  1. We were told they'd open at 6:00 but they actually opened just at 6:13.
  2. I was just talking to Guy Oseary and he said his favorite spot was in the middle of the catwalk.
  3. Update: (spoilers) security is saying you ARE allowed to move between the north and south sides now before the show, but apparently the band will either the stage and exit the stage at the outer tip of the Experience stage. There is also some staging device under the e stage.
  4. So we have our spots on the rail close to the Experience stage. Not sure if we chose wisely or not. We'll have to see. The scan in process was very stressful for us. First the sectioned off the first 159 ga people, who the further split us into 8 rows, since the venue had 8 ga doors. They opened the doors 15 min late at 6:15. All 8 rows started scanning in at the same time. The problem occurred when the row beside ours had a broken scanner. That meant two rows at once had to scan in with our scanner, which really slowed us down. Very frustrating. But once we scanned in and got our ticket receipt, we got either a blue North wrist band or a South yellow wristband depending on what our stub said. Then it was a brisk walk to either the North or South floor entrance.
  5. The lineup for show #2 is starting across the street from Rogers Arena.
  6. I'd go along with all the above but add to the songs I'd love to hear: I threw a brick, An CatDubh/Into the heart, So Cruel, Red Hill Mining Town, Hawkmoon269. These are all brilliant requests, particularly An Cat Dubh/Into The Heart. "Into the heart... of a child" would go very well with the Innocence theme. I Threw A Brick, not so much, but it's still one of my favorite songs.
  7. I've seen the band 10 times, and I've yet to hear my favorite song: 40. I'm just dying to hear it live, but I'm not holding my breath as I'm seeing the first two shows in Vancouver. I expect the boys to go with a new show closer from the new album, at least for one of the two shows, instead of tried and true 40. I'm thinking they'll close with Sleep Like A Baby Tonight. But I hope to see them again on the next go round for NA, where maybe, just maybe, I'll finally get to see 40. Then I can die a happy man.
  8. Of course we all would love to see only U2 for 2.5 hours, or 3 hours, or 4 hours (like The Boss), but it will never happen. U2 has always been about promoting a variety of musical tastes (one of the reasons I love them so), and have often gone out of their way to mix it up. It just kills me that I missed Rage Against the Machine by two shows on Popmart. I also would have loved to see Public Enemy on ZooTV, or Jay Z on 360. But I do consider myself very lucky to have seen Pixies, PJ Harvey, and Muse open for them. My point is, the band tend to want to expose their audience to new sounds that aren't always typical of the "U2 sound". Japandroids in Vancouver would be awesome. Also Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. And if The Dalton Brothers made another appearance, I think I might actually crap my pants.
  9. RE: floor setup: Looking at Vancouver's map (below), you see a very clear north and south floor section divide for the GA tickets. (North and South of the River, anyone?) Also, my GA ticket says "Section N-FLR", which to me says I must stand on that side of the floor, with no movement allowed to the other (South) side. Could be wrong, but that's what it looks like to me: a divided floor. http://www.ticketmaster.com/u2-innocence-experience-tour-2015-vancouver-british-columbia-05-15-2015/event/11004D824953B298?artistid=736365&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=1&tm_link=search_msg-0_11004D824953B298 To further speculate, might this mean two GA lineups on the day of the gig (one line up for each GA section)?
  10. Forced to use Internet Explorer at work, and it actually worked fine. GAs for the presale, and for my second show during the public onsale, I waited a few minutes and got lower bowl.
  11. So, I was just wondering what people's thoughts and speculations are about the stage setup. I know someone had posted elsewhere a detailed photo of the seat map for, I believe, San Jose? This picture had capacity numbers for the GA and Redzone areas. In this photo (see below), it looks like there's a more main type, square shaped stage at one end (not the Redzone end), and a round, possibly b-type sage at the other end next to the Redzones, with what looks like a catwalk runway connecting them. This was only for San Jose (or whichever city that photo was from). All other seating maps I've seen, the stage just looks like a big long rectangle. So, to speculate, is this a return to the B-stage motif U2 introduced to the world with ZooTV and then Popmart, before it evolved into the heart and subsequent ellipse of Elevation and Vertigo? If so, this B-stage would on a larger scale, since both stages appear at the extreme ends of the floor. Another theory: the photo in question also shows two long lines running across the whole length of the stage and extending over the lower level seats. Would they put stage elements on wires that move along the length of the stage and floor, suspended in the air? Maybe the boys will try their hand at trapeze? (OK, now I'm getting ridiculous.) One more theory: might the runway connecting the two stages in fact be a bridge connecting them, rather than a ground level catwalk (a la the clockhand bridges on 360), allowing GA patrons to walk underneath? Or is the San Jose seating map photo inaccurate, and it really is just a big rectangle?
  12. I happened to use Internet Explorer (begrudgingly... at work...) to get my GAs for Vancouver 1. Just sayin...
  13. I got presale GA tickets for opening night, and just picked up VIP Fan package seats in Section 111 Row 2. It's not GA for the second night, but I don't care: I have tickets for the first two nights of the tour!!! See you Zootopia crazies there!
  14. I've seen U2 10 times in my lifetime, and I have to say, Montreal has the most responsive crowd I've ever experienced (better than New York, which was a close second). The crowd just SINGS!!!! You could tell Bono and the boys really appreciated the feeling from the crowd.
  15. I bought my 2 presale tickets yesterday (GA for Vancouver 1), and I just bought 2 more on the VIP Fan sale for Vancouver 2. No code was required. I hope to high heaven I donèt get in trouble for buying more tickets, but I didnèt even enter my code, so I should be good, rightÉ AdministratorÉ
  16. Speaking of both of these bands, I recently saw Royal Blood open up for Pixies. Both blew me away! I actually got introduced to Pixies when I saw them open for U2 on ZooTV (best concert of my life). I heard Pixies didn't have a great time touring with U2, so I wouldn't expect that to happen again. TV on the Radio would be amazing. Or My Morning Jacket! Can you imagine?
  17. A number of things: 1. I've used paperless tickets for MANY concerts in the past. It is not really any hassle, though it's a bit nerve wracking not having paper tickets in hand. 2. For ticket stub collectors (myself included - I'm on my second ticket stub binder now), once you scan in with your credit card at the door, you receive a paper receipt with concert info on it (band name, date). At least this is how it has worked in Winnipeg, Canada. Still a nice souvenir from the evening. 3. IF you happen to not have your original card, YOU WILL STILL GET IN. This happened to me this last summer for two concerts I attended. The carrier bank for my credit card sold the whole Visa program to a different bank (CIBC sold their Visa program to TD), and thus I had a different credit card from what I used to purchase the tickets. I went to the venue ticket counter and presented my photo ID and received my PAPER tickets with no trouble (this is the only way you would ever get actual paper tickets with a paperless purchase - an added bonus for your trouble). Of course this takes a few minutes to do this, and with the rush of the GA crowd, you may end up at the back on the floor if you encounter this scenario. But rest assured, you will get in. 4. Note that in most paperless situations, your whole party needs to go in with you. So if you have two tickets, both people need to be there when you scan into the venue. 5. The one big con with paperless tickets, which I have yet to actually encounter, is that since you can't sell or transfer them, I suppose you are screwed if you actually can't attend the event. I guess you just hope you can actually go to the concert.
  18. By the way, I am in Canada buying for a Canadian show, using ticketmaster.ca.
  19. Got two GAs for opening night in Vancouver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So excited and coming down off a huge stress high. Based on other's recommendations here I tried the phone app first, but got an error message after I clicked "Buy Now". I then went to the website, and without too much waiting, got my tickets. I really feel for everyone frustrated with this "experience". I don't mean to gloat - I only mean to inform which process worked for me. Numerous times in the past I've been cursing the website while I wonder if my order is actually processing. It suuuuuucks. Anyhow, here's to waiting five more months for the opening show!
