There's a neverever released live version they did on rehearsals before the first ZOO TV show in Lakeland Florida...One of the tour producers recalls it was out of this world ! But Bono was damaged !

I think you're right, it's all the bashers expectations, I really don't think it would have done them any damage not to apologise. If any potential new fans have been alienated then an apology isn't going to change that

To be honest, I don't really believe they are sorry, I'm sure they think all the fuss is as ridiculous as we do. I'm sure they were just looking after the wider public image, they didn't have to allow that question at all, but they did. Ever generous even to those that don't deserve it
