to use my previously used pre-sale code for these new shows..... a total of 2 pre-sale tickets allowed for 4 shows?!?! That's a half ticket per show :( (yes I'm being sarcastic)... C'mon U2 Guys, you can do better than that?!?!

What do other members think, c'mon people, Viva la Revolutionne!! ;)

There are still people who haven't used their pre-sale code yet.... They should be able to get to go first...
    ^^ agree.

As much as I'd love to get another code for this leg, I'd like others to be able to have a chance to get the tickets they want as well.

  7. I got great seats for the 24th show for a friend and I (I'm coming from CLE and her from MN). My daughter is trying to convince me to take her if I can grab tickets during general sale to the new ones. If I can get GA for the 29th I'm contemplating driving there and back twice.

  8. There is absolutely no doubt that more shows are coming to Boston,NYC and Chicago.  Its not IF, its When.  I REAALLLLLY hope that they will be conducting a pre-sale for unused codes..July 24th and 25th is screaming NYC.  Anymore than an additional 2 shows may be pushing it for this leg inmo.  If they wanna come back a year later for a stadium tour they gotta be careful and keep demand high.  I'll also be surprised if they announce second level markets this leg...ie" Detroit, St Louis, Kansas city, etc, etc.  Its a science squeezing what they can outta these tours.

my  daughter is hoping on a Detroit (likely Auburn Hills the Palace)- she lost to my friend for presale tickets to Chicago and we need to be in driving distance for me to take her :)

I would be let down as a fan to know there was a big difference between two nights as one of them is going to seem better than the other to many people no matter.

It is still U2 playing both nights, how bad can it be?! People can always find something to complain about if they try hard enough. It used to be what acoustic song Bono and Edge played on different nights, etc.

I can't imagine they are going to rehearse the whole catalog and just go on the fly like Springsteen, though, seeing that U2 tend to put on more of a show than he does as far as multimedia, moving stages, and other things. So, if there are lighting, video, and other elements linked to certain songs, in certain orders, you lose some ability to just make it up as you go.

    agree

My feel, or at least what I tell myself, is based on Edge's comment that each will still be "a U2 concert" is that there will be a different tone/feel/storyline to the songs and maybe set order, but that 80-90% of the songs will be the same each night.  They will still rock out and have an acoustic/slower section but may change up the snippets and lyrics here and there.

would expect they will add an additional 3 nights to Chicago.

The NHL may throw a monkey wrench into that though. Playoffs could go through late June and Hawks will be in contention for playoffs- maybe not finals- they may have to wait till playoff picture is better before United will open up days?

They go through mid June. The first show isn't until the end of June. They are fine.

should be--- although the Hawks had games (if needed) scheduled to June 26th in 2013, I remember a co-worker had a meeting that would fall over that date in Chicago and was hoping to be in a bar :)   Last year it did end on the 13th though, all depends on how quickly each series is wrapped up I guess.    They might not add them to the 26th and 27th, but maybe 28th and 29th, should definitely be safe there.
