  1. Just a Shout Out Bigwave, haven't been in here pretty much since Experience (those Vegas rumours pulled me back-in loll), glad to see you're still a Mod doing a Great Job! Cheers!!

  2. Hey Manohlive, my pleasure It always astonishes me how much people bitch & complain without doing it directly to the source of the problem. And you are correct, it can be surprising how often this feedback actually works. I just added the Facebook suggestion too, should have mentionned it before, as it is probably now the most direct & effecient way of doing it in today's social media driven PR And yeah, Larry got involved in the Vertigo tour pre-sale debacle, but I think the letter he wrote was to let us know that the band had forced Ticketmaster to re-boot the 1st pre-sale, to categorize the fan club members depending on the length of membership. If I recall correctly, the fan club/U2.com had just changed to a new platform right before the pre-sale & there were no longer different membership categories, longterm, medium term, short term etc. So after his involvement, the original Propaganda members got best category, then the rest of us were split in 2 other categories, long term post-Propaganda & shorter term or recently paid members. I don't remember getting xtra pre-sale tix or chances at pre-sales tix. Anyways, that's how I remember it, but I could be wrong on some of the details Cheers!!
  3. Good article & advice for people still hoping to bag tix .... + I would add that on many occasions I have bagged tickets at below cost a few days prior to the concert (just take a look at some of those resale prices, don't worry, those asking prices will be waaaayyyy down by show time) You heard it here 1st http://www.atu2.com/news/i-didnt-get-u2-tickets-what-now.html
  4. Hello All, just a semi-commentary. Yes Ticketmaster really really sucks. Yes Ticketmaster is owned by Live Nation. Yes, Ticketmaster's selling of tickets process is often times very poor & frustrating. As the Forum Moderators have done (these brave folks have the patience of Angels ), in several posts re. the JTT ticket purchase issues, see below some links to write or call with your displeasure to Ticketmaster directly. And of course, probably the best, most visible & quickest way to let Ticketmaster &/or Live Nation know your displeasure is to comment directly on their Facebook page.... nothing strikes more fear in a Corporate entity like trashing them for all to see on Facebook! I would be curious to know how many people actually write or call directly to Ticketmaster, the source of the many ticket purchase problems, as opposed to just vehemently complaining on these forums while trashing the band for this state of affairs. Every tour it is the same thing/problem, so get out your best writing & diplomatic conversation skills people! Cheers!! http://www.ticketmaster.com/h/customer-service.html?tm_link=help_nav_4_contact https://help.ticketmaster.co.uk/how-do-i-contact-customer-services/ http://www.ticketmaster.com/international?tm_link=tm_homeA_changeloc_intl
  5. Did you not verify where the seats were on the venue map before you bought them?? .... it is clear where those seats are located in relation to the stage.
  6. I just tried for Pasadena, just for the hell of it, got GA no problem, used the mobile app.....
  7. If what you say is accurate...they shouldn't love the Big O these days. In the 80's, the Big O didn't have a roof on it, so it might have been OK. The sonics are so bad now at the Olympic Stadium that you can't even understand what's being said over a PA system. The sound at Popmart was horrendous, whereas the sound at 360 (outside) was fantastic, and the sound at the Bell Centre is passable. Hey Counting, I'll give you that, the Big Owe sound is pretty crappy.... I saw them there for JT'87 + I saw them there for Zoo TV, if I recall the sound was ok'ish for a cavernous place even for Zoo, like all shows there it depends were you are seating. Although I can't confirm, I'm thinking most closed roof stadiums built in the 70's or 80's would all be bad for concert sound, maybe even all of them. Wonder what Skydome sounds like... do they open the roof for concerts when it is not raining? I saw POP Mart at BC Place (was living in Vancouver at the time), the roof there at that time was just a light canvas held up by air pressure, (not like the Big O's roof which is steel/concrete to the middle o-ring of the kevlar tarp), and the sound there was also ok'ish probably cause I was on the floor not too far from the stage. Lots of shows/other artists have still been done at the Big O after POP Mart, I have'nt seen a show there since some Canada Day celebration MTL & Toronto Symphanies played there in like '94-'95 (again ok'ish sound for concrete cavern). I've read that the last couple of shows there were not as bad 'cause of tech advances in concert sound design & they actually put huge sound absortion curtains etc to try & muffle some of the echo.... AC/DC played there a couple of times '09 + '15, I did'nt go. Anyways, maybe you're right, maybe U2 &/or Evenko just don't want to do a U2 show there... good enough for AC/DC's sound (and One Direction lolll) but not U2 And yeah 360 sound outside at Hyppodrome was awesome, people could hear the sound clearly for miles!!
  8. U2 don't hate Montreal's Olympic Stadium, in fact it is well known that it is at that stadium that U2 realised they are good enough to do stadiums, back in the '80's. They have done Joshua Tree 87, Zoo TV and POP Mart at that stadium. The reason they did not go to the stadium in 2011 was mainly the size of the 360 Claw-stage, specifically the center spire that would not fit in the now roof covered stadium. They were other technical issues as well, but it was mostly the spire not fitting under the stadium roof, it was too complicated from an engineering standpoint to lower the spire by shortening the legs of the claw. They could easily play the Olympic Stadium for JTT 2017.
  9. I get HBO On Demand free also for 30 days. This worked out perfect cause we have HBO until January 6th. I believe if you pay for HBO you get On Demand and HBO Go, and whatever else they have included in the price. Ah, Good on 'ya Surrenders .... you don't have a dvr?? would make a great Xmas gift from one of your family/friends... hint hint... & that gives you time to record the concert in glorious HD colour by Jan. 6th!! Merry Xmas & Happy New Year my friend
  10. Thx Max.... but I'm good w HBO Canada, I recorded it anyway on my dvr in glorious hd colour ... still want more wide shots though loll ... hopefully the IE concert DVD will be better, I mean just camera views/angles wise... not a big fan of lots of close ups of the Boyz as opposed to nice wide shots of the lighting/screen/crowds for a concert dvd.
  11. Hey Surrender, you mean you can't see it on regular HBO (you got a free month right?) before the 22nd unless you do it "on demand" ? You pay xtra/on demand fee for that??
  12. Hey Phill, just wondering if you saw that Stereophonics concert in a smaller venue than an arena? (U2 in arenas)..... I ask 'cause I have done GA for U2 on 3 tours & seen them in seats as well for those same shows (not good seats but not bad either) (I have done all tours since '83) and I can tell you there is a world of difference between when you are close up to the band, or in mid to far seats... I agree that this tour the atmosphere is more laid back, especially the 1st half of the show because of the order & choice of songs, re. type of songs on SOI etc...... maybe those points have a lot to do with why you feel about them in concert last little while. Anyways, I think w. the Songs of Experience album & tour it will be quite different, more intense/rock/closer to the older U2 type shows... then again I could be wrong
  13. Max, is it streamed on HBO for weeks? HBO Canada schedule, should be same/similar for US: U2: Innocence + Experience Live In Paris U2's first HBO concert special, featuring the band on their latest Innocence and Experience tour. Length: 149 min Genre: Music Year: 2015 Schedule Tuesday Dec. 8 3:11AM ET / MT Friday Dec. 11 12:45PM ET / MT Saturday Dec. 12 12:50AM ET / MT Saturday Dec. 19 7:10AM ET / MT Thursday Dec. 24 8:55AM ET / MT
  14. Max, is it streamed on HBO for weeks? at the very least it will be available during December... At HBO Canada it is on 5-6 times in December (I'm in Montreal)... for some reason can't find the schedule for it on HBO US, but can for Canada... should be very similar as far as upcoming re-broadcasts.
