  1. Sorry to keep quoting and posting but you might even get a better seat. The shows are a long ways away. I would stay calm and see what happens. If your ticket does not say limited view and you get to the venue and it is a limited view they will relocate you and many times people end up with better seats. They always have house seats for such things. I would not worry at all.
  2. Where are they? Oh, and I think AmieHark is right--but it was easy to miss that at the time. But, that could have been different at different The United Center has excellent customer service. If you are polite and patient you will get the best help.
  3. Does your ticket say limited view? If not, raise the issue. Often times my tix have been limited view and they were actually beautiful seats. But if your ticket does not say limited view then you view should not be limited. They cannot do that.
  4. No business of mine but I think you would be able to sell that seat at face value without going lower unless it's no big deal. It's quite a while until the show.
  5. I am thinking there is a very good chance we will be given another code if they do a stadium leg. Am I the only one? If all else fails so for a single ticket. I do it all the time and get right up front most of the time for many sold out shows. Yeah, you are sitting alone but once the show starts it's all good.
  6. I have dealt with disability and mobility issues for 30 years. I've gotten very good at this. I think you are in London? I'm in the United States. Here, by law, they have to accommodate anyone with these issues. I got mobility seats for most shows in Chicago but am gonna try GA for one show. It is a crap shoot but if I try and if it's not possible I will get a relocate. They know me now. I do not consider myself entitled. It has gotten so much better than it was even five years ago. I would: get a letter from your doctor with official letterhead stating you have a bad back or whatever and how that might affect your ability to see the show. Call the box office and ask generic questions feeling out the situation but not giving them your name unless they offer immediate help, but ask whatever questions you need to ask. Most likely it will end up that if you are in good shape the day of the show then great but if not you will get a relocate. You probably know that. My point: before the show talk to whomever is in charge of disabled/mobility and let them know your name BEFORE the show in case you need it. The day of the show is so crazy and many people here try to fake it when they see they do not like their seats. Sad and pathetic. If you've already called and spoken with disability person in box office then you will get a much better response. Hope this helps and is not a bunch of hot air. I want to do GA just once and be up front and feel that bombastic booming in my chest. I hope you are able to do the same.
  7. Perhaps I am mistaken. Are you saying that you purposely did not renew your subscription and now renewed because you thought they might be touring? If so, why should you go back to the front of the line? If not, pardon my mistake. I've been a member since Propoganda and paid every year. If I heard someone purposely let their membership lapse and then rejoined when they felt it was time to see them again; I would be very irritated. If you purposely do not subscribe then you should go to the end of the line just like everybody else. Again, if I am mistaken my apologies. If not, I think you sound rather ridiculous. You cannot just join because you think they might tour and expect to go to the front of the line just because they might tour and it's advantageous to rejoin because you will get a code. Again, if mistaken, I apologize.
  8. This is what I know about Chicago: sections 108 and 119 are where the disabled seats for lower level are located. Seats in section 108 were $275 and seats in section 119 were $95. The guy who sold me these seats has been doing it for a long time. He's never been wrong with information he has given me. I'm not saying quote him but they would not charge disabled people $275 to be on the lesser side of the venue when those on the other side only paid $95. LMAO This is soooooo much fun!!! Two weeks ago I did not even know they were gonna tour. I thought it would be at least another year. Now I am worrying about where my seats are. In any event, I have seats in section 108 for one night and 119 for another so I'm set no matter. I also have GAs for one night and am praying I can physically do it because I have wanted to do GAs for U2 forever. I got a fractured skull trying with the Foo Fighters but I am fine. It was 110 degrees so I was a fool but I really wanted to see the Foo Fighters. I somewhat remember Everlong but nobody sang there goes my hero as I was escorted out! haha Perhaps it changes with each venue? Couldn't they have the same setup but reverse it according to the individual venues? It's a good thing I'm going to see The Head and the Heart in Chicago this weekend so I can forget about all of this!!! I sure hope I can do GAs. I can manage standing for the show but being in line all day is gonna be tough. I used my code for GAs. Here's praying it works! This is so exciting!!!!!!!
  9. My posts above were too long. I'm disabled and I do not think I should get an extra ticket for my caregiver. I got two seats just like everyone else. Also, disabled people can call most box offices and they put seats aside for them before most shows go on sale. There's no need for a disabled person to get any more tickets than any other fan club member. My issue is I want to do GA and am trying to do GA one of the shows in Chicago. How do I do that? That is a much more pertinent issue than an extra ticket. This thread seems futile.
  10. I do not think that is logistically possible or am I in the dark of some new technology? It takes a lot to film a dvd. I hope this time that the camera stays put on one shot for more than 3-5 seconds.
  11. I do not recall a time when Edge was not on the left side of the stage and Adam was on the right side of the stage when facing the stage. stage right and left changes from America to Europe so if facing the stage-I believe Edge is always on the left and Adam on the right. I could be wrong but it's been that way every time I've seen them which is a number of times but not nearly enough!
  12. They send reminder emails too. I think it's fair to reward those that don't let their subscriptions expire. Otherwise what's gonna stop people from paying subscription once every 5 years when U2 goes on tour? That said, shit sometimes happens and they could put up a policy to allow one month grace period after expiry to give time to get the seniority reinstated. I always have gotten a reminder email as well. Unfortunately too many people abuse the system. I didn't even realize I'd get in on presales when I joined but that was before the Popmart tour. I wanted that Propoganda booklet. It was before the internet and U2 had cool graphics way back when as well. '
  13. I just spoke with the box office at the United Center in Chicago and he said that the main stage is where the red zone is located. So it seems the main stage is down by section 108, etc at the United Center. That is why tickets in section 119 were only $95, I was told. So the red zone is next to the main stage. I've spoken with three people at the box office.
  14. I'll be there. Can it be in Palma de Mallorca and have a flight from Chicago included????

  16. I hate this too but there are some advantages if it has to be: -you know for sure that your ticket is a legit ticket and not that you will get to the venue only to find out you bought a counterfeit ticket -supposedly they are trying to stop outside ticketing agencies from getting more tickets and inflating the prices even more -if you buy from them you have certain rights which you do not if you buy from a scalper or other resale agencies I know a lot of people are showing up with counterfeit tickets for which they paid hundreds of dollars over face value and they are out of luck. The venue cannot nor will do anything for these people. With this the tickets are guaranteed to be real but that is the only bonus I see to this and I hate ticketmaster scalping tickets which they say they are not doing but I think they are doing. How to stop scalping.....
  17. I remember people selling red zone tickets for less than they paid for them the last tour. This was right before the show not very far out but I distinctly remember it because it sure looked like a great place to be for the show. I was very happy with my seat but the red zone looked great.
  18. The United Center did get the map for the Vertigo tour turned around. Every show I've seen at the United Center has the stage on the end with sections 120 and 113 being the best sections if not on the floor.
  19. I arranged tickets for someone who is disabled earlier today and he told me that section 108, which was highest ticket price, was closest to the stage. He told me that section 119, which was $95, was on the opposite end of the main stage. I'm not claiming to know with any certainty but this is what the box office is saying so we've conflicting information. Hmm--well, that's confusing, to be sure! And you're right, none of us really know at this point. But, if I'm right, it makes some sense that section 119 is cheap, because that would be (almost) behind the main stage. And section 108 wasn't the only section w/top price tix--tons of the lower bowl (and even some of the upper bowl) was top price--except for a lesser price for what looks to be tix behind the main stage. But again, we don't really know for sure, obviously. To add more to this mix: I was told 119 was not really behind, rather; more to the side of the stage. These were disabled seats so I doubt they'd do that but it sure is confusing.
  20. I wish I had taken time to calm down before I posted my feelings about all of this. Lesson learned. Take a deep breath..... Sorry. I'm not the jerk I sound like above. I feel how I feel but how I expressed this leaves a lot to be desired.
  21. I don't think the speed of delivery you choose affects how quickly they will be printed/shipped. That has always been on its own timeframe. So, whenever the ticket would normally get printed, you'll get it two days later. But whenever they print it is still up to them... It's been my experience that they tend to send tickets out closer to the show for really popular tours. Of course there are exceptions but the 2 day service seems a bit of a rip-off when it's two days after everyone else get their tickets sent to them.
  22. May I ask how much red zone tickets for shows in the United States cost? I could not see and am curious. I tried to find out on my own but cannot find a venue that lists the price. I must be looking in the wrong place. The red zone in Chicago for the 360 tour seemed to have a lot of space for people.
  23. it is definitely confusing. Maybe they are gonna play smack dab in the middle of the venue on a circle which is slowly spinning! lol mike7man described it much more accurately than I did.
  24. Quoting dragonfaerie_mychezney saying above: Having said that being a fan should not be limited by a disability either and perhaps there could be a similar accommodation for an extra ticket for a disabled fan who requires assistance. A fan requiring a caregiver should not be limited to two tickets but rather should be able to attend with their spouse or chosen companion plus the caregiver. I am disabled and I was able to bring my caregiver to the show: it's the person who bought the other ticket. I see no way around this as there are so many who want seats or GAs and are not getting them. I think the real issue with disabled people is with general admission. There are NO accommodations for disabled people on the GA floor of these venues. This forced me to have to pay for a very expensive seat. I did get GAs in the presale and am going with my brother but if I am in bad shape on that day, I have no idea what I am going to do as far as lining up so I can be up front, etc. If I am in a seat and the people in front of me stand then I look at their backs and hear muffled sound. I do not feel sorry for myself, quite the opposite. I have been working with different venues by giving them my input about how they accommodate or do not take care of disabled people. It doesn't seem fair that I would be admitted to the GA line before all those who lined up and waited for all that time to get a good place to see the show, but it's also not fair that someone with legit disabilities cannot do the GA tickets and have to pay for expensive seats. Most disabled people are on limited budgets. This tour is different. It's indoors and has so many less seats available. Its a complicated issue. What makes it worse is that so many people abuse the disabled accommodations and ruin it for those who are truly disabled. By law the venue cannot ask for proof that a person is disabled and a lot of people are now calling box offices and saying they have mobility issues or even faking it and showing up in unnecessary wheel chairs so they get good seats. It's a very complicated situation. It got much better for a while but then those who fake being sick caught wind of it and now it's a big mess again. I always bring numerous letters from multiple doctors. When I ask if they need to see them they tell me they cannot even ask. The only thing they are allowed to ask is if the person is in a wheelchair or mobility impaired as this affects how they seat disabled people. I have a letter, from a leading pain specialist, saying my pain level is the equivalent of having one's appendix taken out without any anesthesia, It does not matter. They cannot look and decide how to place disabled people according to their needs. It's wheel chair or not? Very complicated issue and no easy answers. I cannot see the show if I have to sit down. Does this mean I should get the front row of sections? That does not seem fair either. If I am able to do so I want to do GA for U2 more than I can express. If I am in really bad shape that day I may have to skip the show I have GA tickets for which is not fair either. No easy answers. Again-I am not looking for sympathy but this is an issue for every show I attend and so, so many others have it even worse.
  25. Are children of fans true fans? What makes a true fan? Many are upset, including myself, that we only got two tickets for the presale. I think bringing children into the mix would make it impossible for all of the adults who want to get tickets to be able to do so. How many children would actually want to see U2, leave alone care about where their seats were located? Do kids belong at concerts? Should a person's children attending a concert even enter the mix? I'm just asking these questions. I'm not criticizing. But: We have a lot of adults wanting seats or GAs and not getting them. If all the adults who want seats are able to get seats then maybe children, but not until all of the adults who want seats are seated. My own personal opinion is that a rock concert is not a proper place for children unless they are 16 or so in which case they should pay for memberships and get codes like the rest of us. Disney on Ice is better for children. There are plenty of shows for children. Soon we'd have strollers and that's an accident waiting to happen. Children and rock concerts do not mix well. I'd be irritated if I paid for a show and had to deal with someone's child misbehaving.
